"Combat" addons gone in midnight end-game content

This. WA is much more than some combat helpers, useful add-ons outside the end game customizable almost for everything. It is not Blizzard’s decision this goes away tho, the authors have decided to torpedo the whole add-on because of the new combat limitations.

Fully respect that ofc, but some other authors will come and fill the gap sooner or later, don’t worry.

great news :+1:

I never got into raids after Molten core stopped being the main raid  needed too much gear and raid experience to enter. and no one would give me that.

DBM has been around since TBC at least.

I need to find way how to play wow being colorblind and halfblind without any sounds.

Let’s hope Blizz adds some sound cue effects. I have a guildie who is visually impaired and relies alot on wa’s/addons for sounds to notice swirlies and so on.

I was in a guild back then.
There are a couple of communities on discord, which appear to have a minimal entry barrier. So if you really want to raid that should work out nicely and the commitment is minimal: Show up when signed up, be prepared and have the minimum gear. Most people show up geared higher, though, thanks to Delves, etc. because no one wants to be at bottom of details.
I got a spot easily within the click of a button. Did well, i.e. somewhere in the upper middle of details and died not more often than most of the other guys. But I started a new job and that was one commitment too much.

I was in polish speaking guild back then, and was a lot younger and had better reflex. I don’t speak english well but I’m still raiding with english guild.

I am giving them one patch until they roll back these changes.

Examples of Changes

This change will impact the following activities that have been common to raiders over the years:

  • Loot addons like RCLootCouncil will no longer work as they do right now.
This means clicking “BiS”, “Offspec”, “Transmog”, when a piece of loot drops, so your loot master decides its fate won’t work anymore.

  • You can no longer share raid notes with addons like MethodRaidTools while inside a raid.
You can still import notes from text and use them; the only thing breaking is the ability to share them with your raid.

  • No more Break Timers
This applies to any timers that aren’t pull timers, as those are baked in Blizzard’s code since BFA. Blizzard’s code only supports Pull Timers.

  • Addons that rely on reading chat, like gold gambling addons, will completely stop working.
With addons no longer able to read chat messages, these addons can no longer see rolls in chat.

  • Readycheck addons that check for durability or latency won’t have that information anymore.
While buffs on players are visible while out of combat, checks for durability and latency use community-maintained libraries, which will cease to function with these changes.

So we need manualy check every raid member if he have all buffs.

I am hoping they will add some of this basic functionality to their UI.

i personally try to avoid wa, i dont like it due to how deep the rabbithole you can go with it, and there other things that will likely make a multitude of addon devs just say “fudge it see how you can do it on your own, with a pissed playerbase”

I am pragmatic about the change. I wait to see the options of final product, and I know there will be a way to make it workable seamlessly.

No need to be hysterical:

  • it helps nobody
  • it changes nothing
  • it drains energy spent instead on restructuralization

It is visible on warcraft logs, and easier gameplay means especially DPS players will be more expendable. You will be able to replace them easier if they don’t commit to guild conduct.

Pretty sure they are removing combat enhancing addons, not addons like altoholic(which doesn’t improve your combat abilities). That’s what I read about it in spring at least.

They don’t care about veteran players. They want fortnite kids to play wow while paying 30bucks for xbox subscription. That is the sole reason for this change. Nothing else. They want to port wow to consoles, specifically to xbox

The mite information we get, the more I don’t understand the Changes, No RC loot and No RC chek that Shows me If my group is actually rdy. This seems kinda sus

Isn’t that their whole point of their removal of these addons?

How can they create a useful alternative interface if they can’t even fix a dungeon that’s been broken for a year and a half in the seasonal rotation?
