Youre character is under 20 minions and totems and 57 explosions firing off and warrior bladestorming top of you and his dh friend doing zig zag with fel rush over your character, there is zero way of having sound or visual signal from this whether they just used kick on you or not if you try fake casting without simple addon like omnibar showing kick cds top of your cast bar
All jokes aside its insane how bloated the game looks these days visually, its disgusting and unreadable really.
But while you want them to give you that kick tracker, which is the easy solution, I want them to fix this. It isnât fun. There are a million reasons to fix this as well, this is just a tiny, tiny part of the issue.
I am sick to death of not being able to see what me or anybody else is doing, and I donât want to keep piling on addon after addon after addon.
Thereâs this giant open thing in this game that weâre all looking at called the game world. The game world should solve this.
Somebody showed numbers recently in general there being same amount m+ players as pvp players, the amount of them that rely on casts and healing to do fake casting I dont know however.
We cant know for certain the right amount for either as both playerbases have multitudes of accounts and alts but there seemed to be same amount on these numbers we could see on any case, large part of it is melee so the people who rely on fake casting aka casters and healers will be less. However if healers feel they are neglected that will reflect badly.
People already complain of long queues for shuffles, if they make it even less desirable to heal we experience even longer ques, also their matchmakings algos try prevent same specs in same lobbys for shuffles and if we suddenly see people drop playing their locks and mages and boomys and sps cause they coulnt reliably fake cast anymore the queues also become longer if there comes more dh, retri, war in the ques.
This is some good news
removal of combat addons in wow is a must/ it helps the dev team to focus on the problems that are in the game that can be fixed with addons.
it helps them to make fights more simple, if they remove combat addons and heavy addons then they have to fix and fill the gap with something better that comes from the game itself
If people donât have to focus on 30 Weakauras in order to know what to press when, Blizzard can make encounters much more involved and fun instead.
Personally I think the best raid in this game thus far is Battle of DazarâAlor, not only is it a visually pleasing raid it also had a lot more involvement in mechanics with interesting approaches like the Jadefire Masters ability where you get pushed into the air and have to dodge stuff or Mekkatorque with the bots.
I would love to see difficulty in the encounter itself than ramming my keyboard 300 more times during an encounter, because that doesnât add difficulty at all, just repetitive movements based on bells or flashlights going off telling you what to do.
While FFXIV is not really a great example of great combat as I think itâs very slow and disconnected, the raid encounters are far more involved than WoW, with some mechanics following up rapidly like can be seen in this video at around 2:07 mark:
The combat is far slower, with long GCDâs but that means you have far more time to do mechanics and this is the direction that Blizzard is presumably going to take by removing useless filler abilities. Not necessarily to grind combat to a halt, but to make difficulty lie in the encounter itself rather than you and others pressing your buttons hundreds of times more.
Obviously I would love it to have fewer flashy lights as in FFXIV, but still more mechanically interesting fights where doing the mechanics is more important than min-maxing DPS would in my opinion be great.
Let me wipe by doing the 3rd mechanic in a short window sequence wrong rather than wiping because I didnât press enough buttons or failed to do them in the right order because I had to dodge mechanics, leading to a 0.01 - 0.1% damage loss that ended being the reason for the wipe.
I think it will be fine, as long as they make telegraphs and mechanics more obvious in fights. I raided on FF14 for years with no addons (PS4/5) and pugged the savage raids and all I did was watch a video guide, memorise and practice.
If you need a million addons to do content, then thereâs something wrong with the design of the content.
When I came to Wow, I found I needed DBM, WeakAuras, Details, Plater, GTFO, etc - it was pretty surprising, although I got used to it.
I just hope they manage to balance it properly and donât make the content be too hard or too easy to make up for the loss of addons. Iâm all for making specs less bloated, but hope we wonât end up with vanilla style of playing.
haha, it doesnât make sense to me for them to continue making fights with ever increasing mechanical vomit, in order to combat the addons which then make the fights easier, because thereâs too many mechanics.
The problem is not that theyâre doing this, itâs that they have made it come so far in the first place.
I am in full agreement with their choices for combat and addons, some âmust haveâ WAâs were so intensively buggy like the Causese oneâs that are extremely popular, that would cause freezes during encounters in Raids or M+ for several seconds.
It even would cause freezes in non-instanced content, which almost led me to believe there was something else wrong outside of the game.
But these are the types of WAâs everyone tells you to install because otherwise you canât competitively play M+ or other encounters.
They just have to get used to the default UI(it is actually a lot more informative than people who has hid it behind addons for years, think), and they will be fine. Blizzard will also likely adjust the visibility of ingame notifications and sound effects.
I am curious if they will add timers though. That is the only huge thing itâs missing.
I hope by âsimplifyingâ specs they reduce the amount of procs that constitute a large portion of a classes damage profile. As a Destro or Affi Lock in m+ most of my damage is Blackened Soul, a proc attached to Wither. Itâs really boring. Most hero talents are like this.
Nothing but darkness remains, more despair, more sadnessâŠdefeat. People gather in large crowds and cheer but thereâs no strength there. They re pruning, dumbing it down chasing the normie crowd. The game is regressing.
All sparkly patches pushes it closer and closer to a mobile Final Fantasy clone with glitter. The depth is vanishing.
The community cheer because they like shiny distractions, they dont care about the game.
The Titanic barreling straight into the icebergâŠpeople on deck sipping champagne and clapping at the orchestraâŠwhile the hull cracks beneath them and the water floods in.
And the ship will disappear into the abyss, leaving nothing but echoes of what once mattered.
