Listen, I understand that some people have ā¦different tastes, but I will say it again : Wotlk, as a whole, based on peopleās vote , is the best. Literally.
I donāt care that you think it was overhyped, or that you donāt like it, etc. You are in the minority. Period. Wotlk is the best x-pac.
Is like The Matrix. First is the best , and the last is the worst. Maybe you didnāt liked first, but you did liked the last. Is useless. You are in the minority. Get used with.
Is OK to say : While Wotlk was the best x-pac based on popularity, for me it wasnāt.

Naxx 2.0 was kinda meh. When you water down difficulty so much, it becomes a chore to clear it every week
TOGC was one of the if not the worse tier in wow history
Malygos is so so, forgetable
Ulduar ICC sartha and ruby sanctum were great raid
The dungeons were too massively undertuned, far too easy, boring AOE fest.
Wrath was hit and miss, same as cata if you ask me.
TBC shines well above those 2

No wotlk is literally overhyped because of arthas. the raid werenāt that good and Ulduar was simply the ābestā because at the time raids such as Nighthold or blackrock foundry didnāt exist back in the days. pvp is better in Cata and pandaria. wotlk is not as good as you remember

Cata on the other hand, is one of the worst, after the 3 trio : BfA, Shadowlands and Little Dragons which this 3 are the worst ever. I think, statistically speaking and not only ā¦ only WOD is worst than Cataclysm.

But hey! Go play Cata. In max 2 months, youāll beg for servers merge. At launch I saw max 2 layers. 2 layers LOL. In Wotlk Classic there were 9-10 layers at launch and it kept 2-5 across the entire expansion.
There is a post on reddit, where it compare the population from warcraft logs. Even TBC was higher than Cata.
So yea, but no! Cata is a bad expansion. Enjoy it anyway ā¦

doubt i play on firemaw. and the first two phases from cata seems to be pretty good. maybe it will die in phase 3

Phase2 is firelands. which is according to the people iām playing even better than phase1 which has already pretty good raids.

Cata peaked on playerbase, but was also the first time Blizz lost subs instead of gaining more than they currently had. Theres plenty of reasons why this could be the case. If you only look within Wow, youāre horribly close minded. Multiple other games released , other mmorpgs started taking room in the environment aswell. If ffxiv, ESO, gw2 existed during wrath, would it also gained as many subs as it did? If there were bad tiers, think blizz would still retain its playerbase? Like during togc. Or would they leave for these others?
Catas biggest issue was the bugs it was plagued with on launch. Not so much its own content.
But Wrath was HEAVILY carried by Arthas. If wc3 didnāt exist, I donāt think wrath would have gotten as much recognition as it did. There was no Deathwing in Wc3. If there was & he had a long back story, things would probably have looked different.

For example if you look at my Chim HC, youād think i was the worst player in Wow.
But no, iām tanking the normal hits in blood presence, iām loosing about 7k dps with this. While in Unholy specc.
It can get you a general idea, but itās not like nr 1 is the greatest of all time & top 1k is the worst. You can delay phase switching, pad buffs, Dark intent, PI, T&T etc.

In half a year, Cata subs have gone almost as worst as in the worst period of Wotlk. In 9 months, already was worst then any day in Wotlk. In 1 year it was almost the same as it was in TBC.

Yes. It had 1.5 videogames dedicated solely to this one guy & his quest, his adventure, his journey & story. His struggles & how he became the Lich King. Wc3 is rated as one of the best games, probably best RTS in the world. And then you make one expansion based on all of that, which was shown in the game. Ofcourse it will.
Well ye, my argument still stands. Not everyone parses & the ones who do, pads them mostly. Unless your parse ends up there unwillingly by someone parsing the whole raids.
Iāve looked up plenty of ppl who raids & have not uploaded. Hell my guilds runs would not be uploaded if i didnāt do it, that would be 10 less players thatād show up.

Yes and you need to take alot of this into consideration.
If you only have 1 mmorpg for example, during a period of lets say 5 years.
This mmorpg has ups & downs. But the population just grows, because itās a new genre of gaming. Theres no or barely existing competition, that cannot keep up.
Then comes a year, when this genre gains alot of competition, where other game studios step up their game. Like FFXIV did from 1.0 to 2.0. Actually a very interesting video on this with Yoshi-p. And this expansion they release is a bit janky, has alot of bugs. Ofcourse youāll look for other options. Maybe just to wait until stuff gets fixed or to check out what else there is.
CS:GO for example used to pretty much own the entire FPS market.
It doesnāt anymore, has alot of competition. And the moment they release something bad, people go to something else.
Because theres other options. If there arnāt other options, what else would you play?
