"corrupted" replacing "titanforging"

I guess the difference here is I interpret reward as something willingly aimed for, and put through effort. TF does not fit that criteria for me. Therefore I am not sad to see it transformed into a, form that makes that “luck” come with a downside to the boon should you wish to use it.

No progress will be made here though. Unless you’re actually partaking in the end game or close to, you cannot see how TFing sucks the energy out of gearing, whilst leaving you all to aware “you’re not done”.
It’s fine that people play how they want, raids aren’t for all, nor mythics, but I would urge people who don’t do these to try and understand how it is that TFing affects these systems in a way that is different to those who are happy with play lower than mythics etc. Its like a huge brick wall at the end of a progression chain, that tells you there’s more behind the wall, but you need to draw a lotto number to get behind it.

Just because these people are content to leave the wall alone, it doesn’t mean everyone is. The point is mythic+ is one of wows most popular features and modes, and I’d wager more people engage in some kind of mythic than do not at all. And it’s these people who face the hard walling that TF presents.

With corruption you lose nothing in theory if your piece doesn’t corrupt. You are theoretically free of the affix burdens. That’s less of a loss than when your weekly chest does not TF to 450, and this, and other TF procs are the only way for you now to gear up. My monk is In exactly this situation and for me, it sucks all enthusiasm out of progressing him knowing there’s absolutely nothing more I can do than hope for lucky procs. Its just a good job I don’t mien raising alts.

Why has blizzard started this kiss curse BS. It’s not been needed for 14 years, why is it needed now? it’s not fun, it’s not exciting. It’s another fricken slot machine mechanic, only worse because it’s going to be mandatory to have a certain amount of corruption.

Makes me look less forward to next expansion because I know for sure Blizzard have already developed, and made their mind up it’s going to be the new mechanic for next expansion. NO ONE ASKED FOR IT. Just remove titanforging…

Blithering idiots who clearly don’t play the game, and their stubborness to not just outright remove stuff that clearly STINKS, instead attempting to “improve” on it has to be the most garbage design philosophy ever.

Enjoy polishing your disgusting stinky turds Blizzard. Maybe the next expansion after this one we’ll have a complete overhaul again for titanforging/corrupted gear slow clap since you’re unwilling to let go of crap concepts.

Hey Destruct. Talking about me?
If so; allow me to retort.
If not; disregard everything in this post.

Because they’re not psychologically challenged manchildren? Because they understand there’s 2 sides to every issue (or sometimes many more sides)?
:man_shrugging:t3:

Where did you get that notion?
Are you suffering from insecurities my buddy my pal.

No? My view is my own and everyone is entitled to their view. However, sometimes FACTS are discussed. And there’s no getting around the facts.

What’s there to reach? Changing my mind? Why would that be your very unrealistic goal? If you go into a conversation with anyone having that mindset, I’m sorry buddy but you’re going to be disappointed 99% of the time.

How about going into a conversation to just get YOUR point across? That’s what I do. I don’t have disillusions about me changing anyone’s mind - EXCEPT when it comes to facts. I might actually tell someone something they misunderstood or didn’t know and that little extra fact might sway them.

Loooool? Ok. You have problems my dude.

What are you smoking? I’m just giving my opinion and nobody ‘should do my wishes’. What are you, genies?
Of course I HOPE that Blizzard won’t do things that I hate, but sometimes they do… and then I complain. As any unsatisfied customer would/should.

Are … you… kidding me?
Have you actually READ people’s reactions.
The VAST MAJORITY of reactions are NOT FAVORABLE.

This is one of those times I mentioned above… this is not about my opinion on the matter, this is about facts. You’re stating blatant false facts here. And you expect me to keep quiet and just let you do that? Helllll no.

You hate TF. Fine.
I don’t. I hope they put it back into game. The way it was in Legion. Because I LOVED that version. :man_shrugging:t3:

gief gooooold…

Euuuhh… No?
/shoo

but whhyyy? you are stop playing. Gief gold to Finlath. Finlath wants to buy nice things.

That’s not what I said. Learn to understand what you read.

And even if I DID, I’d never give my gold to anyone. I made that mistake once already (when I quit in WotLK I gave my 40k gold away - a fair amount at that time).

Anyway, stay on topic. Corruption sucks. Remove it (or: change it dramatically, would probably more appropriate).

I you dont know…you are not mature enough.

I somehow doubt that’s the case!

No but clearly this state of mind can only get you so far after years and years, it’s losing its momentum imo and isn’t as engaging and interesting as before or other games. Because it’s all there is to it, the endgame activities are boring.

Well, games aren’t suppose to appeal to just one type of player. So while you have lost interest in this type of game, others are just getting into it, or still into it.

Oh yes explains the numbers and the current most popular games online which are mostly not related to gear grind :man_shrugging:t2:

Again never said the game has to appeal to one type of player, but I’m not the only one who suggested this. ESO & Guild Wars 2 are also a prime examples on how it could work, though I would argue the dev team messed up in the last few years to provide meaningful content for GW2.

It can work for various types of players, it’s how you do content and which type of rewards you are offering that counts.

WoW dev team is already is taking quite some features from ESO, it’s not out of the blue, they do some things better.

I do understand the frustration, also watched Preacher’s video about gear. I sense this is not a permanent change, but this gear type is related to N’zoth, the idea behind that curruption, I actually quite like it. If this was forever, sure, different thing, but it’s related to the patch only.

It’s thematically strong, but it’s just more layers of RNG.

Now, instead of having random items randomly proc to be better, we have random items randomly proccing to be better in that they randomly proc positive effects but then also randomly proc negative effects - and they even planned for the randomly procced negative effects to be of random severity depending on how the item procced when it dropped in the first place.

I just want an item that I can understand in the context of the world and the lore. I want that item to be interesting and cool, but I want it to be simple, consistent, and understandable. I don’t mind other people working out my BiS list - in fact I downright welcome it.

As Preach also said in his recent video: There is a beauty in simplicity. It’s about time Blizzard rediscovered that.

And when they bring back TF, I will be one of the first to complain again…
I HATE WF/TF, so this new system won’t make me like it…

no it is not… TF has even more RNG, because it rolls for 5 ilvl every roll… so for example base ilvl is 400, then the system rolls for WF and maybe you get that roll and it upgrades to 405 then it rolls again, maybe you get that roll and it upgrades to 410 then it rolls again… and this continues, until you fail the roll or until the max Ilvl of 455 is reached… so you have a total of 11 RNG Rolls on said item…

with corruption, this RNG is gone, the ONLY things you have to worry about is the Corruption tier and the affix, which is a total of 2 RNG Rolls
since the Corruption score will not be RNG

This is simply not true: they’ve already stated that the corruption levels will be static: there is no RNG involving how much corruption you’ll get. It’s based on tiers which is based on how good the bonus you’re getting is. There is relatively little RNG, the only RNG is to get the good bonuses on at least ONE of your pieces, which mind you, shouldn’t be too difficult.

I think a lot of people are jumping in on hating this new system before even seeing or knowing how it exactly works. A lot of youtube creators also jumped the gun and made videos criticizing it before they knew enough about it, which resulted in everyone complaining about it.

Wait wait… does that mean bonuses don’t stack? I mean, I only have to get crit dmg bonus on 1 item and there is no reason to get another with that one? If yes, then I’m in. Would like to see confirmation on this although.

Tahra is of the school of the eternal tunnel vision, all who oppose her opinion are biased against casuals and she is the only one capable of objective thought with the exception of people who agree with her

That’s UNDER THE HOOD rolling; not something you are aware of as a player. You just see 1 roll; the ilvl. Not 5 + 5 + 5. So calling that different rolls may be technically correct, but from a player perspective it just doesn’t feel like that.

Whether an item is corrupted or not is also a roll.

And that affix is very very very bad RNG because it’s only (at the moment) a 1 in 11 chance you’ll get the one you want.
