Crossplay classic/retail

Why are we still unable to play Classic and retail at the same time?

I’d imagine the reason hasn’t changed.

You can with different accounts can’t you?

Probably because it’s the same game license.

Because that would mean that Classic players need have a Retail overall to accommodate the Retail play style or vice versa.

Keep classic where it is, away from Retail, after all, that IS what Classic is… Old Vanilla WoW, nothing to do with Deathwing, LK, etc.

Because WoW sub fee covers the server connection, if you’re playing on two clients at the same it’s double the bandwidth they have to serve you

even ion don’t want the turd that is crapstic to touch retail wow despite his poor decision making of turning the loot in sl into crapstic

You all clearly have no clue what you are talking about as blizzard themselfs stated “we just need to flip a switch” its literally just greed to not let us play both.

WoW, much like every other game and most other services, does not allow you to have 2 active sessions from the same account.

How about you read what I just wrote and reevalute that mindset of "Blizzard is allways right and does everything they can for us  "
They even added a PAID progression in classic damn TBC what the actual F*** Blizzard?!

How about no? Do you know the implications of allowing multiple sessions from the same account? Right now, if someone wants to multibox 50 instances, they need 50 accounts. Allowing multiple sessions from the same account means they need only one account.

There’s also security reasons why there can be only one session allowed per account. Right now, if someone else is using your account, you can easily know, because the game will tell you. Of course, there’s things like 2fa, but those can be subverted (if someone knows the phone number you use for 2fa, they can spoof it). You can’t even check the mission table on your phone while you’re logged in the game.

It’s a much lesser hassle for you to alt+f4 out of one game while playing the other.

I presume the client treats it like it’s multiboxing, requiring separate accounts.

There are times when queueing for one it would be nice to be able to play the other. I’m sure many would like to do mundane tasks in one or both at the same time.

Hey buddy, they have ways of making sure you cannot bot. They dont enforce it due to greed, allowing normal players to play retail and Classic at the same time has no impact regarding that you just wrote. You are talking about sessions BUDDY we are talking about TWO DIFFERENT VIDEO GAMES CLASSIC AND RETAIL

I could have sworn I posted in this, oh wait. I did.

Whom inquiried?

Cross posting, gets both audiences I guess

The only way the battle against bots can be won is by limiting the amount of WoW connections per network. Everything else can and will be subverted by bots. For example, automated input software - the way Blizz checks if you’re running that is through checking hash values on the kernel level. However… if you change the hash value of the automated input software… it just works lmao.

They cannot limit the amount of instances of the game you can run, because you can use cheat engine and many other programs to get around the limitation. That won’t work either.

Limiting the amount of connections per router will work. Let’s say only one connection per router… but I play WoW with my brother sometimes? What do we do then? We can’t connect at the same time. Average players are hurting.

Another thing that can work is using hardware ID to limit the amount of instances that can be run on a machine. The way this works is your hardware IDs are sent to Blizz and stored in an active session. All other instances of WoW that trying to log in with the same hardware ID are automatically disconnected and shut down.

Do you get it by the way?

All solutions involve invasive anti-hacking measures that will hurt all normal players, just for the sake of punishing a few exploiters? And what do the exploiters do… give us cheap mats, making it viable to pick 2 crafting professions. Come on, mate.

Facebook allows multiple sessions from the same account and I highly advise people to check their sessions. What always happens is that many people find immediately that they have sessions open on devices they don’t posses. And these sessions stay open, because the user never thinks to close them. Same by the way with your google account.

And were Blizz to allow playing Classic and Retail from the same account - it’ll happen to your WoW account too.

Again I stated everything I needed to state in my reply, you have the knowledge of the world at your finger tips. Use it.

Why did Blizzard just remove my post because it was titled “Hit your head Blizzard?” In what world is that abusive content my goodness ridiculous.

because magic

In a way, you are essentially calling them “somethin’”… That somethin’ being the wrong somethin’ that should be called to a company that holds a lot of power.

You could say “Hey Blizzard, remember this?” or “Oh great, another promise broken”, but going “Did you hit your head?” is the same as “You either injured yourself on the head… Or you’re really that… “Somethin’”…”
