As a Final Fantasy XIV player I can agree that I love the game being on a 1 hour day/night cycle and I don’t really get to see the daylight in WoW either.
lmao. Are you serious?
Well, bye then.
In Silverpine forest there is a town that has humans at day and Worgen at night. Too bad this is the only example of such a thing happening in game.
There is always something to moan about on the forums.
I’ve seen a lot of complaints and reasons that somebody said they’d unsub over the year, this is easily one of the dumbest. Do it.
So sad to see a OP so dramatic, we could have a healthy discussion about events bound to day/night feature and conclude that, besides 2 different fish there would be no difference, we could even discuss it further due to being prettier during the night and/or day.
Just to cull the numbers and to end your suffering my answer will be YES! just unsub please this is not your game clearly
24hrs day/night cycle is perfect.
Yeah sure but its still limitating without any special reason here. I’ll light a candle on my nostalgics hopes and I’ll play something else but I would have liked to know the reason of this choice of cycle (I’ll add it next to “mysery of life” on my list i guess).
For WE u make a point but I have a credo : when sun is up irl I have to enjoy it. When night comes up I crawl back to the magical world of internet where everything is sublimated if not already drunk half naked on the street.
Because a good balance bewteen IRL and internet life is important for both mind and body.
Edit : not bothering anwsering the brain… argumentless trolls , everybody get its a matter of personnal feeling.
THIS SAID .
For those who prefer the night atmosphere would still be able to enjoy it equally to those who prefer a shorter D/N cycle (3h-6h-…). as in FXIV for example as someone said.
So when our personnal preference would satisfy the most, yours doesn’t stand. It wont change anything, I just like point the fact we’re right about it
It gets dark at like 9pm in game. If you have a regular job then you’re probably home before that at least some of the time, no?
I personally dont like playing when the actual real world is dark as opposed to the game world which is nice when it’s dark.
And here is me, absolutely loving the real life day/night cycle.
I didnt know that (and few i read in the thread). Indeed that would be nice if more events like were time relaated. But still even a 12H D/N cycle would be enjoyable for any working human shift
Having a job is a choice
It’s almost like they recreated the game the had made fifteen years ago - complete with the same whining in the forums about the same things that were cried about fifteen years ago.
…And it’s almost as if a few people had trouble understanding what “recreation” means. How stupid is that?
I think that it’s great that there is a day and night and it’s sort of good that there’s also predictability in what time it’s going to be. However…Azeroth is a planet and it should have time zones. Right now it’s either day or night everywhere, so if you only play at night, you only ever see night.
I think I would put Azeroth either on a 23 or a 25 hour day, so even if you play at the same time every day, over the course of a few weeks, you will experience all times of day in every zone. Also, I would add the time zones so that if you prefer “daylight” or “night” zones.
With all that said, this is Classic and the game should be an accurate representation of the game as it was back then. My suggestions are therefore for a next generation WoW or other MMO.
Doesnt night in the game start at 10 pm tho?
Overall I was wondering - is it bound to server time or your local time? If its your time then buddy from couple timezones away might have different time of day in the game… so how is it?
It’s server based. And yes I think it’s 10pm realm time that it turns to night - for the couple hours before that it is sunset/evening.
Now, does that work in outdoor dungeons too? I dont ever recall being in one that seemed like it’s night.
I find it quite soothing to end the workday enveloped in the darkness of night both outside and inside the game.
It also makes long weekend sessions stand out and be extra memorable.
I think Sims would suit you.
Quite a threshold you got there
