Dear Night Elf players

Exactly. They didn’t have to touch Darkshore at all.

All they had to do was say the Alliance victory phase represents the canonical state of the zone, like they did with Arathi.

The version of the zone when Alliance controls is it perfectly serviceable as post-victory phase (same goes for Arathi btw).

Given how her story turned out, yes, it would actually be unironically better.
Alternatively, don´t have that scene in the game at all. The problem isn´t that Tyrande was unable to kill Sylvanas, it´s that she got de-powered by Elune, who then said how she must choose vengeance or forgiveness, even though Tyrande already made that choice and was deprived of consequences of it.

Shouldn´t have created the seed then.
Really most of these problems come down to Blizzard creating a dumb story and then leaving the players (and themselves in the case of the tree) with the consequences of said story. In this case it´s that night elves got replacement tree for Teldrassil which is instead being 90% about dragons.

There´s a portion of Hyjal right south from Nordrassil (where the road goes around the tree and moves to the west of it) that could be easily reworked to house a town alongside it, with assets that were developed for Legion and 8.1.
It would fit the lore and also be in similar vein to the Forsaken, who may not have gotten their capital back, but at least they have a place that can serve as capital for the purpose of the story (such as heritage questline).

Hyjal over this new world tree would have been infinitely better, imho.

Quick note that it was a choice between vengeance and renewal, meaning she could either pursue Sylvanas to a bloody end, or she could forgo the self-destructive path to lead her people beyond the tragedy.

Of course that has its own problems and they’ve been discussed to death, but she definitely does not forgive Sylvanas.

Also, the place I´m talking about houses night elf base in Hyjal raid, which means it would have added benefit of being able to say that new night elf capital is the base from final mission of Reign of Chaos, which IMO would be pretty cool.

You´re right, but I´ve deliberately gone for that wording since it seems for Blizzard, the idea of peace and moving beyond endless conflict and vengeance is intertwined with happy wholesome cross-faction duck petting trip, so might as well call it how it is.

What Night Elves should be mad about is that Shandris still has zero drip.

Diagnosed with no fashion sense.

Maybe it’s a character trait. Not everyone knows how to dress good.

They’re updating the Aspects and Shandris is still here looking like a level 15 from Classic.

Dear Pesky Plumbers

Okay Bowser, this isn’t a Mario hate thread.

I for one am grateful they give representation to those of us who can’t make a good looking transmog to save their life.

maybe they shouldn’t have put a silly amount of effort, energy and resources into consistently screwing over one of the most popular playable races then

Unironic punching bags and drama cows. I suppose blizzard needed a sympathetic face for tragedy that alliance players would rally to as opposed to what else? Sorry gnomes. Also, draenei may be pretty but they’re basically extinct as it is.

Statements like that, which boil down all of the attention that night elves have gotten in the past four years to “screwing them over,” are precisely why I have a hard time believing that some night elf fans would ever be happy with anything that Blizzard came up with.

I can absolutely accept being unhappy with the treatment that night elves have gotten, but you should at least recognise that Blizzard has made attempts to appease night elf fans, even if they’ve been lacklustre and ill-received. Interpreting these efforts as malicious and intentional attempts to “screw over” night elves seems like an overreaction to me, if not outright disingenuous.

Some night elf fans are completely crazy and need to get over the fact their race isn’t omnipotent but I can’t imagine how some of the current storyline highlights would be appreciated by literally anybody if it was about their favorite race or anything they like.

Blizz is doing them dirty.

Example below:

Malfurion in BFA
Malfurion: “I will beat you Warchief Sylvanas. OMG you sidestepped my wall of wisps? Then I will 1v1 you in a war and - aaah, an attack from behind in a battlefront after I pushed deep into hostile territory? Inconceivable! Also I am downed. Oof.”

Malfurion in SL: “…Did my wife just toss herself into our version of hell? I swear I am not that bad of a husband.”

Malfurion in Dragonflight: Yeah fucc this I’m killing myself

Tyrande: no, wait, please…

Malfurion: There is no other way! Destiny meant this or something! I have to DIE and enter the Dream!

Tyrande: WTF have you been smoking dreamweed again?

Malfurion: Deep in your heart, you know it’s true…

Tyrande: Oh, I will miss you so much.

Malfurion: dies.

She waited him out while he was asleep dating in the dream for 10,000 standard years, she can handle it. The druids, however… they have a bad history with changes in leadership.

Technically I do understand the storytelling move of putting the demigod of all things nature on a bus by the logic of him being too OP for a faction to control but then we have to consider how he goes down like a chump against an elderly orc.

It’s also a chore to competently write the couple’s co-rulership of the night elves because that takes effort. Also, druids are of both factions and having a night elf leader is bias or whatever.

Even steven, scores and balance, now they just need to not give the Horde something super fancy on top [Challenge: Impossible].

Bro is literally the entire reason we’re in this mess with a lost capital as it is, he did a lot wrong.

Also trying to become a Fire Bender villain. That never goes well. Rookie mistake.

The leader of the Earthen Ring was a tauren, then an orc… I’m not sure which it is now.

Eh, it worked alright for the Dark Iron clan. Can’t fault a few so-called druids for trying to recreate the Firelord drip.
