Férg, thank you a lot of the context of the full story. It was not easy for me to understand since there was comments all around saying things.
That is understandable, but I hope now it has shed light on why so many are upset.
Yeah I understand, thanks.
I deeply apologize for all the people who got upset by my posts (opinions on the matter).
I just wanted to see the whole picture, because people sometimes buy boosts for Ny’alotha from third party websites and they get scammed. There is nothing that Blizzard itself can do, since it’s not in their power.
Yes, well. This isn’t ingame content like dungeons/raids. This is roleplay stuff like descriptions. But he also has scammed via art. (Pretending to be a beginner artist) which some nice people will commission them but he doesn’t live up to it.
And not everyone will notice that his art is traced. So he’s done two types of scamming.
Yeah, those two are different things but both of them are connect to WoW, so I thought boosting in raids was a first example that came off my head.
Honestly, the AD forums are much more chill than they used to be – online communities will always, always have drama, but it’s definitely cooled off over the years on here. I prefer it this way, even if I have some nostalgia for the crazy drama threads from years ago.
Imagine being that low of a person that you pose as an artist, take on commissions knowing full well that you’re intending to scam them, and then coming on the forums to advertise such a service openly, whilst knowing full well that you’re a despicable human being that takes advantage of people and then turns toxic at a drop of a hat?
I can’t imagine it myself, because I’ll truly never understand the thought process of those people such as the OP, who thinks they can get away with scamming people by claiming their writing or ripped off art is a legitimate service. Shameful, to be honest, and should be called out to warn others, especially if they are aware of what they’re doing and judging what others have said, the OP knows exactly what they’re doing.
I’m mostly on general forums. I have made some great friends there that I play WoW too as well.
I hope I’ll be able to make friends here as well, and understand the community of the realm I’m in. Since I don’t have many friends from Argent Dawn, just some I know from general forums.
I hope people don’t take anything to their heart, I’m just a human processing what is happening and expressing my thoughts on the matter.
The best solution is always to help others understand and you were willing to still listen which is good! I am sure you will be able to make friends when you’re understanding!
I think it’s best usually to ask for more information, rather than jump in with a pre-conceived response to the situation that you (per your own admission) didn’t fully understand, due to the amount of posts being flung back and forth.
People will get defensive, particularly on topics like this when the person being ‘targeted’ has clearly and provably done something reprehensible.
I wish you luck on that but I must say something myself, dont take it the Wrong way.
I actually prefer respect and common curtes over freedom of speech (doesnt mean Im against it) and it really threw me off you show so little regard after speaking about compassion in Another thread.
So yeah, I came to also to belive you were Just here for a laugh and trolling like Fouleye.
Fredoom speech is important, but respect and common curtesy even more so, Just something to remember, I have nothing against you.
Hm, understandable.
I like to challenge the thinking and think of the bigger picture what actually happened here.
I’m always for Freedom of Speech since it’s forums and that’s the whole point in my opinion.
I hold firm in my belief that roleplaying communities attract some of the worst people by virtue of anonymity, manifactured influence and wish fulfilment and brings out the worst in others because of pathological refusal to communicate issues and snowballing misunderstandings while opportunistic abusers have free reins.
I just want to grill, man.
You can just correct that to “online communities” honestly; I don’t think roleplayers are any worse than other sections of the internet. The general discussion forums are a very good example of poor behaviour external to us (and on the same game).
No, I’m quite convinced that roleplaying in particular draws in certain kinds of people, a fair few of which create their own baggage from the premise that weighs everyone else around them down in a sucking mire. The social dynamics of guilds and the premise of creating a different identity for yourself to be the handsomest prince of the wood elves feeds into existing pathologies in ways few other things within easy reach can possibly do. It’s uniquely bad and I want to avoid those people while still making stories.
have you seen the streamer drama recently
Too busy grilling, man.
I have not.
Could you… uuh explain?
Aside from some PvP streamers themselves being very liberal w/ the n-word I do believe there’s a community surrounding a popular streamer (you know the one) going after Roux iirc.
