Hero gear used to be giga OP. So I don’t get why people are upset people get it from Delves now that it isn’t as good as it once was.
An old +8 was roughly the same difficulty as a t8 Delve and it gave Hero gear which could be upgraded to only 6 ilevels lower than Mythic track. I had a healer leave a +9 once and we still timed the key. I even did a +11 where the healer didn’t heal anyone and kept dying. It was the golden era of keys.
I think the lower part of gearing is fine, it’s higher up that people hit a wall. Putting the crests on +9 onwards and making +10s the weekly is what is keeping some back.
There is always someone who will sit there going on about how they find everything super easy and telling others they are rubbish. Delve chat itself is often full of bragging people instead of being helpful or sharing tips and tricks.
Sometimes it’s funny though, a mutual dislike of things Brann does or him turning hostile and being killable etc.
Gearing via the vault using Delves is a slow process but people can do it. There are also the Delver’s Bounty ofc. I really don’t see the issue. It’s like I’m slowly getting mythic pieces from the vault but for doing M+.
I genuinely do not understand why people want to make content made for casual players harder. This was made for open world players. It’s challenging enough for many to build up to 8s. Some can only do it in groups and others aren’t there yet at all.
I think its sheer frustration. They can’t stand someone else to be happy.
They believe their experience is the only one that matters.
Not everyone thinks or acts the same and they don’t get that.
Or has the same capabilities or time.
People on the forum are not a representation of all the player base and they can’t understand that.
I want extra difficulties added to Delves so I can get better loot from them. It doesn’t mean I want the loot removed from lower difficulties that are easy for me, which is all current difficulties.
I’m one of this forum’s biggest advocates for more loot for everyone. If it was my choice even the biggest forum crybaby would be in Mythic gear, that’s the level of “more loot” I’d set my sights on.
Then you make Delves compulsory content instead of optional. It’s meant for the open world player, it’s not meant to be hijacked by M+ and Mythic raiders.
The reason most don’t have to bother with Delves is because the rewards cap out. Remove that cap and you make them content that needs to be done to gear.
So by your logic, your option is to go into harder content now to get higher rewards and leave the open world/casual player content. No one is forcing you to stay in Delves.
I personally don’t see the point of creating content for casual players and then turn it into yet another competitive gearing track. They already added 11s as a challenge for those that didn’t feel 8s were enough.
If you want to pretend that it doesn’t generate a whole extra compulsory treadmill for players then be my guest but that is rather disingenuous.
I can still remember players complaining that they had to grind Korthia as raiders/m plus players. Not sure if it affected PvP players, not an area I touch.
Because generally speaking the people complaining that delves are too easy are not the people delves are aimed at. It’s mostly high end M+ and raiding players who are complaining; some because they feel like ‘their content’ is being invalidated (spoiler: it’s not) and some because they want to gatekeep ‘their gear’ from the ‘common folk’.
Blizzard needs to start ignoring those people because those players have ruined too much already for the solo and/or world content playerbase.
Fix the content at the level of those players: Fix M+ and mythic raiding - without resorting to nerfing other types of content.
It’s not a matter of addiction, that’s like me suggesting you are so addicted to Delves you can’t venture out to the content that would give you the rewards at levels you so desperately desire.
At present people doing higher content only really had to do Delves for the first week or two. Then it’s out of the gearing loop.
So the casual players get to enjoy the content made for them without it being ruined with increases in difficulty etc.
