Delves - Death Limit Added

TWW end game gets more and more disappointing…

Yes. Yes I do. I don’t care for HC gear or make that 11-13 have some difficulty for it. I want to have fun in delves, not work.

there is always a middle way. I dont give a crap about improvement and i dont give a crap about heroic version of the game.
But i care about mogs pets usw. AND FUN.

Since ill play delves overall solo i dont understand why introduce a death count for solo players. Diyin 10000 times never ruin the “experience” of other players.

It doesn’t feel very WoW, it feels like Pacman from 1982.

What’s next we have to have a box attached to our PC where we put in a 10p coin to restart the game?

I’m not up to date, does it ALSO have keys? :weary:
Ok I was thinking I would’ve enjoyed this game mode, but I think I will just do the bare minimum to get the aircraft mount and then I will be out of it asap, as always. Between this and death count, I give up. M+ is better  it’s a shame, they had it perfect the first iteration, they always end up ruining it

They have a lot of subscribers with a lot of (parent?) money that buy boosts and the death count incentivizes that for them.

It was in my thoughts already when they announced delves would be 1- to 3-man content.

Boosts. And timegating.

The idea of this content was to give open world players, ie the casual player base something to do. Instead they’ve approached it in the same way as every other end game for skilled players. So where it could have just had an increasing difficulty it’s now got all these provisos attached (death limits/keys to take part).

Nobody has asked to be handed loot or that they should one shot anything. There is a vast difference between not wanting a death counter and one shotting. If oneshotting was something they wanted the death counter wouldn’t matter.

For some reason any time casual players dare to give feedback it’s met with two mantras, they must be asking for free loot or an I win button every time they enter. Which is so far removed from the actual criticism.

I doubt bulk of us who do raid and do m plus will be bothering with delves for gear for very long, only at the very start of the gearing curve. Those of us who do continue with them are most likely to be doing it for the cosmetics.

Someone mentioned it requiring keys. I only tested Delves before the death count was introduced and it had no entry limit either.

There’s still no entry limit. The keys are for an additional chest that spawns in the treasure room after the final boss - presumably that has the best loot rewards.

I’m not a fan of the key idea myself but the one saving grace is that the keys can be obtained from most open world content - it doesn’t seem we’ll need to farm specific content to get them.

Most major world content (events ,pacts (similar to the Wrathion Sabellian thing) , special world quests, weekly quests) drop pinnacle chests and the first 4 chests per week are guaranteed to include a key. (more specifically they include the 100 key fragments needs to make one key). There’s a lot more than 4 things that can drop the quest - their stated goal is for us to have a genuine choice in what we do to get them.

The use of fragments suggests (not been able to test this) that they will be some way to farm out more keys if you really want to.

It remains to be seen how it will play out in practice but it does seem on the surface they have tried to avoid the issues of what I’d describe as “forced content” that happened with similar systems in the past.

Add it to M+ or to Raids if you like it so much.

There’s a world of difference between adding unwanted, irritating mechanics and one shotting stuff! Jeez.

Let’s get real: Most people aren’t going to go in unless they can get the best stuff.
They’re going to do 2 runs and be done with the system for the week (well, okay maybe not; they might do enough to fill out a vault row).

From what I understood it’s not ‘a lot more’. It’s actually 6.
We do 4 out of 6 actitivies.

Such a lot of choice! :pinched_fingers:t3:

:kissing_heart:

The more info they share, the less enthusiastic I’m becoming.

Thanks for the clarification!

Not keen on that aspect but at least entry has remained free.

Well that is a relief. I am not fond of the idea but at least we aren’t barred entry.

Latest update in beta testing feedback topic

Well puny, first off i understand that a death counter seems abit off in how they subscribe it content for casuals, but i did all the delves except 11 - 13 they are not really hard tbh.

It all depends ofcourse how blizzard is handling the tuning of the delves. People should wait and if the delves are too hard they will tune it down.

You did not learn from Tronganth , did you not remove death limit in this mode after your player hated ? Why do this to appeal to hardCores Elitist again ?

You should still take the rewards but not advance to the next lvl, and for the love of good why again limit the rewards with limit the keys each week

Seems they are too hard and some tuning is happening, according to that blue post I linked.

The Torghast problem seems to persist where different classes also struggle.

I really hope that eventually they will figure out (10 years late mind you) that they need to divorce PvE content.

They just rolled out % heal nerfs for DDs… because of Raid healing tuning… which will definitely impact the survivability of some DD specs in solo content.

And if this Delves thing becomes popular, they will need to tune classes to allow for variety. And any M+/Raid tuning will completely wreck the Delves scene.

So I hope they manage to see the obvious…

I just wish they saw delves as part of casual content like they pretty much said they would. If minmaxers make use of them during the first few weeks to gear their characters quicker for high-end content, then so be it. It is not reason enough to have the feature overmanaged and accessibility to it so carefully curated that it feels like a PITA.

Then I won’t bother quite frankly.
I don’t care if I am able to do it easily, because what is the point in having this death count that removes my chest and wastes my key if I can do it easily?
The whole stupid system needs to go.

exactly this could not agree more.
