Demo lock 10.1.5 behind the scene secret of dev's

Lead warlock developer : checking warlock new imp quest in darkmoon faire 10.1.5 , as he start hearing madness sounds and crazy whispers of old gods

Random dev: Sir…Sir players are not happy at all about them losing insta dogs in pvp and insta hand of guldan…we should do something good now that warlock getting new pets and all races can be warlocks now and encourage them to play it more

Lead warlock developer : …ahhh…mmm…the voices says they get more damage but giving them harder time generate soul shards and hard cast even more…make them hard cast ever in history of world of warcraft…yes YES YES…increase damage of felguard but ( remove demonic knowledge , Demonic Meteor , and nerf demonic calling to 10% only , remove ripped from the portal so only 2 dogs instead of 3 , means less core proccs and shards )…make them cast shadowbolt 90% even more …and since t ier set bonus rely on demonic core procc’s that generate from imps and demonic knowledge then felguard 1 sec reduce from tier bonus set will be even worst…HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA…make demo most hard cast in history of wow 20 years…

Random developer:…

Community manager: Ahhh great you already made the patch note for 10.1.5 warlock changes…hmmm crazy changes i see…now also make sense why tier bonus give boring felguard damage and doesn’t help warlock mechanically like tier set in season 1 used to do…well i get payed very little to care anyway…" take notes and post it on forum

  • Demonology
    • Developers’ note: We’re working to reduce the peaks and valleys of Demonology’s throughput by depowering Call Dreadstalkers. This will allow us to compensate by increasing the throughput of Demonology’s other rotational spells. We hope to have those tuning adjustments soon.
Lastly, the Demonic Core economy has been too generous in Dragonflight. We want to return Demonology to a place where Shadow Bolt is frequently cast, Demonbolt damage feels impactful, and the number of instant casts available is a bit more limited.
    • Ripped through the Portal, Demonic Knowledge, Shadow’s Bite, Demonic Meteor, and Fel Might have been removed.
    • Fel and Steel has been redesigned – Your primary Felguard’s Legion Strike damage is increased by 10%. Your primary Felguard’s Felstorm damage is increased by 5%.
    • New Talent: Heavy Handed – Increases your primary Felguard’s critical strike chance by 10%.
    • Heavy Handed is located in Fel Might’s previous location.
    • New Talent: Cavitation – Your primary Felguard’s damaging critical strikes deal 10/20% increased damage.
    • Cavitation is located in Umbral Blaze’s previous location.
    • New Talent: Shadowflame Acolyte – Shadow Bolt deals 15% increased damage and Demonbolt deals 10% increased damage.
    • Shadowflame Acolyte is located in Demonic Knowledge’s previous location.
    • New Talent: Imp-erator – Increases the critical strike chance of your Wild Imp’s Fel Firebolt by 5/10%.
    • Imp-erator is located in Demonic Calling’s previous location.
    • New Talent: Dirty Hands – Hand of Gul’dan deals 8/15% increased damage and the critical strike chance of Hand of Gul’dan is increased by 8/15%.
    • Dirty Hands is located in Inner Demons’ previous location.
    • Fel Covenant has been moved to Shadow’s Bite’s previous location.
    • Fel Covenant is now 1 rank (was 2 ranks).
    • Umbral Blaze has been moved to Fel Covenant’s previous location.
    • Dread Calling has been moved to Ripped through the Portal’s previous location.
    • Dread Calling is now 2 ranks (was 1 rank).
    • Demonic Calling has been moved to Demonic Meteor’s previous location.
    • Demonic Calling is now 1 rank (was 2 ranks).
    • Inner Demons has been moved to Dread Calling’s previous location.
    • Inner Demons is now 1 rank (was 2 ranks).

This is honestly really bad.

Just wtf are they doing?

Nobody wants to cast more shadowbolt, what the f are you thinking??

Also, how are dogs the cause of demo peaks and valleys? Do you even play the game? The reason for such massive peaks, is tyrant+tier+pitlord+Pi, which by the way, YOU CREATED! Not dogs, who the hell even thought of blurting out that clearly false line.

The problem is also only with pitlord, the burst that demo has is fine with tyrant and felguard alone, which by the way, not many people actually like nether portal anyway.

Also let’s not even get into Power infusion. Which by the way is also your fault.

Get some people who actually know wtf they are talking about on the team.

This is the fault of people asking for reworks. For specs that are fine.

Many cool talents replaced with completely passive boring dog…

Let me be clear blizzard, these ideas are pathetic, and i would be ashamed if i was the one who even thought about them. No one cares about your stupid ideas of what should and should not be, of but demo was too mobile, and we felt like it wasn’t good, yea no one cares.

No one cares about the ideas that you have about how the game should be, if they make the overall game less fun to play. Your half baked stupid af ideas.

Is that clear?

“We want you to cast your filler more often, and your fun spells less often”. Genius class design

Yea, that’s literally what it is, they are insane.

I’ve seen a few Liquid players complaining. Hopefully there’s enough of a stink raised that they rethink this.

I think their line or reasoning is “this is how it should be” While completely forgetting that it’s less fun to play.

As i pointed out before, no one gives a damn about their up in the air ideas of how a spec should play if it’s less fun than before.

They need some people who actually know wtf they are talking about on that team, because whoever thought of this, should be ashamed.

It’s embarrassing really.

I have listened to a few specialist Lock content creators (especially Kalamazi) and they cant believe how BAD these changes are going to make the Demo Lock game play. The Dev that has decided this have they even played a Demo Lock ??? If these changes go live then it’s probably bye to my Demo Lock and reroll to a different class .

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have a rethink about these awful changes.

Another sad thing is, hybrid specs like priest and paladin got succesful reworks that addresses their issues and also more fancy stuff to play around. Warlocks on the other hand, as a pure dps spec, not being adressed about the issues they have for a long time, talent trees still full of passive / dull / out-dated stuff but yet they want to take away the few things we are left with to have some fun. If those causing issues for tuning, scaling or whatever the reason is, then fix it with some creativity and inspiration instead of throwing us more boring passive " gives % smthng " stuff as you have promised at the beginning of the expansion.

Paladins wanted better gameplay, they got it, spriest were unhappy with their tiers & button bloat, they got fixed, also mages being heard and keep getting more possitive changes even it is a bit late. At the warlocks’ side; we wanted nether portal to be gone or changed yet it ended up being the meta build, they made an another (passive&boring) talent to give an option yet they nerfed it after so nothing changed. We wanted fel covenant to be gone since it is annoying to play with and no one likes it - yet now, we are being forced to pick it with those changes and loosing our mobility as a cherry on top. I don’t even want to mention about unwarranted tunnings based from bugged data.

The s priest rework was not a success, and neither was the ret pally.

The s priest rework was unnecessary and they didn’t address a single problem that it had before. It’s just strong in terms of damage, like it was before. But no actual problem was addressed, and they reduced mobility significantly. In other words it was a fail.

As for the ret pally rework, it’s better in terms of defensive options, but it’s not really more fun than before, they added a few cool things, but also removed some very nice stuff. Which is also a fail.

This is why people need to shut the hell up about reworks. Reworks are only needed when the spec is not functional.

And this new demonology is garbage.

Idk how many times do we have to scream of certain things and blizz actually listen…

There’s many problems about demo lock being actual fun, and the either break the spec being totally op or just unplayable.(unfun, is a certain thing cause the majority doesnt like having 200 imps as a theme and thats it.)

Where is the fantasy and the fun once blizzard had for the game ? Idk… it seems dead long time ago…

Im speaking outta PVP perceptive , and if you ask me , the most fun demo ever was , it was MOP…those that never played it or tried it due to “kekw pandalands” go try it and tell me if you wanna log retail demo after… and be honest before you uninstal retail, cause you will.

2 things , fun & class fantasy… bring those back and get some devs that PLAY the game i would suggest…

Cause you guys at blizz obviously DONT play the game.

Tbh right now I love the way demo is. These changes look absolutely awful. I reckon if they go live I will be putting my warlock back on the bench.

Warlock’s Class Developer has been playing too much FF XIV I guess. Or worse he’s an alchool/drug addict.

What developer? There is none…
No sentient being was able to generate changes like this.

Same energy as when Marksmanship got a soft rework during Nighthold back in Legion. Great flow, fluid gameplay, decent utility, but it was also doing good damage.

How to fix it? Fine-tune ability values? Nah, rework it using a sledgehammer and irrevocably break the spec.
