And you think that is Healthy for the Franchise if the Final is to be Ruined?
Better solution is creating new Franchises and Games
It’s very rare a Franchise lasting for 20 years and in the final with a Good End, Major of them becames Ruined
I think that will happen with Resident Evil Franchise too they are pushing to the Limit when in truth Franchise should have ended with Resident Evil Code Veronica or Resident Evil 4
To have a Faction War that is actually engaging you need a developer who cares about both factions and delivers two equally polished and ambitious stories.
Blizzard has NEVER done that. NEVER. At no point in the lifetime of WoW.
The result is very clear: Some Horde players think the Faction War is fine because they are used to actually get something enjoyable out of it. Most Alliance players are not, because Faction War means we get leftover development time for a story and the best we can hope for is to be allowed to play the Horde quests while hiding in the bushes.
Another expansion like the last patch of MoP or the entirety of BFA and there is nobody left playing Alliance (there are much more severe issues behind the migration to the Horde, content quality is just one of them) - how are you supposed to have a faction war then?
The main reason why faction wars in WoW have been so abysmally bad is Blizzard’s effort - or better: lack thereof - when it comes to the Alliance side of things whenever there actually is a split in the content available.
That - for me - is the main reason why i hope there will NEVER be a faction conflict in WoW again EVER: It means i get to enjoy “Horde quality” in the content available to me, since it is the same for everybody. Not bug-ridden second-hand afterthoughts implemented without any passion by interns who would have rather worked on the Horde content, like all the other cool people.
this is so true, heck alliance could stand there watching when the horde fights eachother, and then at the final moment swoop in at full force and just take over everything, what would not be that hard to do at all, considering the horde is just beating up them selfs.
this is also true, thing is to make a faction war work for 2 factions lore wise is close to impossible, BFA shows this quite good and so did MOP, where one faction always got the better lore, but if you look back you notice, expansions like TBC, wrath, legion and even cata to some extent had way better story for both sides, becuse it was more or less same quests.
in bfa, alliance for example doesnt realy se any faction war at all, exept brenna dam, and zuldazar, Nazmir and voldun has nothing to do whit the war, same goes for Tirgarde and drustvar also, heck you bearly se any horde at all.
and when you do get in thouch whit the war, it is more or less plant bombs on zandalari ships.
I would say from alliance perspective, 80% of the game is to clear out Kul tiras problems where 10% is the war going on, and rest is helping snake people or brann to fight blood trolls more or less.
But Warcraft isn’t a story. It’s a business.
It’ll keep going until it doesn’t make money anymore.
And personally I’d like this “business” to not try their hand at more Race War stories, because I personally think they suck and don’t make much sense.
So seeing Alliance and Horde Races in a Bar drinking some Beers and eating Peanuts it’s better… wooooooooooooowwwwwwww so interesting that really gives me Hype over 9000
I mean that Alliance and Horde conflicts in Zones and not a War between them with Thoushand Soldiers to Siege Orgrimmar or Stormwind, that mini conflicts in Zones must continue
yeah exept, as alliance you had no real interaction whit the horde still, night elfs, where fighting the warsong, and the humans was fighting the trolls in stranglethorne, and the dwarfs vs tauren was pretty much horde side only, and none realy had any interaction whit the other factions, exept some quests and that was it, but then again there was no true war in classic eighter.
I’d welcome cross-faction content so i could play with more friends. It would also help Alliance PvE scene. We don’t need formal peace, players should still be able to attack opposite faction if they wished to. Somebody in different thread proposed “peace mode” where players in the same mode could group up, but players that opted out of this mode could still attack opposite faction. I think it would be elegant solution.
