Apparently there is a so called “Devilsaur mafia” that runs 24/7 in un’goro. Uses mercenaries to take contesters out, using both horde and alliance accounts, grief, sheep, sap, etc. whatever means necessary to stop others from tagging/skinning the devilsaurs.
This will get even worse when the layers go away permanently.
Is this bannable? No idea. If you can’t see devilsaurs or the leathers are bought and re-listed by 1 person, this is the reason.

Didn’t you got the memo? It’s a meme not much of a reality. The price for devilsaur leather ranges from 4 to 20g depending on faction and realm. Yes, on some it’s around 20g due to high demand and stronger guilds trying to control the prices but there is no copy paste devilsaur mafia and on many realms demand for devilsaurs isn’t as high to drive the prices up.
I read smwhere it’s bannable. So if u see some clear x faction collusion going on, or some pattern, u should report it. On the bigger realms devilsaur cartel will be very hard to pull off i think
start your own mafia, there is always a pvp solution. these people put alot of there time to get this going and u just want to get ez gold. there is no ez gold with other people putting more effort into something than u.
Its nothing but dreams and hopes,u just call the people in chat or un’goro to mess with them and people will do it,just for the sake of reaction and spite,do that for a week and ul break there cycle.And then all you need is someone with alot of gold from selling raid items going nuts with the devilsours and the “mafia” dream is over…
Never mind the competition,i dont even need to mention the Fellwood water elemental farm spots,that are camped for watter essence that goes for 25g.
It’s very much the reality on Firemaw. Pretty much a copy from Nostalrius. They are colluding cross faction to gank for eachother and they have 100+ players ready from several guilds with sappers if they get contested with people on both faction that will spy for them. They earn A LOT of gold from this that they will use in phase 2 for more cross faction collusion over honor farming and world bosses. They can even see where people are as ghosts and where they ress with cross faction spies streaming for them.
I left Firemaw 2 days ago. You are either part of that mafia or you never get close to a world boss.
Look, just look what the absence of legislation and lack of fear of the inevitable penalty does to humanity. I mean, we all come from developed European countries, being raised in respect for the rule of law, human rights and stuff. And yet we are forming mafias and cartels even in a damn video game! To even think what our countries, our real lives would look like if there was no police, just like in Azeroth. This is terrifying.
But well, it’s kind of cool to see that the mafia is apparently a thing in this game. Greatest achievement of the Classic community. Are there any mafias on retail servers? Hah…
I don’t care about Mafia. It doesn’t exist in Classic and even if they exist, i’m fine with that. Never saw a mafia on Shazzrah at the moment.
What I care more is people who try to steal your skin when you loot your dead Devilsaur. It always happen with guys from your own faction who are selfish guys.
What I do to counter them when i saw someone try do to that on my Devilsaur that I pulled & killed ? I post on server Discord a screenshot + a gold bounty for anyone who camp it for 1 hours into graveyard untill they disconnect. Then, I paid the opposite faction with neutral auction house when it’s done with the skin I got . I don’t care about faction collusion, when someone is a retard guy who try to fist his own faction, you use retard method.
Across layers?, and they can afford to pay 100+ players and that they have to have engineering? World bosses split across so many is also as if there was no mafia. Plus DM will provide steady income stream devaluing what they earn from devilsaur (and if they are at Un’Goro they aren’t farming BiS or other resources). Leaving such realm is best idea. Some can take a video game to seriously.
To give 1k gold to 100 players by selling leather 20g each they would need 5000 kills. Less if they cheat and multiskin every devilsaur - but that could attract the ban hammer.

We gathered 65 normal players to have some fun world pvp. They still had like 2:1 with 100% mounts and sappers and Horde spies that streamed our location for them, even as ghosts, to defend their assets. They have done these things for years.
If you dont contest them and plan on doing any world boss, you will hardly notice them, except when you pay 300% more for devilsaur gear.
I think its cool with hardcore and skilled pvp players, but cross faction collusion, no thanks.
Look 100 people are alot,but i even doubt they have 20 to watch that all day and time,and then there is the supply and demand for the logistics of it.Also if you are spending all your time watching devilsours then you are not doing something else in the game,other stuff will rise in the AH.I joined a guild and people in it pretty mutch dont want you to have anything regarding devilsoul,so if this guild is like that,what does that mean for the Mafia?if none want to buy them,and they have to have people on payroll? not to mention shady stuff inside the Mafia(quee any gangester movies ever)
