A lot of people seem to be using remote access to WoW and keep their characters logged in while not doing anything else, if you can’t play properly you shouldn’t be able to keep yourself online.
Plain and simple, disable or make a workaround for it so people can’t keep themselves online at work etc.
Same with scripts and macros, should not work to just keep yourself online.

It’s actually very tedious to keep yourself online with remote access.
There have been changes to the amount of keystrokes that are needed to reset the kick timer.
You’d basically have to move every 10-20 and check constantly whether or not you’re disconnected.
It’s near impossible, unless you don’t actually do your job.
So i wait for the queue’s to reach the amount of hours i need, so i can turn it off and let the queue run.
So i’m logged on by the time i arrive at home.
Sorry if this is a problem to you.
But staying INGAME with remote access is a chore and i doubt many will succeed.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a chore or not, you’re not supposed to be able to remote control to just keep yourself out of afk in game.
If they can’t get online after work, they should change to a less populated server.
how would they disable chrome remote desktop, or any of the other 100 3rd party apps that allow you to control your pc from distance? do you think blizzard owns the internet?

Last night’s patch did something to macros and scripts already, wouldn’t surprise me if support for teamviewer/chrome remote got changed aswell.
^^ This.
Exactly what I do. Queue just before leaving the office, Get home and have 10mins of queue time, enough to get in, grab a drink, take a piss.

Let me just say that this is not how computers work. It will be impossible for Blizzard to disable remote control, because that has nothing to do with the WoW client or Battlenet client…

No. I know people who use this method to add themself on queue at some point while theyre at work and they cant be on PC
remote access has nothing to do with wow. is a windows feature and the thing is that with remote access you are on your pc, that’s the point of remote access. what Blizzard can do? track down people to see where they are? lol
this forum is getting better and better by the minute

Don’t [clap] play [clap] on [clap] Streamer [clap] servers [clap] lol
I know couple people who uses remote control from work to get into the que so when they get back to home they can get to play.
Remote control is great for those who actually have a life
Impossible. Blizzard can’t really prevent players from accessing their pc remotely, they probably can’t even detect it.

first off no one demanded punishment… they just want the 3rd party softwares disabled ingame….
the way u guys found is basicly just fueling the ongoing fire… its not a fix but a thing that increase the alrdy ongoing problem… if they disabled these programs then alot more ppl could actually try and play the game instead of it being exclusive to jobless, home working and ppl who use these programs to force them to stay ingame….
Even if they could detect it. there are legit reasons for it like Home servers and Services like shadow that give you gaming PC performance on potato hardware by Remote access.
They can’t disable Remote desktop from working. They couldn’t do it before against the botters they cant do it now. Plus its legit and people would have legit reasons other then logging in. The best they can do it make a rule about it. But sorry Being able to RD log in on the way home is not evil lol. Just do it yourself

That’s simply not doable.

Remote access to windows or any other operating system is not something that can be measured in-game. when you remote access and click with mouse to connect to game, you move you own mouse, its like someone is in your pc. the only way to track this down is to spy on people and see if they are physically on the pc location
i understand that perfectly fine… but then again… its not rocket science to go to Crossroads and se the hundreds ppl in each layer standing afk moving 1 step forward each couple of mins of go to thunderbluff or other safe area and see the countles of ppl just standing there fisihing and moving in odd patterns with click to move xD
yea, that is another thing and i agree with monitoring afk illegal programs.
remote access can only be used to get in queue earlier. nothing more
