Oh damn he is going to find out about the googly eyes now that i placed there.

I don’t disagree but are you saying that WoW and League of Legends art(as well as art of nearly any modern game these days) depicts ‘realistic’ proportions and standards then? Or Tale of the Cryptids? Just look above you, look at that void elf rogue right there. That’s one in a million young women look like that during a span of maybe a couple of years or even just a couple of months during cutting season.

You think generalisations regarding sexuality do not work? Well, they are definitely much harder to prove than let’s say testing the hypothesis that ‘the average male is taller than the average female’ but the trends definitely exist. You want living proof, see what has happened to Twitch.

I also do not disagree with your statement regarding female magazines, btw, but the body female magazines depict is not the body depicted in comic books. Fashion magazines flaunt the borderline anorexic body while comic book style art these days depicts the nearly impossible to attain figure of a top athlete mixed with that of a pnstar.

Once again, if you take a good look at how League of Legends art has ‘evolved’ you -should- notice a very clear trend of how they tend to draw the art of their female characters, and how some of the female characters that used to be fairly ‘average’ looking have turned into basically pnstar cosplay versions of themselves(take Ashe, for example).

Or look up some of the art for Tale of the Cryptids. There is a very clear pattern, that’s the modern standard. Hourglass figure, tear-shaped breasts, round pear-shaped bottom, long legs, thin waist.

Also it is true that men don’t really pressure women to be like that as they are generally a-ok with a fairly average looking woman but the media is all about ‘min-maxing’ so they will try to depict the female figure at its most flattering because that’s what earns them clicks and thus revenue. And these depictions that are meant to make men click do make women uncomfortable sometimes. Eating disorders are out of control these days, and are often linked to low self-esteem.

So the fact that we see ‘hourglass figure’ or ‘toned but curvy’ so much in TRPs is not a clear sign of what could be construed as a general preference? Nearly every female model having a fairly curvy figure along with a pair of plump and round breasts isn’t an indication of a trend? LoL art? Modern bikini contests? Show me a popular game that clickbaits people with images of old ladies or obese ladies.

Wow did once with princess theradrass.

Yea no, I will even further your point which was similar to my own:

this problem exists to this day on AD and in RP in general just in another form. San’layn, dragons and I don’t know what other examples is what some people roleplayed in the past and probably still today. Once you get a chance to talk with these characters they are the most one dimensional thing ever.

Same goes for people that put more emphasis on how a character looks instead of how much personality said character has.

This can range from the IC noble snob that shooshs everyone away because “not in my league” and then logs off after 3 hours of sitting afk in SW wondering why nobody approaches to the 1-word-reply “wonder”. Conversating is hard and I notice that many people can’t do that IRL which transform over to RP. It’s not very hard to get my attention in RP or an ongoing conversation. Though if you give me the most boring replies then a conversation is not happening. So please, more emphasis on a characters personality and to have interesting things to say instead of their looks.

People like what they like, usually good looking men and women. Get over it people. Let them play what they want. Also, we’ve all been Nelox-ed apparently.

Not really a problem.
As long as they aren’t obviously only out for ERP and walk around without pants, then get offended when they’re called out, they give whatever description they want to their character.
The one small thing that bugs me a little, is the “extremely beautiful, even by elven standards”, but meh, whatever.
