Discussion: Perfect Females

Adding to this, there’s a Netherwing dragon who has taken the shape of a goblin as well.

Really loving the STILL ALIVE TREND of calling women females instead, doesn’t feel weird and iffy at all, big fan of that one. (!)

Lets compromise and just say ‘‘Girls’’ instead.

Something like that. Kael was too much of an elf to appeal to her.

Yeah… I mean, Im a guy and this whole ‘trend’ just feels really weird. I mean, with animals or creatures, sure; a Dragon or Naga can be male or female. But… Dwarven or Elven man, Human or Gnomish woman. Its not hard.

To be honest, most people in this thread haven’t been using female as a noun. Only ones guilty of it are Nelox with the thread title, the people who quoted the thread title and Brigante.

Otherwise, the word ‘female’ has been used correctly throughout most of the thread.

If I remember correctly during the early development stages of WoW the female counterparts for the more beastly races (e.g. Trolls, Tauren, Orcs…) used to have a ‘less pretty’ appearance, more akin to their male counterparts.

But said models were received poorly by the play testers and deemed ‘too ugly’. Thus we ended up with the weird gender dimorphism in the character models we see today, were the males are all diverse and unique and the females look like a copy-paste with extra hooves or tusks.

It’s a bit of a shame, but in the end blizzard just gave the people what they wanted, for once.

Och sorry lad ah forgot that ah was flawless

Thats a fair point but I don’t think I have seen any Elf “opposite type”. Like imagine a night elf neckbeard walking around, I mean, half their playerbase already is so can’t be too hard.

Oh, I wasn’t talking about, like, everyone in this thread. The title itself made me groan and goes to show that folk still do it, even if ironically really

Look at this fine specimen:

He has a neckbeard and a permanent limp.

Male and female generally aren’t used as nouns though, except when there isn’t an appropriate noun for an entity that is male or female.

When the alternative is calling female gnomes, goblins, worgen, tauren, etc ‘women’ or ‘ladies’, I really don’t see an issue with just saying female. It’s just a word, really.

Could beauty be the first step of a utopia-Stormwind?

Yeah, I’m that good

I’d argue that it’s needlessly clinical on top of being grammatically incorrect, but I guess this boils down to opinion.
