“you are not prepared!” said Illidan to Sargeras as he raised his controller.
“Father!!! Is it… Over?”
“Yes my son. Arfus chewed through the controller cable”
“I see… Only darkness before… me…”
And Invincible stomped his screen in
I remember playing an online game of Street Fighter 4 on my Xbox 360 and I suddenly lost control, thought my controller had died.
Then I saw my dog sit up from where she was lying at my feet with a chewed cable hanging from her lip with the other end still attached to the 360 and the end which fell from her lip attached to a now dead controller in my hand.
Yes a few expletives were yelled.
It was a 3rd party cheap controller from Amazon, only about 10 bucks or so but I had to go and order a new one.
Been there, the Ancient Anglo-Saxon profanities were uttered a few times
(NO idea why the post suddenly decided to add the entire OP but there we go…)
Hey dad… it’s been half n ahour and you haven’t walked me since half n hour ago. Why are you playing that?"
chomp
Yeah we need an add on to ward from spiteful pets getting the way of gaming
I believe the addon is called ‘foot up animal’s jacksie’ - i jest of course, much as my plethora of pets annoy me at the most inconvenient times
First of all, if we look at the universe, you as an individual, have no importance in terms of nature of things you are just a result but play no important role what-so-ever, although we can make our experience enjoyable, it is just an illusion made up by the mind. This is the uncomfortable truth most people don’t like to face. In the grand scale of the universe, where maybe trillions of stars, galaxies beyond counting, endless cycles of creation and destruction, a single human life doesn’t even register as a flicker. You are just an outcome of chance, biological sequences that happened to align in a tiny corner of the universe for an infinitesimal moment. And yet you seem to push out all of these things from your corrupted and fragmented brain, which by the way is a result of the past projecting itself into this now moment where you, for some reason, decided to just this which you do right now instead of something else. Like brushing your teeth for instance.
That is my fear also if the gameplay does not feel as good with all of these spells being removed and no choice nodes etc dont like the look of things atm but still waiting to see what blizzard go ahead with if its bad im sure mabye they will add things back in the last titan so midnight will be a skip expansion.
Why would they? It’s not the current devs who allowed addons in the first place. The current team decided to finally stop this never-ending circle.
And yes, their UI is nowhere near as good as some we use daily. But if addons were never allowed from the start, everyone would be using the same UI now and no one would complain, because they simply wouldn’t know any different. Or maybe over the years, players would have pushed the devs to improve and invest heavily into the base UI instead.
I never said addons mean autopilot. What I’m saying is that the game has become almost unrecognizable because of addons. You can barely see the base game underneath all the layers we keep adding on top of it (and I’m guilty of that too). My UI looks nothing like the original Blizzard UI anymore.
But still, I kind of miss the simplicity of playing without all that extra stuff, going back to how the game originally felt.
Another issue is that the difficulty of the content keeps rising because addons keep getting better. Honestly, if I were Blizzard and it was my game, I’d do the same thing. I’d cut all that off at the root and start fresh.
Blizzard should never have let it get this far, and that’s on them. But now that they’ve decided to shut everything down, we should stop crying on forums and Reddit and instead push them to improve their own UI.
Their game, their rules.
In the eyes of the universe our lives don’t matter and in our eyes what happens in the universe doesn’t matter. Funny how that works.
And today I went to the second store because the other one had its servers down and you could only pay cash. I ate that day which could be because your friend thought he could do a mythic dungeon at +11 as resto druid. but as the pull happened we could clearly see that this was not the case.
But he has Zekvir ??. Doesnt that mean he is god tier?
he bought a boost because you cannot defeat zekvir as a healer on (??) difficulty.
Can’t buy boosts for solo content.
yes but the part you and many others in this thread seem to not understand is the dynamic between producer and consumer … you cant force ppl to buy your product if its garbage
removing addons without addressing the ui and class/encounter complexity ( which seems to be the direction we are heading atleast so far ) is going to turn this whole situation into a cluster F that is unstable and hard to restabilize , its gonna be shadowlands 2.0 again a whole expansion of just trying to recover from the explosion that could have easily been avoided …
again im not a fan of addons i dont like them … but if you gonna design stupid encounters like fractilius and ovinax and hard dungeons like Floodgate/priory and on top of that be dumb enough to let your players vote for them while disabling all combat/ui addons is enough for me to call it
But we still haven’t seen what they’re actually going to design in the next expansion. And yeah, you don’t have to buy it if you don’t want to. I don’t see them forcing anyone to purchase anything.
Also, my dude, I do understand what you’re talking about. But you also need to understand something from the other side:
If I have a product that is heavily influenced by third parties, and I no longer want to invest time and money just to keep up with those third parties, then I have the right to reset that product in a way that suits me.
Whether that ends up being a good decision or not, we’ll see. Whether the community ends up satisfied or disappointed, we’ll also see. But it’s still my product, not yours. Like it or not, that’s how the world works.
no thats not how the whole world works buddy thats the part you dont get we are living in a hyper competitive era its not 1965 anymore , in this era you wont even have a product at all to begin with if you are not providing good quality … the only reason this game has lasted this long while making so many mistakes is that it has no competition + nostalgia ! thats it end of story i have talked about this many times in my other posts wow does not survive because of how good the devs are doing wow survives because its WOW .
those so called third parties influencing the game was the job that they should have done in the first place … those guys have been filling the stupid gaps created by our dear company and its developers -Buzzard Entertainment- and now all of a sudden they decided to go to school on a saturday ( or friday depend on where you live ) and clean up the mess themselves , they are doing all these things in the hope of attracting new players and potential player retention which is a smart move ! on they’re part …
but again time and time they have proven to be failing again and again and again everytime they try to innovate and come up with new ideas , look my man this world is not fair and blizzard devs just dont have it … they got no talent or creativity thats just cold brutal facts right there , and the netcode also sucks on top … constant bugs etc
i was watching some interview a few days ago and they had like a 70 year old granny working as some kind of dev or part of the team , i mean i dont wanna be rude but what the hell ? did we run out of young talent so quickly ?
Buddy, you keep repeating the same emotional rant dressed as logic. You talk about a “hyper competitive era” but somehow ignore that this game still dominates that same era without any real competition. So which is it then, competition or nostalgia? Decide, because you can’t have both. The fact that it continues to thrive despite every so-called “mistake” already proves how wrong your premise is.
Addons existed because Blizzard allowed them, not because players saved the game. When a company decides that outside influence has gone too far, it has every right to take back control of its own product. That’s not outdated thinking, that’s how ownership and creative direction actually work.
And the irony is, by admitting the game survives purely because it’s WoW, you just confirmed my entire point. It’s their creation, their rules, their results. You don’t like it, you move on.
You can. The market is MMORPGs, currently WoW is on top of what it has to offer and other Mmos dont even come close to that. However that does not stop playwrs from leaving, if the game fails to deliver on what it was offering it will no longer be top in its market. For WoW specifically its combat and encounter design, and he is right the devs have failed to polush those 2 features hence the need for addons to band aid the mistakes. Now taking away the addons might destroy those 2 features due to years of neglect.
