It’s a pure joke that Blizzard have not applied any logic to Dragonflight class design… It’s very well documented that one of the main reasons that Battle for Azeroth, and Shadowlands was an absolute failure was borrowed power however the developers have not even looked at the reason borrowed power terrible outside of “it’s not tied to player power” but another huge factor which blizzard have fallen too before is "PLAYER POWER"
There is a reason why Classic has an equal player base to retail even though it has virtually no quality of life. and this is because the class design & power are CLEAR AND SIMPLE
In Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands you added such a massive level of power to external sources which double dipped into awfulness because we essentially had to farm it, however in Dragonflight you have absolutely took away the external power but you’ve just created a new talent system with such an insane amount of power within them the balance is absolutely horrid.
When you have classes that now have access to every single talent that they once had could only take a 3rd and you’ve given classes the ability to stack multiple offensive abilities they originally never could access has no made the classes survival and burst next level. Dragonflight will be impossible to balance and any expansion after Dragonflight will make the game absolutely unplayable as you’ll have to add more powerful abilities or just have to go down the prune route.
I fully stand by the return of talent trees but I think the overall design of Dragonflight talent tree will cause such balance / power shift that this expansion is going to be awful.
p.s the pre patch and beta only proves the above for me
The biggest problem in DF is that many classes are just way too complex compared to something like WTLK.
Having to do constant math like, okay now it´s 3 targets so I have to use XYZ rotation, oh wait now it´s 2, gotta do ZYX, og wait 5 targets now YXZ roation. Okay now single target so XYZA rotation.
Like it´s just way too much. For large AOE just have rain of fire / hellfire AOE abilities it´s fine not having to do some rotation you literally have to practice on a dummy to be able to do optimally.
But hey at least the e-sport bros can get off I guess.
I already said all this over a year ago where I said that they will rush DF and get it out in 2022 and all of you refused to believe it because Blizzard groomed you into thinking that they changed.
DF will be a huge flop and a couple of forum fanboys glorifying every stupid mount will not change it. The forum playerbase is utterly worthless and irrelevant. Those are just the addicts who keep their sub up cause they get anxiety if they cannot log on WoW when they’re feeling depressed.
The people who matter are the silent majority who one day logs on, decides that they are bored and then they quietly leave. Those people matter, not anyone here. They won’t come to the forum nor will they fill out a questionnaire to explain why the game sucks. They’ll be gone playing better games because they are true gamers. Unlike people here who only play WoW and have been doing so for the last 15 years of their depressing life.
So are you retri? Dont ask they change it you are in a place where many people want to be right now, your talent trees are in a good place considering other classes atm. Elemental shaman, shadow priest, guardian druid for example are much in a state of worse then you AS RETRIBUTION PALADIN.
Which class works like that ? Usualy yhere is ST and aoe rotation, and then somehing like based on 3-5 targets or more, wouldnt call that complex realy .
Then there are also classes (specs) where all your rotations are same so…
Complex? Seriously? I created a character in Classic Wrath while I was bored before pre-patch, got to level 10 and opened the talent tree… then had no clue what to do with my talent point. I wanted to do damage as a cat, but I didn’t even have cat form yet, and there were no talents available that looked they would benefit me in any way as a cat.
I remembered not having a clue where to put talent points back when I started playing when Wrath was new, but I thought my years of experience would help me to understand how to create a talent build for a spec I’d never played before.
I got to level 13 before I was even more bored of Classic Wrath than I was of pre-pre-patch retail, and I still had no clue what to do with my talent points. No cat form either.
