df pvp is like a zoo
Blizzard absolutely let it down this xpac I have never seen such low quality and lack of engagment at all and it just makes me not trust the company to make the next xpac worth playing.
That’s absolutely not true first two seasons we got the most frequent PvP changes ever.
They actually put the most effort into PvP this expac. Unfrotunately they abandoned it this season. For some reason they do more changes to Plunderstorm and SoD. I don’t blame them SoD became a huge success and I wouldn’t be surprised if more people played it now thant retail but saying this is the worst PvP expac with least attention is absolute lie and nonsense.
It is for me… even with frequent changes we still had Rogues with their usual 1 shot macros same for Ele and same for other specs, every season we have a new OP spec that ruins it for the rest and for Feral more specifically we still live with the worst class tree in the game so far its like playing the whole xpacs with ~4 less points compared to the rest.
Not to mention the other quality bugs like addons being broken for almost all xpac and every new patch you have to fight the UI or you cant play etc…
And BTW this season is like 6 months already so a big portion of the xpac
Which Rogue one shot? Sub? You just have to care to for Shadow Blades. Outlaw? There is no one shot really and Assassination - there is just Kingsbane? If you want to do well into Rogues care on Shadow Dance and you’re fine. Ele one shot? You got cheesed probably. You have to learn when to care for that. That would be either casted Lava Bursts or Stormkeeper. Feral isn’t that bad it’s just unfun and clunky to play. I completely understand why people hate it but it’s not that bad. You can play it in 3s. RSS probably would be extremely hard but still.
Game has been going this direction quietly since MOP though, some classes are more prominent than others. MOP was the first time boomie basically became a instant caster since the only thing they had of value to kick back then was cyclone, as star surge became instant finally then.
Destro lock and demo was basically instant casters minus 1-2 spells respectively per class / spec
fire mage is still as it is now, as it was then. Holy priest pseudo lost its chakras.
Monk and feral druid have no way to close down their burst as disarm does basically nothing to them respectivley, and if it does anything its so minor you dont notice it.
Only way to mend the path is to remove the shuffle/blitz queues and try mending / pushing the good things about shuffle into rated 2’s & 3’s else the queues are going to be even quieter come war within. The class specific ranked trees are very cool, the auto queue function is very cool, but thats about it. Its so ooga booga because the prominent classes never seem to have a off switch, unless you can make them sit in CC long enough to stabilise which is a struggle in its own right in 2’s where you default start at 20-30% damp
Also we need real pvp devs for class designers,not just pve /class designers like joe bloggs stepping in, giving paladin a rework and basically giving all rets free glad+ for multiple DF seasons.
Not sure how people can call wows class kits over bloated, most of the stuff has barely changed if at all since mop, we had odd job spells stay but even then only a handful actually stuck around since they became integral to the spec after that expansion.
also arena 1,2,3 macros are very easily do-able, if your class has a 1,2,3 rotation like DH and all of your kit is so overloaded cause of how little there is to actually do yes friend showed me his bars on his max level dh, theres barely enough spells to cover 2 bars if that.

I’d argue buddy. Begining of MoP was one of the biggest clown fiestas I’ve ever experienced. First of all they didn’t predict that by adding another damage modified with PvP power it will grow to the level of 1-2 shots. 2nd of all BM Hunter was bugged. 4 extra pets from Stamped should deal 25% damage but they dealt 100% damage in arena. On top of it BW made them immune and 5x Spirit Beast gave Hunter so much healing it was invincible for the duration. Warrior with 5 stacks Taste for Blood were dealing 300 k while people were 350 k with full gear. They weren’t the only specs doing this. Ferals, Rets, Enha, Frost Mages even MM were all cappable of doing this. Then they released upgrades to the PvP items but they forgot to change Fist Weapons which I happen to play. Then they increased PvP Power on weapons and again forgot about Fist Weapons.
MoP was saved in the middle of it by Holinka. He became PvP dev because he posted a lot about changes that should be made on Twitter and people supported him. Also keep in mind that MoP was the end of battlegroups era. Back in Wrath/Cata you were literally able to reach 3k in a Battlegroup not a whole ladder. In S14 highest CR world was 2600 in NA. There weren’t that many changes in fact.
And Legion - I’m still salty about the expac as they removed all utility from my spec. No Grounding on Ele or Enha, no Tremor just PvE damage. I never like Legion and I’d never play it again. In terms of changes they were quite freequent but more than 1st season DH? I doubt. Also keep in mind that they weren’t that good. After first season they literally had to remove 35% agility from Assassination Rogue template.
I think that they really try but I’m not a fan of their decisions. Skill-capped released the video on everything that’s wrong with PvP atm. And I was saying these things for quite some time. Too much mobility and micro CC. The issue with CC isn’t duration but the amount. Let’s look at Warrior for example: you either had Storm Bolt or Double Charge. At the moment you not only have both but shorter CD on Heroic Leap and Shockwave. Mobility I get it - every spec has to be able to dodge M+ mechanics and to do the key in time. In Legion they introduced mobs in dungs that have uninterruptable casts that you have to CC so we have CC bloat as well. At the same time casted CC like Poly has little value.

in bfa shurikan toss did 90% of my hp then bm/warri was completely broken op for months, and onetapped u
shadowlands ssn1 u saw 3x rogue at frontpage (r1) viable
legion ssn1 where php was unkillable and a free glad for every php andy
shadowlands season 1 u played 24/7 against ret/warri and it was just an autolose for some comps, doesnt matter how good u play
wod ssn1 u only faced gladiator stance warris, what killed u with just spaming shield slam
tbc ssn1 u died instantly to every bm or pom mage, dmg was just unhealable
close to every first season was a joke, it´s just an pve game, BUT in previous xpacs u saw more class tuning changes for pvp and pve, but i agree that we saw more and faster changes in df compared to bfa and shadowlands
but sadly they just stopped now, im pretty sure, they got hit by the layoffs
Yes but in DF season 1 there were changes every 2 weeks if you remind yourself. It changed season 2. Still I’ve never experienced such frequent PvP changes like DF.
And truely S12 was one of the biggest clown fiestas in the game I’ve ever experienced. Shuriken Toss in BFA was indeed stupid but nothing close to being one tapped by pets coming from stealth that are immune to CC, roots or slows. If this wasn’t enough Warrior also was immune to everything during Avatar back then and unless you had your CDs Second Wind was so strong you couldn’t take him down if he dropped below 35%. If this wasn’t enough there was glyph of Gag Order. Pummel and Heroic Throw blanket silenced people. So in case you missed your kick you weren’t worried anyway. The issue in that season was such state lasted 2 months. Nobody gave a precog about it… DF overall in terms of how much effort they put was huge quality maybe besides this season. Problems with DF are reworks, ability bloat, cc changes and mmr deflation. Still it’s an improvement over not fixing locks for whole BFA or other broken specs for long months. Outlaw and H Priest in SL lasted longer, Turbo in WoD lasted longer.
Hot take DF PvP would have a hugh amount of active player if the season just have a high inflated MMr and raiting where EZ too get

u only had a assa/shadow season for months, then the ret rework, then season 2 we had a aug evoker apocalypse

about bfa, the most problematic thing was just the pve stuff. like tank items voidstone corruption, and ofc destro locks, this was kinda insane that they got zero nerfs for straight 14 months
i dont want to be negative here, dont get me wrong bro, but it seems like to me, that they only made so fast “changes” because many specs where so underwhelming bad designed, because devs didnt had the time to finish the class tree in the beta
and they changed pretty much around solo shuffle, what also caused problems for the future, like micro cc
that micro cc have a higher value, than other cc´s except clone, they just made really many changes only around solo shuffle, and damaged the game for 2v2 and 3v3 even more, so they also made some of bad changes
atleast they fixed dh after 2-3 months
If there are no changes Destru will be weak buddy and demo will take over. Keep in mind that their set resetting Rifts is gone and Rifts are huge source of instant damage. You cannot LoS it etc. In the next season they get an increased Crit chance from 2 set and 8% more Crit damage as 4 set. Keep in mind that between season 1 and 2 Crit damage was lowered in PvP. Same thing goes for R Shaman. Meta will shift a lot. Preservation Evoker will be one of the best healer due to an insane set bonus. Survival and WW will get stronger as well. So meta will shift a lot. Maybe Survival/Prevoker Jungle will be good again for you. Definetely not the same season.

would be cool, i mean i have seen jungles at 2.4+ but most likely with mm hunt and idk mm hunt feels weird and clunky to play with
yeah i give the next season def a try, i wish they could do something with the trinket set change, or remove the increases stamina thing, or do something to healer mana games

bfa season 1 was really nice, after that, I think PvP has never been as bad as in BFA
so dont get me wrong, i dont say df is completely shi… without changes or something, but i just wish it is as good as legion was, but legion was just a “golden era” of wow?
ah, and i hope they make with tww sets for pvp and pve, or only pve, so we wouldnt have the balance issue in the first place
