“Providing primary Mythic+ players with more of the sense of exploration and progression each season that Raiders get to enjoy with new raids.”
“Much of the fun of Mythic+ comes from seeing yourself get better and better at playing a dungeon through experience, but opportunities to learn and improve become more scarce the longer a dungeon stays active in the pool.Keeping the level of effort required to get the best rewards consistent season over season.”
“Learning a new raid can be fun and challenging, but the relative ease of completing Mythic+ dungeons that everyone mastered last season can create heavy social pressure to spend time in Mythic+ gearing up even if it’s not your preferred activity.”
Is this a good change? What are your thoughts on this? Why would ever raid if you can just get your highest level gear in M+?
Because you don’t? Clearing +20 as weekly will get you 421 ilvl in vault, the last 2 bosses on mythic will give you 424 ilvl items.
Did you look into the ilvls at all? Clearing +20 will be like boss 5/6 of mythic, so it’ll be better than farming the first boss over and over on mythic but still a little worse than clearing the full raid.
You can literally check the loot tables on wowhead. If you don’t want to do that I’m more than happy to login to the beta and get you screenshots when I’m home from work.
And even then, the middle bosses drop 421, which is on par. I would guess there are very few slots that won’t be at least 421 if you get everything you want from the raid.
M+ will get you 421 from the vault and 415 from valor, which I’m expecting will be capped for most of the season. 415 is also what the early mythic bosses drop.
There is a lot of feelycrafting here, but my conclusion is that someone who regularly runs +20s will have gear (ilvl-wise) like a raider in a “middling” mythic guild; one that doesn’t kill the final bosses, and will not be far behind one that clears the entire raid. The beauty is that m+ won’t rely solely on vault drops to keep this pace, as valor upgrades can now get you all the way to [the weakest level of] mythic raid gear.
OK so for a Tank DK:
Again 2 bosses drop guaranteed 424 boss 7 and boss 8
From Boss 7 you can get a DPS trinket and a vers/mast waist.
From Boss 8 you can get another DPS trinket, Crit/vers Wrists and a Crit/vers 2H-Axe
Both drop a piece of Tier too.
After that you have the chance to get 424 loot from the boss 5-6, which is not guaranteed. And I’m not even sure if they have the chance to proc the ilvl upgrade at all, As I can’t find information on it.
From Boss 5 you can get a chests which you likely replace for Tier. and another DPS trinket
From Boss 6 Haste/Mast Boots, a Haste/Mast 2H-Mace and a tanking trinket.
all in all you have maybe guaranteed 5 slots filled with 424
then you have the chance to fill 2 other slots with 424 IF they proc the Higher Ilvl.
And this only takes into account to actually beat the Mythic raid.
Which if I look at your DK you haven’t really done in SL
First of all, why I haven’t raided in SL has nothing to do with DF or what pieces are available for drops. Second off, you’re missing items but don’t worry I’ll link you when I’m home!
Raiding is hardcore to schedule around if you are a working person. Not impossible but hard to do it if you want to chill
M+ is not limiting you from playing and it’s everyday activity instead of 1 per week or 2-3 if you have alts.
Theoratically you can, but it will never happen. Not even close.
With 16 slots, and being completely lucky every week you still look at 4 months. But nobody is that lucky. (and probably not that many people are able to do +20 from week 1)
