Dragonflight Talent Previews - Hunter and Rogue

Apologies if you think I have it in for you but I don’t, these forums are full of negativity no matter what Blizz says and you coming here saying its not great is a form of negativity, maybe @ Onimaru is right and you should try something new… Or at least try not to take the game so seriously.

I understand it’s all alpha and stuff… but… can we have someone on the team who is actually playing the game? It’s kinda pointless to have people designing talents who are not even playing the game…
Also, it’s not fun wasting skill points on useless talents just to get to the good ones… Some streamers have already pointed that out, so I am not going to repeat it here.

Please bring back Wild Spirits for BM Hunters. Love the glasscannon play style that came with it.

There is nothing wrong with having lots of the covenant abilities in one tree. We need more of them, not less.

#GiveBackWildSpirits

Rogue looks awesome, Hunter is ok but again, give back Wild Spirits …

The game will be so complicated with those talent trees though. Adding more talents isn’t good I think. Better would be to just make the talents from hunters more fun. I think, that the rogue talent tree has too many talents tbh, even though they are all really epic

The solution is a simple as pvp being balanced as its ecosystem but players complained aboot spells not feeling the same in pvp and Pve so the community is to blame.

I know I want barrage (best for solo farming), I know i want intimidation and bestial wrath… not sure this is the best spec but no idea how to get the best spec if i want the talents i like

That’s all your assumptions.
You just can’t know whether or not they play the game.

I disagree in part. Sure, it’s not fun if you have to sink way too many points into things you don’t want, but some is fine; it makes your choice matter.

Would you really rather just be able to pick anything, without requirements, without having to dedicate at least a little bit towards a goal? To me THAT sounds very boring; choice without consequence.

I’d much rather see flayed shot; it was more interesting gameplay afaic.
But if Wild Spirits would return, I’d REALLY, REALLY want to see a glyph where it changes the magic-y stuff into a swarm of birds or insects that attack the targets. Wild Spirits as it stands, feels like a (balance) druid skill, not a hunter one; certainly not a beastmaster one.

I read the talents…

Choice should matter, of course but you should not be forced to pick useless talents in order to get useful ones.

And why does it have to be extreme? It’s not just black or white. The Feral and Rdruid trees have proven that it works.
Everyone with a bit of experience can tell the Rogue trees are a disaster. (I mean… did you see the sub tree??? They can’t be for real)
Hunter trees are just… idk… I have no words.

Yeah and you’re making assumptions towards the devs based on that.

There’s nothing that’s really useless, honestly. Just ‘less useful’, or ‘situational’.

Well, it’s important you DO use words.
Because without explaining exactly why you don’t like them; it’s just not useful feedback.

It’s common sense. No way someone who plays the game would design something like that… at least not in his sane mind.

That’s what you think because you have only the PvE pov.
Obviously, the talents are also designed with PvP in mind, idk if you can see that but it’s actually clear. There is literally no reason to take 3 PvE aoe talents for 1 PvP single target talent.
Besides that sub tree is just beyond overpowered… this should have not even made it to any lead designers table, even as an alpha suggestion.

I refuse to believe that you are that naive to think anyone cares about our feedback here… :joy:

No. Common sense is not making assumptions.

Because that’s the pov that matters.
Like it or not: PvP is not and has never been the devs’ main focus.

Sorry. Like I said earlier: WoW is not a good game if you want good PvP.

Then you should be quiet. Because your negative spam doesn’t serve any purpose.

Btw, I got a wonderful idea after our earlier discussion. Think you haven’t found it yet, so I’ll give you the link:

I really love it! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The assumption is made on common sense.
Idk, maybe you are not playing yourself if you don’t understand that?

Again you fail to read properly… I am not saying the talents have to be designed explicitly for PvP. I am saying the talent trees are designed with PvP in mind, that’s a fact…
It has nothing to do about the main focus.

Who exactly are you to tell me what to do?

its only alpha
its only beta
its only prepatch
its only 10.0
its only 10.1
next expansion will fix it

yeah and then what is going to happen is that because everyone plays the pure ST build on a pure ST focused boss, its going to perform too well, blizzard will nerf it, and as a result even the hybrid builds that don’t use it also get gutted proportionally even more.

riveting gameplay design

Assumptions can be made on common sense, but it doesn’t mean those assumptions are true. But, I don’t believe your assumptions are made based on common sense, but rather on emotions and bias.

You want different things because you care about PvP, but the devs need these trees to function in PvE more so than they do in PvP. You have extra PvP talents, they can make sure THOSE are the things that make the complete picture balanced for those who care about that. I don’t want the PvE part of this game to suffer because of PvP. I really don’t.

Don’t see it as being told what to do. Think of it as a suggestion based on common sense.

If you think it’ll never be fixed, why are you still here?

I’m so tired of folks like yourself coming to each and every little bit of news and making it into the coming apocalypse for the game. Just quit. Please. Where is the logic in staying subbed and spewing negativity all the time?

Generally very pleased with the rogue class tree and sub spec. I main sub, so I don’t know too much about outlaw or assa. I see multiple variations of the tree working out for sub rogues in arena. There is room for experimentation which I personally think is great.

The only thing I really dislike is having to take some quite useless talents for the content that I am playing to be able to unlock useful talents below. It would be okay if it was simply one wasted talent point, but in the sub tree you need to take Black Powder, Improved Shuriken Storm, and Replicating Shadows to get Shadowed Finishers. The three firstly mentioned are practically useless in arena, whereas the one they gatekeep is almost mandatory the way sub rogue is played right now.

That is the only thing I am sad about design-wise. Other than that, the trees are a refreshing change imo.

If that’s the whole reason you’re here, then why comment on the rest of the game? If all of it is bad anyway to you. Just ignore the rest of the game then.

I don’t go around making suggestions for M+ or mythic raiding or PvP. Because I don’t care about those activities and most of what I’d have to say about them would be negative. See where I’m getting at?

Maybe you should stop guessing?
You lack game knowledge, therefore you don’t understand my statement. That’s fine. Move on.

No. That’s your guessing. I just made one example.

Again, you fail to understand the basics. Nobody says they have to perfectly function in PvP but there is literally nothing stopping them from having logical setups. Further more, if you had any knowledge about Rogue, you’d understand how stupidly broken the sub tree currently is. It’s so beyond overpowered, it shouldn’t even have made it as a sketch of the alpha version.

It’s pointless to argue with you because you are stubborn, lack game knowledge and common sense. I mean… you don’t even see how op sub is, which has nothing to do with PvP or PvE… like… ugh… it’s just pointless…

Without any offense at all but if you truly believe anyone cares about feedbacks on EU forum, you are an absolute idiot.

Ye… you try to argue about a core design affecting whole end game while lacking every game knowledge possible. Actually insane…
