Removing flying (which won’t happen) isn’t going to make the world feel less dead.
Thats not what he said
With new flying i started to enjoy navigating world because i actually bring in consideration environment: elevation, distance, most safe point to land if i consider mobs too strong to just land into a crowd.
In legion, bfa and SL i was just mostly frustrated with mob density in zones and all my travel was consistent of running to flight master to travel from point a to b and then running to point of interest ignoring 9999 mobs hitting my butt, very engaging gameplay thank you.
You seem to forget we had the whistle in Legion. So you did not have to run to the flight master more than once to learn the location.
They tried to remove regular flying in a previous expansion. People were unsubbing in such high volume that they had no choice but to do a swift u turn. They can’t get rid of flying.
Hopefully this new common sense approach we are seeing also means they’ll stop trying to take things away we like.
It was a cd, and whistle makes my point even better, whistle allowed to interact with traversal in even lesser amounts.
You know that was not the point I was trying to make.
I just meant you did not have to keep running back and forth.
But u are right, that meant even less interaction with the world.
Also Legion is one of the expansions I couldn’t stand due to the size of most areas. Except Suramar, that area remains on of my favorites.
But take Azuna for example. You had this naga war against nelf ghosts and quite literally over a hill there was a legion invasion. I dislike that. DF does it right. All the way. Large areas, relevant distances between important events and a feel of, I want to say realism but I’m not sure that’s the right word. Basically when a zone has a geographical setup that gives it a more natural feel.
Ohh I loved Legion, the zones were really cool, maybe not Krokuun or whatever is called, but the rest were very good.
I am not such a fan of Df zones(the annoying bird noises in Ohnara and I can’t stand the centaurs),except for Azure Span but only cause it has snow and I missed a snowy zone(none in SL).
And they don’t feel large,I said it before, they seem quite small(not as cramped as SL s maw but not that big either.
Have you tried ED…where you literally bump into every branch possible if you DR?
Not a fan myself.
They were not unsubing becouse of flying.
Hell yeah. That’s the crap I like. Slalom flying. Dodging branches, passing through things spaces. I enjoy that. Flying is entertaining for me.
Anyway, try something. Get on your mount, whichever kind and climb up. As high as you can. Then look down. See the whole island/continent. No other expansion, no other clump of zones looks like the Dragon Isles. I’m actually kind of bummed out the next expansion is gonna take place mostly underground and I won’t get to do that.
I hate not having some downtime (thats why ED and DR are quite unpleasant for me.And thats why I don’t do the races either,I can but I just really don’t want to.
I did go high up when I was learning to DR.I like tbc flying more though. But thats just me.
I am not hyped for underground either tbh,not for the same reasons though. Zaralek really soured it badly for me.
I like the fact the WoW has flying. It has it’s plus points and it also has it downsides. I am going to go with unpopular opinion here and say,: I recently played another game that has no flying at all. I found I explored much more of that world than I have of Azeroth. Simply because I was forced to explore via ground mounts. The one thing though they did have that WoW don’t have and that is fast or slow mounts and you can even do combat on your mounts maybe the dev’s should explore this an alternative option.
Though with flying you do get to see the world created from above so maybe both would be good.
Yes they were. The announcement was made and masses unsubbed with the reason removal of flying.
lost all hope for retail, this game just makes me sleep
Just report those people and don’t engage with them man. The sooner all of us ignore them the better.
While I am against removing flying. How do you know this?
The simple fact they introduced “pathfinder”. Nothing else required. The were loosing subs hand over fist. Pathfinder was a way to stop that.
It was where they seriously underestimated the like for flying.
I believe it was quite obvious by the multitudes of writen or ingame protests as well as how they went from “no flying moving forward” into pathfinder and eventually Dynamic flight
Yeah sure, but having an insight on what reasons players give when they hit the unsubscribe button is something entirely different.
Also, these protests never happened in my server. But yes, most people I talked to in-game didn’t like it either.
