Drek'thar and the Frostwolves are Traitors

Fun Fact: This spineless Orc you can actually see in the forsaken ship in Zul’dazar.

And yet here comes Cataclysm…

Following the Shattering the Stormpike dwarves joined forces with the Bloodfang worgen and the Alliance and prepared to invade the Hillsbrad Foothills, which had become predominantly Horde territory.

So it seems that the dwarves actually acted for their faction. Meanwhile the Horde defended Hillsbrad invasion WITHOUT Drek’thar.

But hey MUH HONOR.

It is not like the Horde had commited genocide in the region.

Now single places like Southshore counts as Genocide? Interesting.

All remember the glorious liberation of Hillsbrad from its human inhabitants! How the dark Lady blightbombed Southshore, burned the houses of the human farmers, and then sent them into wow’s equivalent of a concentration camp!

And all this glory was achieved without Drek’thar, I bet he is salty.

…I really don’t understand your argument. Why shouldn’t the dwarves fight the undead attacking their faction’s land? Did anyone say that it would have been wrong for Drek’thar to fight for his faction, if it was attacked?

Well, no. Southshore and Hillsbrad and yes, it was genocide as it targeted an ethnic Group, being the remaining Lordaeronians. Duh.

Yes, but these Lordaeronians had pitchforks. So Drek’thar was needed, pitchforks are dangerous. Thankfully, the dark Lady heroically defeated the rabble!

Poor Erevien took the bulk of the hit for entering a thread, that truth be told, doesn’t exactly welcome dissent or arguments against it.

Even if this does sound like some echo chamber, i’ll leave my take:

We could argue that Drek’thar isn’t really betraying the Horde here, for he is not working against the faction he pledged his people to. He just refused to lend aid to another ally within said faction in a very specific situation. Just like Dwarves weren’t betraying the Alliance for not wanting to waste their soldiers in Pandaria until Varian shamed them to do so.

Just my two cents. Peace out.

People I disagree with=Not welcoming dissent. Seriously, how can we have any argumentation if this is people’s go-to excuse every time they are confronted with ideas they disagree with?

But isn’t he refusing his faction aid in Wartime?

Maybe if he would’ve done that we would no longer have Garrosh apologists. And even back then people accused Vol’jin of being a coward which from an objective point of view he was.

Wasn’t he also a founder of “muh honor” foundation? He clearly knew about Mak’gora. After all Cairne died by following and living by that tradition. (Even Garrosh himself felt cheated because of that poison but that’s another debate). Also we are speaking of the same Garrosh that challenged Thrall himself to a duel was interrupted by the Scourge coming. And in that duel Garrosh won. https://youtu.be/ULaFQwfEy2g?t=112

Truly, you speak right, wise Dudas. Vol’jin was a spineless coward, look at how Sylvanas is heroically genociding people with blight.

No one tried to drag Drek’thar in front of the Banshee Queen under threat of violence either, or I would think the situation would be quite comparable to a certain presumed traitor…

Remember when Vol’jin cowardly started a rebellion against Garrosh without first getting the support of the other Horde leaders?

He and his rebellion startet off long before the Alliance fleet or EK Horde fleets arrived. And let me once more use this quote here:

<Zen’tabra narrows her eyes at you.>

Why de Alliance seek de Darkspear? We fightin’ de “Warchief,” sure, but dat don’t mean we friends. I never trust de Alliance, an’ I ain’t 'bout ta start now.

Still, dat funny mechanical cat ya have saved my life… so I give you dis. I let ya speak wit’ Vol’jin.

Let him decide if ya words be venom or honey.

Don’t be tryin’ nothin, <class>. Ya lift a finger against Vol’jin, ya life be forfeit.

And there is more from the pantless man himself:

Why are the Darkspear in rebellion against Garrosh?_

<Vol’jin twists his face into a scowl.>

Ya wouldn’t understand. What’s de Horde ta ya, <race>? Diseased? Alien? Betrayers? Demon-blooded? Beasts? I know what ya say 'bout us.

I’ll tell ya what de Horde is. De Horde dat me an’ Thrall built. It be a family. When de whole world try ta put us down, de family come an’ pick us back up.

Hellscream, he don’t see family. Ain’t never had one.

What about Hellscream? What does the Horde mean to him?_

For him, Horde be about orcs, an’ buildin up orc power. Like he just come through. Anyone stand in his way, anyone tink any diff’rent, he shut 'em up.

<Vol’jin runs his three-fingered hand across his scar.>

He like an angry dog. Oh, I fight next to Hellscream in battle, sure. But put him in charge? Ya askin’ for trouble. He pick his favorites, start his war, shove me bruddahs aside… He don’t tink he need nobody else. Well, he wrong.

He gonna learn: ya never cross family.

After complete, Vol’jin has another gossip option:

Why should we help you? What if we kept the Barrens supplies for ourselves?_

<Vol’jin cackles, the stench of his hot breath reeking in your nostrils.>

Oh, ya got anudda plan? I got anudda plan, too. I let ya siege Orgrimmar on ya own. See how far ya get. An’ once da city be filled wit’ corpses, den me shadow hunters come in, we mop up what left, kill Kor’kron an Alliance alike. Give ya dead ta Sylvanas. Hmm! I save a lot a Darkspear lives wit’ dis plan!

Mmnn? You don’t like? Then, we stay wit’ da fist plan. We work together.

We don’t even have ta like each other.

I can gurantee to you, that even on his death bed someone like Baine or Saurfang after touched by human potential would never have a spine as huge like that. They ar eboth pushovers.

Truly, a vile worm. That stabbing on the Broken Shore came too late, he had already sold the Horde to his Alliance masters.

Reminder that when the Alliance player threatened to abandon Vol’jin, he began to suck up more than a vacuum cleaner.

Aha.

[Call his bluff] Why don’t WE wait until YOU attack Orgrimmar, then mop up YOUR dead?

<Vol’jin sees his opportunity slipping away. He holds up his hands.>

Wait now, <race>! Orgrimmar be a fortress. My people, we ain’t gonna crack dat nut on our own. How long we gonna last out here? Days? Weeks? Vol’jin can’t say.

You keep da supplies comin, an’ I promise, more Kor’kron gonna die. Before ya troops even land! The blood bein’ spilt ain’t even ya own! Surely dat be worth a few crates of meat?

We need to stick together in these dark times of anti Horde writing from the devs and show off some unity here. I appreciate your efforts faithful friend of the Horde.
