Druid levelling

Can they withstand a lot of punishment in Bear form? And how are they in general.

  • A fair bit yes
  • A bit dull

Great once you get catform though coz you move faster
Not many will invite you to endgame raids; but flag carrying in WSG lvl 30-39 will get you far…

Raiding endgame is not something I’m egar to get into, just wanted to expereince classic story in a class I find appealing.

Not much downtime if you play feral - and you can sneak by mobs ofc. Druid for sure is worthwhile if you want to see the story and just play along a little at a time.

Ignore this guy.

Druids are the 2nd best leveller’s after hunters, they have low gear dependency because of Bear/Cat form, they get movement speed from Catform at level 20 while outdoors then they get Travel form at 30 which is one of the best escape tools in the game (Limited to out doors unfortunately) Druids are the best Flag carriers in any bracket, Even more so at 60, if you’re a druid who knows how to FC you will get groups instantly.

Now while it is true you may struggle to find Raids as a Feral DPS or Boomkin, you will absolutely have no issues getting into Raids as Resto or Even Feral Tank for Off-tanking.

Overall I find druids a really rewarding class to play with an emphasis on High skill High reward. Easy to tell the good from the great druids.

9/10 - Leveling
8/10- PvP (Healing or Flag carrying)
6/10- Raiding (Easy to get raids as Resto and also possible to Off-tank aswell.)

Hope this helps.

Feral druid is great to grind mobs with especially if they are green to you. Really good burst and you can throw a heal between pulls and mostly you dont need to stop to drink as you regain mana while fighting.

You can be sneaky sneaky in world pvp (if you attack someone who is sitting and drinking you get 100% crit chance) and it’s nice for many quests. You can tank/dps/heal in the same spec.

It’s a really nice class to level. If you get to many mobs you can bear form and heal as bear. You can always get away from tricky situations with travel form. You can solo most elite mobs with roots alone (takes a while).

Doesn’t get much better than a druid in general.

Druids are not that popular - you will be something more unique/rare which is pretty cool.

What I said is opinion not fact; telling someone to ignore someone’s opinion is rather childish no? You could say “I disagree with this poster” and state why.

But I guess that’s too much to ask of most forum posters.

Maining a druid here, what the paladin above said is pretty much all true. Raids are not our forte, these large scale events favor specialization and rigid roles rather than hybrid all-roundness so we are at disadvantage by design.

With that said, pvp both in battle grounds and open world is very rewarding as druid, you can cover any role in 5 men content which is a big plus when LFG for dungeon/lvling.

I’d probably rate our abilities in this order heal>tank>dps but with the right gear you can really have fun in any role. Plus we got stealth!

It’s really a great overall class, easy to play and hard to master so to speak.

you also kill mages and that is amazing

you can get into endgame raids easily if you put in some effort you always need at least 1 druid for the buff

I disagree with this poster.

I disagree with this posters disagreeing.

That’s rubbish, warlocks have far less downtime and better survivability. Druids die on 2 mobs and three mobs give them 5 seconds to run away. Only morons use Tanking as opposed to actually living with more than 1 mob.

Don’t get me wrong tank druid are ok 10-20, but anyone who plays a tank druid needs a mental assessment at 60.

I was wrong, druids aren’t 2nd best leveller’s it’s actually Mage.

Hunter>Mage>Druid>Warlock.

Druid is a pretty good levelling class, you can solo elites and get out of nasty situations in bear form.
Being a WSG flag carrier is a forte.

Also, being able to tank during levelling is a big plus, lots of shortage on tanks. You can raid as a healer in all groups, tank and cat in quasi hardcore groups and the casual groups will even let you boomkin. So you can do whatever you want.

I would recommend the class. Its probably the most interesting of the melee ones too.

So much misinformation here.

  1. They are not the second best levelers, not even close. Pet classes are the best levelers so it’s Hunter then Warlock. After that Mage is the next easiest and fastest class to level with AoE farm and portals.

  2. They are not the best FC in every bracket. They are they best in 39-60 at 20-29 Shamans, Mages and Hunters are much better at FCing with Ghost Wolf, Blink and AoTP and Rogues in the 19 bracket with Sprint or Paladin.

  3. While it’s true you probably won’t have much of an issue getting into a raid most guilds only bring 1 Feral and 1 Resto druid but as it’s the least played class they are often sought after. Although if your in a more casual guild then you’ll probably see more druids in the raid.

Overall Druids are very versatile and do make good levelers and are very efficient playing alone. They are the jack of all trades.

i don’t agree with what i said either

Well I think you’re wrong tbh. Having levelled all classes in classic up to 30+ I’d place druids 2nd last (after priests) in terms of speed.

Yes they don’t need to stop much - but they kill slowly… Hunters, mages, rogues, warlocks, warriors, shammys, pallies, druids, priests…that’s my experience in speed tbh.

Yes you won’t die…but you’ll watch a lot of YouTube whilst you’re grinding. This might suit many ofc :+1:

Bear is a bear, can take damage but can not give one. But its cool, bear is not meant to be leveled in that form. But you can ofc.
