The dynamic layer theory makes more sense to me than bots controlling bl spawns and controlling supply.
I’m not sure that invalidates my point
It wasn´t supposed to… it merely clarifies in a slightly facetious manner that the root cause is still lazy players purchasing illegal gold to buy those boosts, which is why they can afford to pay such hilariously large sums for the boosts to begin with.
Seriously, the amout of gold flying around on anniversary Classic realms probably easily rivals the amount people have collected over the course of the 6 years Era has been up… So obviously the prices for everything are going to be hilariously high.
And it doesn’t matter that the prices are high because everyone exists in the same economy. Flasks could cost 10000g and it still wouldn’t matter because other prices ingame would reflect that meaning you’d still be able to sell a stack of herbs for 50-300% value.
RMT is obviously an issue for other reasons but an actual problem are static gold sinks that are way too cheap now meaning theres virtually no money being deleting from the economy, it just gets passed along to someone else. No respecs, no epic mounts. This community brought this upon themselves and aren’t willing to adapt when in reality to adapt you only have to do the bare minimum.
I disagree. It absolutely matters.
Simply because it effectively forces everyone else to either also purchase gold, or to simply accept that they will never be able to compete with others that do swipe because they want actually play the game and not pay through the nose and risk a ban…
And even if they do and don´t get banned, it still doesn´t solve the problem, it only makes it even worse. Because their gold then gets hoovered up by the people that were able to afford to,m for example, level their alchemy (or did it rearly before the RMT train got up to speed), and are now making bank selling consumes to the swipers that can afford them.
Did the community create this problem themselves, absolutely. But saying they need to adapt, which at this point effectively boils down to "“Just go with the herd and break the rules, too” is IMO not the sort solution anyone should be aspiring to…
You don’t have to buy gold to keep up… this is my point. Theres no respecs or need to purchase mounts or even certain pre bis pieces such as lionheart helm because you get free gear and mount handouts from the new honor system. Yall will literally complain about anything and constantly think you’re victims. YOU’RE NOT. The game has never been this fricking easy.
I´m not complaining, because I coudln´t care less what brain-dead shenanigans happen on the anniversary realms.
And you denouncing it as such “Because PvE players should just play PvP instead” is an IMO laughably bad excuse to ignore the basic cause-effect relationships of RMT = Botting = economy phukt.
But you do you, I´ll do me… on Era, where the bots became significantly less and the economy started recover once anniversary opened up, and we don´t need to have new “improved” systems that have nothing to do with classic to be implementey just so that people can have any chance at playing teh game
Guess you’re out of the loop. AV is a pve experience and has been for a long time.
It kinda looks like you are complaining because when people they tune in to the comments they’re reading and start demanding more stupid changes.
Bot : more bot = more farm = more gold in game and less resources in game = inflation
Solution : ban bots AND sellers. Allow players to become super user with ethical policy, to become game masters.
Boost : more boost = more gold in game = inflation
Solution : limit drastically low level (50-) ID reset
Layer :
Solution : drastically increase, at least double, the amount of layer, decrease the number of player by layer and at soon as a layer is open, leave it for a longer period of time (7 days).
For those who said, “you wanted Classic, you have it.” Just a small reminder, in 2005 :
A month I’m herborist now, not any single lotus, while farming 2h a day. No, this is not classic.
you realize something isn’t a solution if it directly creates other problems right?
please go to sod or retail buddy you can go live in your little singleplayer bubble there with personal layers
So asking for normal playing conditions is “live in your little singleplayer bubble like sod or retail”. No. and please, if you come back, bring some arguments, instead of criticise players who suggest solution.
Dude, you can’t expect to have a discussion when you’re posting the same cr4p that have already been debunked decades ago. You won’t even think about your own ‘solutions’ yet you want me to do it for you?
yeah i’d like to, go for it ! It’s not my own solutions, it’s logical solutions, taking into account all the complexity of this issue. You won’t solve anything by dealing with only 1 part of the issue.
But, maybe are you part of this issue, for reacting like this? are you botting? are you boosting? maybe we should investigate your profile!
Problem is not gold buying, okay this is problem but not main. Main problems is that this is like 5th or 6th frash and people already know how to play, like everyone good. That its only 1 MEGA server, layers didnt help. And its PVP server so you can acutally make “mafia”.
Layers dont help, cause there are not enough layers and cause they are closing too fast after the threshold is reached. I dont understand why people refutes that… that is basic mathematics…
People knows how to play, and what? where is the gameplay involved in lotus farming? 1 months have been herborist farming 2h a day , NOT ANY LOTUS (and i use addon for location omfg). And is basically the same for every HL resources.
THE FACT is, and that’s irrefutable, that spawn settings (resources, monsters, and EVEN MAP SIZE…) are not suitable for megaservers.
but as I mentioned it sooner, layers are only a part of the problem (bot, boost…)
NOBODY wants megaservers. That doesn’t make LAYERS a solution. It’s literally just making the problem worse.
Not if layers last longer after the threshold is reached.
Where, please do tell, did I demand any changes whatsoever, beyond proper enfocement of the same rules that have been im place for over 20 years… Specifically banning gold buyers.
It´s not a solution, because it´s exactly what´s been happening for years. ALl it does at the end of teh day is accelerate Bot development.
The solution is to ban the BUYERS. No Buyers = no market for illegal gold = no bots because not fiscally viable.
But this would mean banning accounts that might not return, unline bots and seller that will just turn around and create a new one.
This is patently false, and is even contradicted by even your own second point. If there were no bots as you claim, then the GMs you claim that were there to ban them wouldn´t have existed, either.
As long as gold buyers have existed, and they existed from day 1, bots to generate gold to sell to them have existed.
It just wasn´t as completely out of hand as is is on anni.
This too is categorically false, for ex. mages boosting people through Monastery has been a thing ever since teh first mages hit level 40. It just wasn´t an RMT business, many diodn´t even take gold for it. But boosting has always been a part of the game as well as explicitly allowed.
