easiest choice s2, good aoe and ST why would I want another season of being meh in raid and M+ AOE, plus s2 means flash of lightning= more Astral Shift = less dying.
I mean, either you bad or not, but I have never been tank dps with the season 3 set and I am nowhere near the best player in the world. Probably do a bit more research on the class before you jebait other Shaman players by saying stuff like this that ain’t half true. This spec is very viable and in my opinion way more fun than spamming Chain Lightning all day. For once we are up there on the meter, esp in raid environments and we’re up there in Mythic+ as well competing with BM Hunt/Havoc DH/Ret Pala on overall damage, esp in keys where the target count is in favour of our target cap.

Compared to season 2 Ele is in a bad position right now. Because you obviously don’t know statistics: In Season 2 Ele was sitting in A/B Tier on Subcreation M+. Now most of the time C or D Tier.
If you can compete in a +20 Dungeon with a DH or BM Hunter these guys suck. Ele Burst is literally not there.
Season 2 T Set had way better AoE Damage. People who vote for Season 3 never played Season 2 or can’t do math.
Let me preface this by saying that I have only played DF elemental during season 3, so I might be missing something.
That said, aren’t we, on average (according to Warcraftlogs), performing better in M+ in season 3 compared to season 2? I know it’s a relative 1-100 score and our position in WCLogs tier lists is relative to the powers of other specs, but higher relative placement should mean better performance, right?
With that out of the way, I kinda hope S3 doesn’t win because, as you said, the carpal tunnel from spamming lava burst is intense.
Well, why wouldn’t I bring up raid damage? It is one of the aspects where it is needed too… Going off your comment before and this one, you’re just a Mythic Plus-andy. Where as you claim me putting words in your mouth, you’re doing just the same by bringing up burst damage. Our burst damage is not the best and surely that was better because of the Stormkeeper proc from S2 tierset and fully going Lightning spec-wise, which of course amplifies it, but saying we’re not viable or competing at all is just not true. Again, Elemental Shamans are more than capable keeping up with AoE Burst from other classes if you can get Flame Shock rolling on 6+ targets in the current season. Statistics or not.
I have never really enjoyed Icefury, and really like Lava burst, the Pwave window is cool. Its just a shame EQ is so poor this season.

We will get all the DF dungeons next season, and there are lots of big pulls dungeons in that rotation.
It is viable. It’s simply a way of saying that ele is not in a great state compared to the majority of other dps specs. And don’t come here and say that we can keep up with the meta in terms of AoE damage, but that is just an obvious lie, and you would not be saying that if you have played with good players in higher keys. That being said ele can definitely play high content and not stink. It was simply a way to emphasize that the lightning build will improve us by such a large margin that picking the S3 tier set would look like self-sabotage. And raid-wise we’re not doing good either for the record. we look good on the overall because we have a few fights where we are insane, but on the rest of the fights we are performing very poorly. Have a look at any mythic fight besides council or larodar and you’ll see what I mean. #pickS2setplease
