This tier feels way too long. Top 100 should have been filled a while ago. We’re approaching two months into mythic and only 82 guilds are at 11/11M. By comparison Ny’alotha top 100 was filled in 1 month and 11 days and that was 12 bosses.
I killed M N’zoth at world tank #550-ish and that took 3 months raiding 9 hours a week. Now, in Sepulcher, 3 months is what top 200 guilds are looking at raiding 9 hours a week or more, which is insane.
My guild is now a few days into mythic Jailer progress and it will most likely take about 1.5-2 weeks to kill, which should be about #130 ish. 2 and a half months for top 130…
This tier is just the perfect recipe for player burnout.
for years chalenge in wow meant dealing with 3 mechanics instead 2 with additional mechanic ususally meant used 1 healing / def cds in proper moment every 30-90 seconds. / move from point A to point B in 5-10 seocnds
but when you have to deal with 123712631728637 mechanics incuding 2-3 one shoting people because they were to slow to move in 1-2 second time frame and setting up 15 def / healing cds in perfect manner or die - then its beyond chalenging - at this point its ridiculous.
what i mean is - some people enjoy getting kicked in the nuts. i dont understand it but very tiny minoirty of people do understand it and supports it
this is anyone else if they were told that by doing X they will get kicked in the nuts repeatedly will just look at you wierd and go with “why would i do that then?”
same is with mythic raiding in wow atm .
when even best guilds in the world just thow the towel you know somethign is very very very wrong with game design .
we are talking about people who are miles above exelent players and incomparable amount of skilsl away from average players, and even for those people game is too hard.
i dont have any satisfaction with it - but i have been repeating on this forums since cata that game is to hardcore and needs to change.
but somehow even after loosing 90 % of playerbase blizzard refuses to aknowleedge that their game deisgn is fundamentaly flawed
for me its honestly a mistery how can Ion not get fired after countless failed expansions in row.
worse - nothing even remotely suggest 10.0 design philosophy will be any different.
they will still cater only to top 0,001 % of playerbase
when wow was his only content he was streaming 24/7 then it wasnt surpising he was setting himself up as “true hardcore nolifing neckbeard” and this was person that appeal to certain masses back then .
when those masses sticked to him in their false sense of belonging that they so desperately felt as most of lonely people he just dropped that persona as it was no longer needed.
he already established his little cult of loosers supporting him financial so he doesnt have to try anymore like most of sect leaders.
the only downside of it is hwo negatively it affected that game that we all love.
There is nothing you can learn about your class by doing PVE, I’m sorry to break that bubble. Maybe I am biased, but did a fair bit of PvE over the last 17 years of playing WoW, and it mostly involves using your 4-5 button rotation while respecting the boss script.
The script is ALWAYS made intentionally non-descript and non-class specific so that both a Monk/Dh and a Priest/Dk can get fast enough out of the bad fire to not die.
The talents and rotation is always the META build you find on different sites.
Therefore nothing will really make you play an individual class better, or allow any extra creativity.
The closest thing to that would be either mage tower type challenges, visions of nzoth, and pvp. There you use 90-100% of your spell book abilities and can also get creative.
Thats all well and good.
But WHY
Whats the point?
Why do we gear?
WoW is a game about the story, in short There is a baddie and while leveling you learn about the baddie and make friends to fight the baddie, you do dungeons to help your allies and prepare to fight the baddie then you go into raids to fight and kill the baddie, once baddie is dead you win the game hurray!
Then you do whatever you do.
The Raid is the end of the journey, now the raid is pointless, M+ gear is better then heroic gear. Why raid when you can farm the same dungeons for two years, but why, why are you farming those dungeons? Whats the point?
There’s no hope as long as Ion and his elitist number cruncher club is leading this mess. I’ll stick with WotLK classic and occasionally look into retail news till they start developing not only for echo and two to three other rwf guilds
The truth is mythic+ is to rewarding for what it is but if they changed it people would rage quit as people seem to prefer doing that over raiding as it’s easier/quicker/less hassle.
I would argue doing heroic raid with casual players is harder than doing a 15 key.
You even get nice loot for failing a timer on mythic+ which is the main focus of the actual content.
