Fix for Repeat Instance Bug Exploit

I dont know what really happened, but why is Esfand talking with devs during raids?! This is a normal thing?!

" - Oh this is probably exploiting, but let me make the dev phone ring: Hey mister dev, can we clean this sh*t again? - Hey Esf, are you still playing that thing?! Sure go ahead dude, but you have to pay me a beer at blizzcon!"

He has a former community manager in his guild who has contacts, as well as Josh Lore (current dev) occasionally streaming too. Twitch streamers benefit from networking, so it’s no surprise to me.

People will be jealous of this, but it is what it is. At the end of the day, streamers are freely advertising WoW so from a business perspective, of course they’ll have more attention from Blizzard than say, a non-streamer.

Jealous, or unfair?! In game he should be considered as one more player, not as one privileged joe, that can ask questions to devs, not only for him but for an entire raid. The guild next door, surely didn’t had that chance.

And by the way, devs don’t, or shouldn’t have the power to make the rules just in time. The game is based on a paid subscription and has rules, that are written and legally recognized.

Well, as I said before…

At the end of the day, streamers are freely advertising WoW so from a business perspective, of course they’ll have more attention from Blizzard than say, a non-streamer.

They didn’t just make up that rule on the spot though. There’s more nuance to it and the situation at the time. A whole raid of 40 people patiently waiting 30+ mins while trying to contact Blizzard before proceeding is respectful because if they had ill intentions then they would just continue on acting like nothing happened.

If they didn’t made that rule on the spot, why the same action is now being considered as bug/exploiting by the rule makers?

“patiently waiting 30+ mins”

When you have a problem/doubt in game, you open a ticket and a gm contact you, something that can take hours, or even a day. Why they have been contacted by a dev? Because mr esf was there! Streamers shouldn’t have any type of privileges in game, because… let’s see… it is unfair, biased! Outside of the game i don’t care, they even can get giant gold trophies made of gold sent by the game company, but in game is inadmissible.

The same action? the situation isn’t even the same…

  • Esfand’s raid: They did MC, went back the next night to kill mobs and noticed that the bosses had respawned. (Personally saw this live)

  • Players that got banned: They found out about resetting dungeon bosses through layering and intentionally done it over and over to gain an unfair advantage.

You did read the blue post from Lore about this, right?

Haha some streamers got away (again) and now openly supported by blizz himself…

Amazing, just amazing.

Personally i got tired of this clownfiesta, this game beyond redemption…

New tax boys, become streamer, abuse the game however you want…

I saw some screenshot of a ban floating around. It said 1 month ban and removal of all optained resources.
Not sure if it is fake.

Someone mentioned Esfand’s random MC reset in this thread, which is a pretty clean example of the other end of the spectrum. In that case, they just turned up to raid and the instance had been reset. They didn’t do anything intentional to cause it or go looking for reproduction steps so they could abuse it - in fact, they reported it to us and didn’t continue until they got confirmation that it was out of their control (and that we wouldn’t consider it an exploit if they cleared).

Would belive that “story” if they WOULD leave the raid and get out…

INSTEAD they STOOD and LOOTED extra stuff from the “bugged clever mechanism” boss.

Which part of Blizzard publicly confirming they didn’t exploit are you missing?

They stood, they looted. Others banned for the same.

The part where they ignore Esfand and others doing the same thing, over and over, in 5mans, which is the exact same exploit. The part where they stood in the raid, waiting for something to happen, instead of just, oh Idk, HSing away.

But hey, I get it. Hes a big streamer, and thus a source of income to them. Apparently, if you make them enough money, you get a free pass.

The average Joe is just an inconvenience…allowed to pay the bills and get queues in return.

Whether or not people will wanna play a game for much longer, where this kind of abuse goes unpunished as long as the perpetrators are “internet fame”, time will tell.

Read the whole post. it is a question of repeated and intentional abuse of a bug.

Read the whole post, also watched stream.

Blizz defending specific streamers, some people even said DO NOT LOOT, they still looted. Others banned for the same (No matter they did this once or xyz times).

Story over!

Learn how to read, then try discussing with people.

In the freaking blues post they specified that raid bug is a DIFFERENT BUG and is known since 2004.

Believe it or not nothing will happen to the streamers.
Normal players are 2nd class people/players - sad but true.

Try not just read but also understand. We help if you are unable.

Imagine a situation when you are facing a bug during raid that could potentially lead to a bannable situation and you have a formal CM in your raid/guild. What do you do? 1. open a ticket and wait for the answer or 2. you use your guilmate’s contacts?
I’m sure all of the previous posters would choose option 1. You guys are just too perfect.

I doubt they would do anything - they would just go ahead and abuse it and then cry on forum what a victims they are after they got banned.
