Fix for Repeat Instance Bug Exploit

You keep claiming lack of integrity but still fail to provide any evidence that the case was judged more favourably compared to other cases.

It’s not enough to “be friend with the judge” to have cronysm: the judge needs to give an unequal treatment too. If the judge doesn’t give unequal treatment and applies the rules as they are written and as they have been interpreted for ages, who is friends with who is irrelevant.

That’s only if they action the changes, which they aren’t as per the bluepost - layer abusers aren’t going to be touched.

The fix is too late.

For two weeks now, people have abused layering to get to 60 faster, to clear MC and to farm rare mats in high numbers.

Those that spread the exploits, are yet to be punished and most likely never will be.

Only brand new servers without layering can fix the problem. Playing right now feels pointless, as you see a level 60 and expect him or her to have played a part in this dirty game. There is no trust anymore to anyones achievement in WOW. Nobody knows how the other person did it, that is big damage to the longevity of a community.

You talk like layering was saving people days of playtime to get to 60. It saved a few hours at best. How does this matter in the slightest when these kind of people have 10 days or /played time within 3 weeks?

Probably true, but I will admit so far I’m enjoying plodding a long doing my own thing at my own pace… Try not focus too much on the negatives man - make the best of what it is and hope that blizzard do more to solve the issues. It has only been a couple of weeks. I do hope that more is done about the layer hopping…

I am going at my own pace as well, lvl 40 now. To be honest. Seeing that you are lvl 23, you are not even playing in the same league as these kind of players. You hardly play the same game. They play it to reach the top, to min max as much as possible push it to the limit and beyond.
You on the other hand play the game for enjoyment. You are right focus more on your journey and dont let you affect by those people. Blizzard will hopefully take care of them.

I’m level 20+ on 3 characters, I’ve settled on my warrior at 30 but I can’t seem to change my character on the forum

I hope they all get ban.
They definitely need to be punished, play fair as everyone else or get what u deserve! (ban)

Hello Blizzard

I never really post on the forums.
But ban’s may be to harsh for a 3 week old game.
I am only lvl 38 my self and will be raiding by the end of the month hopefully.

But there is one easy solution to this problem without banning people.
Just find the raid layer abuser’s and roll there toons back to lvl 58 and make them naked. They decided to abuse mechanics to get an advantage so give them a disadvantage.

Abuser’s happy and dont rage quit due to ban, Non abuser’s happy due to having a gear advantage.

P.S give me job ploks

Hello Slapman,

no.

lock this thread!!! economy is back to normal and the players who had no honor and did this got their gaming hours chopped off and unable to continue.

  1. economy is normal again, bye bye other facts
  2. u cant do this anymore, bye bye other layers abusers
  3. we dont do any of this so we can finally play normal.

Apparently the thread has been unstickied, and other than a few Reddit rumors there is nothing from the devs in regards to the extent of the exploiting and what measures were taken to correct the consequences. At this point I’m beginning to think that with the exception of the most egregious examples, most people will end up getting a slap on the wrist and this whole thing will be swept under the rug.

The devs are still human and Blizzard is still a workplace after all, and there’s every incentive from the devs in charge to downplay the consequences of their ruinous judgement.

Why is this not a sticky anymore?

No longer a sticky thread. No evidence of bans. Blizzard pretends like it never happened. Yeah sure hide everything under the carpet, it’s better for public image, we get it.

Good to hear, thanks for the frequent communication with the playerbase.

It goes a long way, with me at least, to ensuring continued faith in the WoW Classic team.

Why would you want to keep exploiters as your customer base, rather than those who do not exploit the game?

Blizzard doesn’t need exploiter money, they should focus on the legit customer base instead and see to it that cheating is not worth it, otherwise it keeps paiting the image that people should keep exploiting because they are not punished accordingly.

I think people are going about the wrong way about this. You don’t need to permaban people to discourage exploiting, I’m sure that many people who engaged in it did so because they though this was going to be tolerated just like abusing raid exp and layer hopping for respawns/mats.

The ban needs to be enough that the risk is higher than the reward, otherwise key here is removing the proceeds of the exploiting from the game ecosystem(gear/currency/mats/patterns). Banning the exploiters does little to fix that.

False, Pservers don’t have hundreds of thousands players login in at the same time.
Not even tens of thousands.

I was waiting classic since thé shut down of Nostalrious. I used to play with this toon from 2005 to 2010 on retail.
And what is happening?! A bunch of idiots destroy classic wow by using all the bugs they are able to find !!
And mark my words , i m sure there will be anothers dramas in next phases because blizzard is incompetent!
As for the mother f… who cheats , you just broke what you were demanding for years. I m sure there are some retails boyz amongs them along with cancerous streamers.
Enjoy your bans bugg…
