[Forsaken-RP] Corpsegrin Irregulars šŸ’€

These guys have been a real pleasure to interact with during the campaign. They might look dead inside (and outside), but theyā€™re a lively bunch, I promise!

Hopefully there will be more opportunities to interact in the future!

Our intrepid thieves have returned from their interplanetary capers on Argus, having extracted an abundance of Void artifacts which may or may not be highly corruptive and dangerous.

Thank you to everyone whose company we shared during this great little campaign! I hope we get to inflict the Irregulars upon you again in the future.

After our trip to Argus and a short stay in Outland, we are once again back home in Tarren Mill. There are rumblings however, that the past walks Lordaeron once more. Probably just your run of the mill hauntings though and not a sign that something troubling is afoot. Anyway, we should probably investigateā€¦

Sent to investigate a ā€˜hauntingā€™ in Ambermill, the Irregulars discovered that the strange spectres of the past occupying the town were not ghosts, but a mass emanation of Radiant Echoes.

While exploring this strange phenomenon they accidentally antagonised the Lieutenantā€™s mother, started a tavern brawl, and relived the memory of a battle with the Scourge before the echoes dispersed.

Haish. Any place for a returning player? I hate uniform and everything is formal.
I am not playing for 8 or so years, so feel a bit rusty.

Absolutely! Get in touch in game or through Discord and letā€™s chat

Rotwild here on my NPC/prism jockey rogue.

As the past walks Lordaeron once more in the shape of strange spectral figures, the Irregulars have been keeping busy trying to cull these. We still are not entirely sure what they are and why they are happening, but the Forsaken are no strangers to hauntings, so we are confident that everything will be fine.

We will see out this week of RP and then we will go on break until September 9th to allow for our members to get stuck in with the new expansion. See you on the other side, Argent Dawn denizens.

New expansion, new rp.
You wonā€™t regret joining them in their coming adventures, if you are a Forsaken.

Aaaand we are back! Last night the Irregulars ventured into the ruined kingdom of Alterac to aprehend a former death stalker turned doomsday preacher. We found him in Strahnbrad where he was initially cooperative, but the mood turned sour when one of the Irregulars tried to hit him in the head with a hammer from behind while the others were talking to him.

Turns out our rogue doomsday preacher was a Kā€™thir all along. Who would have thoughtā€¦

The Kā€™thir was disposed of with extreme prejudice and the hunt continues for any of its would be associates. Next stop: The Eastern Plaguelands.

In OOC news, we have received a lot of attention from potential Irregulars since the beginning of The War Within. We are super happy with this, but to make sure that all new recruits are given a proper chance to settle in and get to know the rest of the Irregulars, recruitment will be closed until further notice.

I was wondering what that smell was

You canā€™t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. And this broken egg had an identity ripe for the taking in light of his untimely demise, so the Irregulars concocted a flawless plan: to disguise one of their own as the rogue preacher they had killed before his associates learned of it, and infiltrate the doomsday cult firsthand.

Thanks to a canny illusion - and the consummate acting skills of their resident shadow priest - they were able to observe a kā€™thir transformation before their very eyes. Though purported to be a ā€˜giftā€™ which would see the man saved in the Black Empireā€™s looming resurgence, his metamorphosis turned to disaster, and he had to be struck down after succumbing to madness.

Invited to attend a ceremonial mass ā€˜ascensionā€™ in the ruined township of Darrowshire, the Irregulars have one shot at putting a stop to the cultā€™s plans whilst theyā€™re all in once place. But just how far are they willing to go to keep up the charade?

Well that didnā€™t go according to plan! The Irregulars went to Darrowshire for the mass ascension, only to discover that most of the cult had either perished trying to ascend without their leader or left for Khaz Algar, hoping to find some other means of metamorphosis thereā€¦

The night was not entirely uneventful however and saw the Irregulars come face to face with the ā€œStarchildā€, a faceless one serving as the cultā€™s patron. This Starchild was defeated and the hunt for the remaining members of the cult continue. To Khaz Algar!

After being commanded to undergo metamorphosis into kā€™thir and forced to break character, the Irregulars face off against the cultā€™s enraged nā€™raqi patronā€¦

On their delve through Khaz Algar, the Irregulars rejoin the Prophet Vasaar - the Hat Man, as they have taken to calling him - and his colourful fellowship of Void cognoscenti. Morgan is still alive, which is nice. The ā€œkeep Morgan aliveā€ assignment dispatched on Argus never fell through after all.

As they journeyed through Hallowfall the expedition witnessed the shifting of Beledar, and were locked in battle with an unending horde of shadowspawn until the darkness lifted. Now they shelter at Dunelleā€™s Kindness - some more keenly than others.

Soon bound for Azj-kahet, the Irregulars are on a new mission to secure samples of the Black Blood for the Forsaken back home - as they remain on the trail of the apocalypticist star-cult that had fled there.

Thankfully, their once-again allies are sound of judgement and hold no such strange doctrines.

Right?

The Irregulars are currently camped at Dunelleā€™s Kindness in Hallowfall while readying ourselves for our next move. Drop by and say hi (if phasing permits it)

After carrying out some preparatory reconnaissance, the Irregulars made their first foray into the caverns of Azj-Kahet: infiltrating Rak-Zakaz to cause as much mayhem as possible.

With a river to carry off the bodies of the slain sentries, and a wealth of Nerubian silk to set on fire as a play of distraction, they made a successful crawl to its upper ramparts. There, they released a prisoner who had been encased in web and elected to team up. But as the Irregulars put their sabotage in motion, they discovered that the captiveā€™s tower was a trap - that an unending swarm of ravenous fliers had just been set upon them, and they would have no way out but to jump.

Just as the unit readied themselves for a defiant last stand, the timely arrival of a passing Arathi skiff enabled them to escape by the skin of their teeth, bidding the Nerubians an explosive farewell. Maybe those guys arenā€™t so bad after all.

Iā€™ve had the immense pleasure of roleplaying with the Corpsegrin, those that call themselves the Irregulars form a host of colourful personalities painted with the dark shades of a Forsaken-core cast.

See you on Azeroth, whether its practicing Meat Wagon tech or facing off in a rivalry, depending on the character Iā€™ll bring!
