Free Game Time

No you didn’t, you paid a sub for Retail, which is up and running smoothly, the access to retail allows you to access Classic, so no there will be no refund, you are the one who chose to not play Retail.

I dont quite get it though, wasn’t layering + modern tech supposed to handle exactly this scenario?

i’ve read them in their entirety in the past, but not recently. but im sure that no ToS would get past a legal challenge if what money is handed over to purchase an item/service, does not result with the customer getting that item/service. otherwise we would be having ToS on EVERYTHING! and i dont mean what we currently have from a lot of businesses, i mean proper war and peace documents PER item/company.

but this isnt just about ToS, its about good will with the aim of customer retention. blizzard messed up. and they’ve been messing up/not caring for a long time. 2 weeks is too long, but there should def be a day or two free time like they did in the old days. and thats presuming the issue gets fixed!

in some cases, such transactions WOULD make you entitled, but not sure it applies here. BUT, as i said above, this isn’t about entitlement, this is about blizzard messing up, bad optics and customer retention. and how did we know what we were getting into? blizz PURPOSELY used tech that a lot of people didn’t like (and i’ve already fallen foul of!!!) to offset that. and are you trying to say that blizzard dont have the ability to release a 15 year old game with todays current tech? no, poor argument.

exactly. even against all the annoyances of players not wanting it cause it was not in classic, it didn’t work. and tbh, it is a bit embarrassing that it didn’t go smoothly.

I think they should give everyone 2 years, also known as the average wait time in queue for Firemaw xD

I think the idea is that a lot of people took extra time out of their actual lives that they can’t take back to play Classic at launch, so a little extra sugar on each cheek.

What name reserve scam?
If you have a subscription you could reserve a name on the few servers that existed.

That is it.
You have your names on the server of your choice.

Cheap move by blizz? Yes.
Did you accept it? Yes.

Yh but I can’t use them because of Blizzards stupidity, not mine. They said they had the tech to handle this and they lied.

A lot of toxic white knight Blizzy fanbois here. If you all enjoy being scammed so much, just reply with your credit card details

If they want to do some sort of “apology” it will be months away.

Short term they may award everyone back with a few days of sub time, but anything more than that costs them too much money. Consider just 10k players, 2 weeks is £50000 already (which is 1/20 of a million for more reference).

I was thinking about 9 months but on a second thought it looks tidbit above the reasonable.

You can, just not right now because of que.
Which wasnt promised with an active sub.
You or I can think whatever we want about this launch, which is bad imo, but expected to some degree.

However, you getting a refund for your name reservation is so out of touch and plain ridicolous.

If you are born in year 2000 or later I can have some understanding for a claim like this but I sure as h*ll do not respect it.

Sub to reserve your name then lose it when you’re forced to leave for a different server as you cant log in.

One should think this is the first time many of you have ever touched an online game.

Two weeks is too much. Maybe a day or two. But I’m not sure we’re even entitled to that.

It is extremely unlikely that any free game time will be issued by Blizzard.
If Classic was not linked to Retail sub, then maybe.

Because it is linked they can’t issue free time to Classic only.
And not being able to play Classic doesn’t stop you from playing Retail, which is what your sub is for.

That’s why I said everybody in bold letters. This is not about my personal entitlement as some of the fanbois are saying, but I feel the whole community is entitled to some sort of compensation.

Let’s be serious here. Is it bad? Yes. Is it frustrating to come home and see a 2 hour queue? Sure, I’ve whined about it myself. But let’s say the game is entirely unplayable for 3 straight days (which is not). What’s that, 1€? And 3 days after years of waiting? Not a big deal.

They should just apologize and give some rested bonus.

1euro x 1 milion means a 1 milion euro penalty for blizzard for their screw up.

no1 will notice a compensation of 1-3 days but atleast blizzard will feel it in their wallet.

Who cares about 2 weeks of gameplay money? The time you put in waiting which go to waste is more valuable, cant get that back.

As much as this would benefit me: What fiasco?

I’m having no trouble logging in and playing the game. What scam?

Queues? Isn’t that YOUR OWN FAULT for wanting to play on a full realm?
