The classic/vanilla experience is not left completely unchanged. Examples like world buffs being preserved and the /spit emote being modified show that some adjustments are made to avoid excessive disadvantages or griefing. If some aspects of the original design are refined to address problems, why could ganking not also be regulated if it creates a poor new player experience? The desire for an authentic classic experience does not have to mean retaining every part of the original design unconditionally.
Youre so selfish its unbelievable!
Virtual spit is not harassment or griefing. PvP on PvP servers is not harassment or griefing.
I know you people are doing your best to destroy this game, and youve had great success with your whole world buff crybully campaign but get your claws out of Classic and go play Retail or join a PvE server. Best just get off the internet!
Your responses have been aggressively hostile and dismissive rather than willing to have a reasonable discussion. Insulting and absolute condemnation of different perspectives is not an acceptable or productive form of debate. Those seeking to discuss how to balance retaining a classic experience with supporting all players, including new ones, are not trying to âdestroy the gameâ or âget off the internetâ. Compromise and consideration of varied experiences would be better than attacks.
Also, a âClassicâ version that makes any changes from the original design contradicts an argument that it must remain wholly unaltered. Changes like preserving world buffs show that some refinement to the original experience is deemed acceptable, so discussing regulation of other extreme disadvantages (e.g. ganking) could be feasible without taking away from core parts of the classic experience.
Straw man fallacy.
No-one here made such argument (that the game must be wholly unaltered from the original design). You are refuting a claim that has not been made in the first place.
A straw man fallacy occurs when someone takes another personâs argument or point, distorts it or exaggerates it in some kind of extreme way, and then attacks the extreme distortion, as if that is really the claim the first person is making.
Isnât that it?
This discussion cannot productively continue with outright denial and insulting dismissal of the experiences and perspectives of others. Insisting that contrary views are âobjectively wrongâ or signs of being âmentally unstableâ, and using offensive personal attacks, is not a useful approach and inhibits balanced debate. Simply refusing to accept that different people can have legitimate but varying viewpoints is not acceptable. If a more reasonable and civil exchange of positions is not possible, it may be best to stop engaging.
I have, so I changed zones. It was in a quest camp hub. They killed the NPCs too so I reported them, and they got punished.
Controlling World PvP to be fair is just a little to Woke for me.
