The barebones shadowstrike does 2.5-3k. It also costs energy. How does that do 55k-0 in one stun? You are exagerating here a bit.
Unrelated to gameplay and skills, how many damn vicious saddles have you gotten this season? 3k+ games seems mad teritory.
Since he only plays 2s I’m guessing about half a saddle

This is a good summary of it.
Dance + Symbols + Blades could kill someone who has absolutely no defence and isn’t super tanky, yes, but it won’t be brutal damage. Overall blades is fairly weak for its cooldown.
As you say, the threat comes from the Kyrian spell of Flag used alongside Shadowblades. Most people though are unaware of it and throw a lot of stuff in the fave of blades, and then they get hit by Flagellation Vanish and die in 3s.
Obviously Sub Rogues right now are only doing significant and threatening damage with legendaries and/or covenant spells. Without these, no real threat.
I used to play with a guy who’d react to either Combustion or Blades near the start of the season and we’d lose most RMs due to that, until I realised what he did and told him to react to flag instead of blades. Then he stopped dying.
Kyrian Rogues will always use EB during Blades though so reacting to that is not a bad move at all.

If you read what I said, after I spoke to someone they informed me Blades on its own isn’t huge. So I said you were right in part, it’s not huge, but it’s not nothing either.
I miss took it’s value that’s all, now I know. I though since it’s part Shadow dmg, doubles your combo point generation and 30% Shadow Strike dmg it would have been more impactful. But I was wrong about.

idk they’re kind of awkward together. with a bit of luck i can do all 4 anima points on a good kidney go without blades, with blades more like 2. blades on a cheap shot go with reprimand is basically pointless as well cause you cheap reprimand evis evis cheap evis, with mfd anyway.
sometimes i do stack them though. but i do kinda like spreading them out. they don’t clearly synergise like flag and blades do.

you’re good. my bad if i was annoying. and yeah the tooltip looks cool, and it is a decent-ish cooldown in pve, it’s just in pvp you spend so much time eviscerating and stunning that you barely get to use the effect. and it lasts for ages but you only need like half of that most of the time.

I actually asked Shadenox about it and after, since I’m not a Rogue so I wasn’t 100% on it. After he explained it made sense what you said, he also pointed it even with the double point generation it only lets you Evis 1 global sooner than without and like you say, you can’t spend every global on Shadow Strike since you’re re stunning etc so you can’t even take full advantage of that either.
Surprised me abit to hear that to be honest, I thought it would have much bigger. But it’s was good information to learn since now I can see if it’s bait or not depending on what’s paired with it.

Ah. Well. I mostly play Deeper and so my comment was about that more. I find that 7s Kidney is too powerful to pass up, and it somehow feels better with Sub CP generation on goes. Oh and it further buffs ER empowered Evis too for cool damage.
But yes, since 2 to 5 are empowered Blades isn’t super gamechanger with either Kidney goes or Cheap Shot goes if you have ER. Still I like to Blades with ER on Cheap Shot goes because usually the sequence allows you to get a 7 CP Eviscerate during the first Cheap Shot and a 5, 6 or 7 CP one right after the first Cheap Shot (depending on Shadow Techniques), and the last Cheap Shot gives you two instead of one, so you get that 7CP Eviscerate to end the go too which doesn’t happen without Blades unless you get extremely lucky with Shadow Techniques.
The sequence I talk about is something like Cheap Shot > CDs with Blades > ER > Evis (4 or 5 so 7) > Shadowstrike > Cheap Shot > Evis (5 if no procs, can then be 7 if you landed 4 earlier, if you landed 5 before then this is 5, and can be 6 of you proc) > Cheap Shot > Evis (will always be 7 because if no proc you land 2, if proc you land 3, both are available).
Hope it makes sense. Because without Blades well you lose on a tiny bit of damage there but also you will have to Cheap, ER, Evis with 3 or 4, Shadowstrike, Cheap Shot, Evis with 3 or 4 again, Cheap, and then you need a proc or you have only one. So, if you aren’t lucky with procs your 2nd Evis might be a 3 CP one or a 4 CP one, and you may not have a last one. Unless you hold the global on the 2nd Evis until the 3rd Cheap, then Evis in which case you’ll hit 7 but the go only has 2x Evis when it could have had 3. So, Deeper plus a Cheap Shot go is to me the only scenario in which Blades really matter at all (which is why it is rather minor) because as you pointed out if you play MfD and/or if you have a Kidney you won’t need it to land the right numbers.
But in this one scenario, it changes things if you use them alongside ER !
