Agreed but it’s not happening, sadly. High end raiders didn’t want to go back to lower content to gear up/attune new recruits or alts, so the new recruits/alts had to be given ways to gear themselves up. As for the new/low end players? Well, they get better gear as a side effect of the above changes, pushing them past their learning curve and making them dependent on said gear sources. There’s a big gap between the floor and the ceiling and it’s growing wider and all the connecting tethers have been severed.
I don’t know about that. I’m sure there’s people asking for reasonable things for m0 as well. I haven’t checked the lfd in recent times, not since legion. But even then I remember laughing at “EoA0 890+ ilvl” groups. I distinctly remember a poor guy back in wrath that accidentally queued for forge of souls hc with around 3k gs and immediately a vote kick went up. Thankfully I managed to convince the group to not kick him and we finished the run without deaths or wipes, even though the “undergeared” guy was the tank.
Some people will always be reasonable and some will always want a free ride
Totally agree with you. I’m not surprised to see this thread keeps going long after BfA release.
Kittenpaws, you can keep screaming “lies” as much as you want, but it’s the truth. Some people will deliberately refuse some non top-tier classes or people with low ilvl.
As many explained, the difference is very simple. LFG puts you in a group automatically and if somebody leaves, he gets a debuff, so people will likely stay and give it a few tries.
Here you have the possibility to pick classes and ilvls and have the right to refuse people with no downside. What is it you don’t understand, or don’t believe here?
I challenge you to pick any of your alts in 330 blue gear and go find a group in less than 10 minutes.
Okay since I am being illogical one here, I went to group finder and looked at all the groups that are doing m0.
h ttps://imgur.com/a/6aZlPoc
Print screened all of them so there is no bias, so out of 8 dungeons, 2 had any ilvl requirement set at all, one being 325 which is reasonable and one being 375 which is unreasonable.
So please keep telling me how group finder is filled with groups that always ask for illogical stuff.
Edit: remove the space between h and t in the link, doesn’t let me post it otherwise.
Again to reiterate, because random people just keep dropping into this thread proclaiming ‘zomg m0 isz teh ezmode lololol. git gud.’
This is NOT about the difficulty. This is NOT about the queueing system.
This is about CHOICE. About being able to run a dungeon in the difficulty you prefer, for WHATEVER REASON. The reason is secondary here. It’s about the lack of choice.
Now then, this issue WAS fixed, but we know that 8.2 will bring us a new dungeon which will again only be available in Mythic. Which SHOULD NOT happen. For everyone who wants to do Mythics, awesome, go ahead, but why do you feel the need to force other players in there as well? Players who DON’T want to be there.
I am certain that if these quests where locked behind “heroic only” dungeon difficulty, everyone would be happy and no one would complain. Even though there would be no choice as well. And that’s because everyone can queue for heroic. So stop being a hypocrite
No I’m sure there would be plenty of people asking: ‘why isn’t this dungeon available in mythic?’. Choice is good. We don’t all like the same things. We have those different difficulties for a reason, so why make these silly exceptions?!
The fact that I wouldn’t complain because I don’t do mythics (so it wouldn’t concern me at all), doesn’t make me a hypocrite. I can’t be forced to care about something that doesn’t impact me in the slightest. So stop your trolling please.
You aren’t illogical One group had a relatively high but reasonable requirement, one had an unreasonable. The others just didn’t list their requirements. It’s safe to assume that the one looking for “tank for rush” won’t take a 325 tank for example. Same applies to “quick run”/“fast zerg” ones. Also it’s fairly easy to notice that most of the dungeons aren’t even represented in that list.
I’m not saying that nobody is asking for reasonable things, don’t get me wrong. Just that the people who feel they’re running into these “brick walls” are certainly not wrong either. It’s easy to dismiss their claims, but it doesn’t make the problem go away
You are a hypocrite because you advocate for “choice” but you would be happy if the dungeon was heroic only. Because it wouldn’t concern you personally anymore, so then it’s all good!
Very nice printscreen you’re showing us there. Confirmation bias much? Now get on an alt and try to apply into one of these groups with an unwanted class and tell us how it went.
Or don’t. Believe in whatever you want to believe. There’s a reason why people are complaining about main story locked behind MM content, and it’s not just laziness.
Well it’s alright, if people are unsure or concerned if a certain group will accept them, it is always good to just list your own group with whatever requirements. Even put a description like “doing a story line quest, going slow and easy” and if someone will violate those requirements, you have the power to remove them from the group.
Now if you join an automated dungeon with 4 other randoms put by a machine, the chance that you can do the dungeon the way you want to do it is much lower. Since the chance that other 4 also joined for the story is very low.
Now in my eyes, m0 is much better place to do storylines because of above mentioned reasons.
I didn’t apply to any of these groups, just looked over them. And there is no bias because there were only 8 groups in the group finder and I printscreened them all.
I said it was happening a lot and I’ve seen it a lot more than that screenshot, but maybe it’s the time of day or how long the dungeon’s been out, IDK.
I really like your point that people can start their own group and specify it won’t be a speed run. It’s easy to cry victim, so this is a really good shout.
I still hate forced grouping in this way though. LFG is a nicer system for how I like to play.
1 out of 8 still leaves you with 7 perfect groups to apply to. Which in my eyes is an alright chance.
Just wanted to point out that it doesn’t happen that often, heck I would say that it happens very rarely. Someone said that they haven’t looked at the group finder since legion, so I just wanted to show that people are scared to look for no reason. There is no big bad wolf in there.
Depends who “you” is If it’s me, all groups you screenshot except the 375 (I’m at “only” 374) and the 325 (not a healer) would be fine. If “you” is a dps player like shunka, there’s only 2 he could apply to. 2/8 isn’t that bad if I have to be honest - but it’s not in “all’s good” region either.
Or they could make their own group using the group finder tool. That could work for sure, though I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up waiting for an hour for it to fill up. I haven’t played bfa in some time but I have to admit that even in legion I had more trouble getting a group together than I did in tbc. And I played a dps in TBC while I’m playing tank now
