Originally I had anticipated a loosening of the faction restrictions with 9.0, allowing you to roll a Blood Elf and join the Alliance with a High Elf look. But since Blizzard was only misleading us with the Anduin, Saurfang, Jaina and Thrall dialogue in 8.2.5, this is no longer looking to be an option.
