GM banned a world buff dispeller for 6 months because of his streamer getting dispelled

Gm needs to lose his job.

if you think this wasnt done in vanilla you prob were 3 years old playing with mister teddy. i played a shadow priest back then and if i could piss of people my day was good. we did mc lava kills dispell drowning etc etc . We knew all the raiding times from other guilds and we made sure no one entered fully buffed. welcome to a pvp server get over it or find a way around it.

the funny thing about this streamer is, he asked first his guild to wait for him 10 min so he can clear his zg. then he logs his other toon not showing on stream and then he cryā€™s he got streamsniped for his buffs. its the same dude that adressed the banwave for people that didnā€™t do anything wrong but now he uses his personal GM friend to actualy Grief an other player to get banned!

GM should be fired I dont know what we even discussing here. Prob not a first player he randomly banned as well.

It isnā€™t against the rules and should not result in a ban.
If theyā€™re gonna start banning for this they need to update their rules straight away to make it clear that dispelling enemy players is against the rules.
Give us a list of the abilities weā€™re allowed to actually use in PvP combat without being banned.
Or yā€™know, fire the GM who did this.

Based off that, if I die on the way to BWLā€¦ and it makes me angry, the enemy should get bannedā€¦?

Just reroll to a PvE server if you donā€™t want to risk losing your wbuffs.

If you do something in game for the sole purpose of making somebody angry or wasting somebodyā€™s time, you are a griefer. Accept that simple fact.

It makes people angry to get killed in PvP too. Some would consider it a waste of their time to get killed in PvP. Should we ban all PvP? Stupid logic.

My opinion is this.

Is Dispelling world buffs against the rules? No.

Is it morally wrong? Yes.

Should you get banned for doing it? No.

Itā€™s like dispelling someones Arcane Intellect. Actually Iā€™m not sure if you can do that.

Ī™ hate griefers.

I think the GM did good to ban said troll.

Fanbois of banned troll can hug the carebear for all I care.

Ofc blizzard will not comment here. They dont care. And we priests will keep dispelling and dispelling. :kissing_heart:

Reroll to a PvE realm, if you donā€™t like PvP interaction.

Simple as that.

No, thatā€™s called playing the game. Itā€™s World of WARcraft, PVP server. The whole point is to fight and undermine the progress of opposing faction. Dispelling is exactly that. Thereā€™s no such thing as PvP griefing on a PvP server. Read the terms of service.

Regardless the case-- Dispelling world buffs, wasnā€™t, isnā€™t and shouldnā€™t be a ā€˜ā€˜banableā€™ā€™ offence-- on a mind you, a PvP server.

Dispelling World Buffs is not griefing, it is part of World PvP. Sure, dispelling someone just because ā€˜ā€˜dispell LULZā€™ā€™ makes you an A-hole in the eyes of those getting dispelled, but heyā€¦ It isnā€™t against ToS, it isnā€™t illegal to do, if that is your playstyle and if that is what you enjoy doing in WoW then more power to you, it isnā€™t any different from people killing low lvl players in open world, and you donā€™t see people getting banned for that, nor should they ever fear getting a potential ban for that on a PVP server.

If a GM actually did ban someone for dispelling world buffs, that ban should be pulled back immediately, and those in charge at Blizzard over this GM should take some serious look into this case and take the according actions.

So what if he did it for the lulz as you say? Itā€™s on a PVP server. Go play on a none-PVP server if you canā€™t handle player-vs-player interaction, that includes ganking, trolling and pvp in the open world. If anything, I will call it clever usage of in-game mechanics.

It has never been a banable offence before, and it doesnā€™t state anywhere that it has been, Everyone was clear about what a PvP server on Classic meant-- no restrictions, as long as you donā€™t use any glitch or ā€˜ā€˜jumpsā€™ā€™ advantages you are cool.

roll on a pve server, if you dont want to get dispelledā€¦ i have nothing to say to people crying over pvp stuff happeningā€¦ if hes a well known dispeller, then spawncamp him or what everā€¦ i dont care what you doā€¦ but dont fooking cryā€¦ jezzā€¦ generation snowflake hits againā€¦ i only wanna pvp when " i want to" and if i can jump someone in my favorā€¦ stop cry, over losing 20 sec faster raid clear from a buffā€¦

No, I will stay on a PvP server and I will continue to laugh at Griefer fanbois.

BTW, good luck trying to dispel me, nobody has ever managed to do so.

The vast majority of world pvp encounters are to grief. The one initiating it is generally wasting the opponents time. Be it a corpse run or a port back to dire maul.

Griefing is essential to world of warcraft. If you donā€™t like it you can roll on the relatively dead pve/rp realms.

Canā€™t really dispel you, if Iā€™m alliance priest myself :frowning:

But they arenā€™t griefing, itā€™s literally PvPing.
Itā€™s like whining about a priest mind controlling you off a boatā€¦ thatā€™s PvP.

Youā€™re a rogue, you can gank people all the timeā€¦ is that griefingā€¦? should you get banned for that? lol.

techniqually actually it is.

If a Player is trying to for example partake in a Speed run, or a Orange log, those buffs are nessercary, the player has intentionally damanged that players chances at either of these things by their actions.

question is does it deserve a banā€¦ prolly not. it i guess does depict the WoW community in a Negative light to a Audience of potiental buyers i guess. some players may make assumptions off this behaviour and simply never try the game.

People wonder why new players dont come to WOW Classic and your doing this crap to em xDDD

well, if i sit in Warmode And kill someone on farm. I can also be banned for the fact im repeatitively doing it.

Mind controlling someone a few times off a Bridge for half hour is funny, persisting to do it for a Week is Less soā€¦ u cant intentionally sit in places for large quantities of time trolling players constantlyā€¦ and tbh quite a few have been banned/warned for this sorta behaviour.

the fact the GM Knows how long the person has been doing it for, Likely screams ā€œblizzards been watching him for a whileā€

which means the initial investigation happened PRIOR the streamers incidentā€¦ it was simply the last incident before they did something. It is griefing if ur doing it for a Entire week lmfao.

Itā€™s not griefing though, itā€™s PvP.

But thatā€™s not bannable, thatā€™s literally PvP.
They could just disable go to spirit > resurrection sickness > TP away.

Itā€™s only griefing, if youā€™re targeting a specific person for days on end.

Stick to a PvE realm, if youā€™re not a fan of any form of PvP.
