Good Bye Wow

It has been proven many times by ex-GMs that Blizzard doesn’t care enough about the gold-buying (because they make money off it aswell, short-sighted, but they do)
I’m not suggesting that they actively participate in, but we’ve seen what they were capable of in the past…

We will not be able to change that, it’s the kind of world we live in

This guy is a notorious gold buyer, he’s been quite open about it on other threads, so no wonder he doesn’t want the gravy train to be rerailed.

As far as I’m concerned him, and those like him are just cheaters, no different from people who use illegal hack mods or automations. He might as well just pay someone else to play the game for him.

Gotta be honest and say i’m not far behind you. Sept 5th 2005 I started WoW (on this toon, but was human back then). But mine’s for different reasons. The clear lack of understanding of people who play here (ie its a looooong game) means people buy/sell boosts. I hate them…always hated them and it’s a terribad thing on our game (yes it’s OUR game). There are no measures Blizz an take…too many people are just edited by moderator. Why play classic if you dont accept the longer time? Retail (and SoD) exists for you!

Obviously boosts coincide with buying gold to pay said boosters, so bots become prevalent in the game. Bots were always here ( i remember finding my first bot in Azshara back in 2006) but what can be done?

The only way to defeat bots is bringing in blizz token and noone wants that…so…now awaiting Ashes of Creation (for 5 + years…doubt it will happen before I die lol).

Like I said, it was revealed to me in a dream. Elune herself came down on a beam of moonlight, driving a massive green owl named Bob, and told me “Nicolay, no more than one in twenty heroes ever made a deal with the Nethrezim, receiving wordly posessions in exchange for their soul. Also you look kinda cute :3”
Then she kissed me on a forehead and drove off in her green owl making a noise somewhere half way between hoots and wrooms.

True story it really happened in IRL for real (in a dream).

Can confirm and verify.

An Object Orientated Approach to MMO Player Demographics - Analytics, and Tabulation (Sark, Noah, Oxford University Press, 2025) supports this with very clear and meticulously compiled data that came to him after dozing off on the bus.

The results speak for themselves.

According to Sark’s figures, only 4.8 per cent of World of Warcraft players have bought gold directly from a seller, which is indeed less than 5%.

When presented with irrefutable evidence like this it’s to be hoped that the argument can now be put to rest once and for all.

Can I have your stuff?

THEY WHERE BANNED BUT REMADE TOONS WITH THE SAME NAME!!!
these green posters are doing some incredible gymnastics

More impressive is that they auto-rejoin my friendlist. I never had any of my Hardcore friends that re-rolled do this.

It´s kinda fun to read all comments, special about what wow “should be” and “the lost of the old spirit” and so on …

The game is 20 years old. We´ve done all this over and over again and there is hardly nothing left of the calm, nice exploring-the-game casual playing.
Who does that except some few new wow-players?

In the old days only few did min-max and played with flasks and full consumes. Most ppl didn´t even know how to min-max.
Today you must have ALL to get a raid-spot. You must top your parse and be ready to speed-run, maybe not 100 % real “speed-running” but still high tempo.

Allmost every “average good player” today would have been a top player in the old days.

So what does this give now? I dont think the average player can nor are interersted in spending 6-10 hours about every day to keep up with the golds you need to stay in top-shape. We are not young kids any more, we have grown old and have job, family, etc etc …

Easy gold is an easy way to make this game able to play for alot of ppl, and with that comes goldfarmers, boosters and bots. We can all hate it but I honestly think it is atleast allmost nessessary to make this game going.

For classic wow, maybe, you have to re-design the whole game so people can play without spending so much time to be able to raid, just to limit the need of golds, to remove the bots and sellers? But that would also remove the feeling of “classic”.

Dont think there are any good solutions … Sadly

So you are saying… the green poster is lying on behalf of Blizzard? What? How is that possible!?

I am not saying this, no … it’s in you mind :innocent:

i am not into much change, but in late era servers they could add that you could by BoP pots and flask for BG tokens.

Kids? What kids? I was 42 when I started playing WoW in 2006. The oldest player I knew back then was 69. He must be 88 now, if he’s still alive.

Poor argument. Lots of players had a familiy life, jobs and kids just as well back in 2004.

The solution is very simple. Just play the game. Do as much as you can achieve. Be happy about what you can do and stop crying about things beyond reach.

Accept that not always everything is possible. Do your best and be content. There’s no need to complain.

I was a bit older than Linal back then. If anything I have MORE time now than in 2006  Kids are not babies in arms any longer, I know my job, housekeeping is at a minimum … And like Linal people in my guild were older, we jokingly called it Grannys’ Guild - yes I was one of the younger members

So please let Classic be Classic. No changes!

I hate that “I don’t have time to play because I have a job, kids etc. so please give me instant gratification so I can get it all instantly” argument.

If they don’t have time to play, they don’t have time to do anything, they certainly don’t have time to raid.
