Disclaimer:
Casual player is NOT a ranker chasing R13/14 or whatever.
Casual is NOT honor grinder that cares only about honor per hour.
Casual is NOT expecting welfare epics from PvP.
Casual IS a player who wants to join occasionally some BG and have fun in relatively fair environment.
I don’t know how but it’s almost unreal how Blizzard with every step, with every decision and change they manage to make the game worse.
So with new changes casual players who enjoyed some PvP have 2 options:
- AV with 1-2h q time in prime time (I dread q time for last 3-4 days of a week if today I had around 1h q time)
- WSG with fast q time but 10/10 games PUG vs Premade that begins with “don’t res when they start camping gy” strat.
So what I am supposed to do? Quit the game? Look for wPvP on 30:70 A:H server? Get corpsecamped from 15th second of the game in WSG? Wait 1h+ for AV game during prime time of the week? AV Q is 1h+ on Wednesday which means on later days of the week it will be like 2h+ so I should accept I can do few AV games just on 1-2 days per week?
It’s not about honor gain, it’s about that Blizzard literally REMOVED PvP fun for casual players who just want to PvP at their pace for the sake of PvPing and having fun.
So yeah I just wanted to congratulate Blizzard on how good they are doing with changes that hurt only casual players and I wanted to mention how my circle of WoW Classic friends is getting thinner and thinner by each month and if that was the intention Blizzard all I can say is - good job, well done!
Inb4 “git gud” - I wonder when every casual and semi-casual player eventually quits the game at who you will /flex your PvP epics? Other fully geared hardcore PvPers? Meh.

people forget that after the horde gets the ranks they want, their queue times will go down, because
less Horde queueing = less people ahead of you in the line to get into the bg.
So, stop whining, put your socks back on and sit back on that chair and wait for the no lifers to finish ranking. The rest of the game will be entirely for casuals. And the occasional no lifer with r14 gear flexing on you
1-2 weeks from now all the no lifers will crawl out of the AV caves (and WSG) back outside into the real (virtual) world along with the rest of the people. They will slaughter us outside, like the lambs we are, we will whine and beg for mercy. But there is no stopping an axe of a Grand Marshal/High Warlord. It does what it wants because it is king.

AV is not a pvp BG. If you don’t want to premade WSG or wipe world buffs etc retail offers far mroe enjoyable pvp with arena and RBGs.
Op is right, there is no place in this game for those who want to play casually a few hours/week.
Dunno if this is how blizzard intended. It was certainly not like this back in 05

IT certantly was same like in 2005 .

All you have to do is look at it like a dungeon. Find a group (there are plenty or make one yourself), voice chat is optional, then queue up. If you’re going with likeminded people it’s less like the pug you will normally find yourself in.
I’m a casual player. My premade are not super good, we just play for fun and it is
Sometimes we only go with 3-4 people and we give the premades a run for their money, sometimes even win ^^

Dont want to sit in AV que? Reroll ally…
Vanilla isnt casual friendly game, never has been. Thats why some people liked playing on private servers and not Retail.
If you cant handle being stomped by hardcore players by playing 1-2h a day yourself then Retail is the game for you, not Classic.
Please don’t insult Vanilla. Classic is nowhere close to Vanilla as far as the player experience go.
Classic meta is full of tryhards. Vanilla was chill and casual compared to other mmos at the time. Yes you had hc guilds then as well, but it was not 60-80% of the playerbase like it is now. Classic is more like the adhd / sociopath ugly twin of vanilla
But you are absolutely right to say that the Classic -playerbase- is absolutely not casual friendly.

Feel free to join alliance, no queues, and great pleasure getting stomped by unstunnable unfearable zugzug swarm.
Wanted “relatively fair” game and joined unfair faction?, i got some news, you are not alone so smart

I can’t believe blizz did dis. The que wasn’t instant yesterday. I had to wait 2 minutes, and start with 39 other people on my team.
I agree, and don’t forget they also screwed casuals PvE wise. Now there are 20 Hordes ganking you double the time at flight points instead of the previous 10…
I am a casual myself, I like both PvP and PvE but I don’t have time for both. So one day I do one of the two when I have some time. The situation is very dire on both fronts.
Give me a free transfer so I can gtfo to a PvE server please. It’s not right to keep me trapped on PvP with such radical and generally anti Alliance changes. It’s way too different from what I signed up for originally.

Vanilla was chill and casual compared to Classic because we all were young and noone knew how to play. Not many people playing WoW had competitive mindset.
The game is still basicly the same, its just more competitive now. Competitive not because game mechanics, but peoples mindset. And it should stay like that, otherwise we will end up with Retail style game again for snowflake type players.

Vanilla was considered chill and casual when it was released.
C’mon now, this thread is not FACTION based whine thread.
Both factions have it bad since latest Blizzard PvP changes for casual players.
ALLIANCE:
- AV shorter Qs but getting stomped and gy farmed 95% of games.
- WSG short Qs but 10/10 games vs tryhard premades.
HORDE:
- AV with such a long Qs that even winning most of the games isn’t worth it for casual players, waiting 1h+ to win in 15-20min by camping allies that give up after 10min of the game then waiting all the “rankers” to farm enough kills before they decide to end the game is… simply not fun.
- WSG short Qs but 10/10 games against tryhard premades.
There is simply no place anymore, any day and at any time of the day, for casual player who wants to occasionally enjoy some PvP. Before changes you could at least do WSG with 10min Q (for Horde) and have 50% chance to be a PuG vs PuG and actually have some fun and memorable time playing WoW Classic. Now that is completely gone. One whole aspect of the game is removed from casual players and that is so sad.
Blizzard did changes that cater to like 100 Horde rankers per realm and some casuals/semi-casuals who thought changes will make it better while in reality now it’s 100 times worse than before for everyone but those in best premades.
Now that #nochanges is literally a meme they can as well make it so premade vs premade and pug vs pug is a thing. Isn’t that what rankers want? Serious skilled based ranking… oh wait, they scout for premades and leave if they don’t get pugs because only honor per hour matters and nothing else.
Meh.

Serious PvP was never for the casual crowd.
If you want guaranteed wins, you can’t be casual.
If you can go with the flow, take what you get, enjoy what kills you can manage to pull off, accept loss and GY camping and being farmed for honour then you can be as casual as you like.
The matchmaking in WoW has always been non-existent.
WoW has had terrible / non-existent matchmaking for 15 years. I guess it’s not something they are ever going to change.
Only solution there has ever been is to fight fire with fire. Make your own pre-made, get twinked up, do what they do to you back to them. You have all the same options at your disposal as they do.
PvP is a dog eat dog world. The big dogs win. As it should be, perhaps.
It’s WARcraft after all, not EVERYONEGETSATROPHYcraft.
War is not fair.
