Good job Blizzard, you fully killed PvP for casual crowd

Disagree. I wasn’t young and I did know how to play and I was very competitive (Vanilla Marshal rank 12).

We regularly used to face pre-mades … Horde twink teams full of rank 12-14 enemies with raid gear.

We did what must always be done if you wish to succeed in WoW PvP. Fight fire with fire.

I ran with an Emerald Dream pre-made that included ranks 12, 13 and 14 and we were on voice comms. The times when we fought the Horde teams with the same ranks also on voice comms were epic.

Sure it depends on server and on you, but on Emerald Dream at least the PvP scene was extremely competitive back in the old days. We hated the Horde and the Horde hated us. This was of course in the days before Realm merging when all the players were from your Realm, so you knew them all and developed serious rivalries. Reputations were on the line. It was personal. It was WAR.

I loved it. But it definitely wasn’t ‘chill and casual’ on my server.

lol. All these crowd who literally hates casuals now begin to talk for them for their premade agenda. Or making a horde alt level it to 10 and complain from their perspective like the patch was bad. The patch worked as intended to stop queue manipulation by premades who harming everyone else than themselves.

For the first time, even the queues go up a little bit, enjoying AV that I craved for long without a dodged queue who forced me into 10 vs 40 with 5 AFK. Talk for yourself do not generalize “casuals” as I am one of them.

No it was not considered chill and casual…
Pre 1.12 patches were total pain and grindfest. The more you nolifed the better you were compared to the rest.

You’re wrong. When WoW released in 2005 it was considered to be casual to other MMO’s out there.

That’s a rose tinted way of looking at it. But in actual fact the amount of people pushing for R13/14 is a minority of players. Server imbalance causes long queues and even when these players finish ranking that isn’t going to decrease horde queue times.

In fact you could look at it another way and that is when Alliance rankers have finished who have a much smaller player base then Horde queues will increase further, add in to that Alliance players who are only playing AV for rep and the queues will increase even more.

WoW Classic was an casual game before and has always been.

The problem today is that we have a better way to communicating, hence is why we know everything aswell.

For some reason, people strive for Rank 14 which i dont know why tbh.
You basically put ur account in danger by botting constantly, or give up your personal life for an title and some gear that’s gonna be replaced in a few months.
(That title has lost its respect now, since everyone is just botting in PVP anyway.)

Vanilla Wow was always about the experience and nothing else.
People played the game with their irl-friends since LAN was a thing then, thats why the game delivered so much more.

People looked up Thottbot and Allahkhazam for answers, but people didnt know as much as today.

I’ve been around since 2005 and quitted after the WoTLK and after my experience with the classic launch - this is not the vanilla experience and it’s saddening.

I dont wanna point fingers, or blame a certain crowd but this community in general has been abit too much min-maxing for me.

People are racing on who can clear MC the fastest - like it even matters lol.
Are you that desperate for attention? Cmon. Nobody cares.

Black Lotus prices are up to 110g each now since people think that flasks are needed in BWL.

I see every rogue, warrior, hunter running around in the same leather gear without any personality at all.

Items being reserved in dungeons, and everyone following the same BiS guides on wowhead.

And i had to do the same to even raid, which is why i quit the game aswell.

Nothing brings back the true spirit of Vanilla wow, then an rogue officer giving you an spreadsheet of items that you need to collect before entering MC - right?

Then why are you people crying here for days and weeks?
Its still basicly the same game, people just got better at playing it…

Dude, we’re reacting to the people like you who first began the crying. However, i think we both can agree that Blizzard has messed up big time with Classic. AV should never have been launched the way it was to begin with. With these changes AV and WSG is basically unplayable for a lot of people. This was not the case back in the day.

Only thing i agree is the AV part. 1.12 AV is way too easy, the whole 1.12 patch is too easy.
By game mechanics WSG should always be filled with premades.
Even if Blizz changes the WSG que matchmaking, then premades would join 5man and still stomp over casuals and casuals would still end up crying…

It is like that in all games, you probably want to play RP or PvE server with that attitude.

That guy gets it.

Was chill and casual compared to other mmo. It was literally the most casual of all. It was a cheap way to attract players from War 3 and Diablo 2 fame.

Also, it is not because you’re good at something that you need to be an hypercompetitive jerk to others. It is like RL if you’re good at something. Humility is nice sometimes.

You guys say Classic is much different from BFA, but from my point of view, Classic mindset IS BFA mindset : spec stacking for mythic raid and mythic plus, timed runs, split runs, ignoring non optimal things in everything (class, leveling, gold, professions) etc etc.

You guys transformed Vanilla into a broken e-sport. (Broken as class balance is bonkers).

I mean, if this is your way to have fun, that is fine really. But when you get the majority of people with this psycho rigid min max mindset, you basically close the doors of your mmo behind you. New players won’t catch up and will leave. That is pretty much retail mythic and m+ in a nutshell.

If you want Classic to thrive for years, you need to put some water in your wine guys

This.

Imagine Being competitive in a 15 years old game, play other game or stream it like monkeynews, no interrest otherwise lul

Classic is a casual game

Try 40-49 level BG. 60 isn’t worth it for pvp.

I can assure you, there is nothing Blizzard can do to prevent you from getting destroyed.

If i understand correctly you dont have problem with the mechanics of the game but with the mindset of people playing it. But you will never take out competitive mindset out of those people who play for win.
If Blizz would end up changing game mechanics to protect casuals from getting stomped by competitive players. This would be totally different game, something similar to Retail.

May i ask WHY horde never make WSG premades?
What’s your problem people seriously?

Adapt. Also adjust your expectations.

Just don’t play PvP at all! Forget it exists! How hard can it be? WoW is a PvE game, stop getting mad over it.

If one thinks PvP will be a reason to play and stay in Classic, I’ve got bad news for you - especially if playing as anything else than total casual (not ment in a taunting way). Then again queues and setups kinda go against that way of playing aswell.

Content wise, we are more or less one BG away from getting nothing more/new added to the world outside of raids. Apart from perhaps a small uprise in wPvP action along with the updates to Silithus (Phase 5) this is a good, or as bad, as it gets. I would say “as good”, seeing more and more people playing less and less every day. The small upswings to activity will come with the remaining 3 Phases, and lets be honest, that wont effect the activity outside of raids much or for very long.

I can only speak for myself when I say I have a hard time to engage in PvP or any PvP-activity in any way, shape or form apart from when I accidentally stumble upon it.
Spending hours running around empty zones or sitting in queues to take part in a sort of PvP that I got bored with doing 15 years ago, that is if colliding and exchanging some skills/spells on un-even terms with the opposite zerg or semi-afk player is counted as “PvP”, is something I dont have time with nore enjoy very much.
I doubt many would stay for that activity alone for very long, unless they are 100% in love with the process (which is kinda hard to imagine sometimes, seeing many rankers spend their time wishing the grind was over while continuing to watch Netflix). The remaining ones wont be enought to keep that going for very long.

Hence, doing this for months and months - day in and out, in order to gain rewards which I only will be able (seen from a PvP perspective, I know they are valuable in PvE) to use in the same boring loop that got me there, is simply boring and numbing. Specially when we all know where the end of the road is and can predict the way people will play the game.

15 years ago (as an example) one didnt know the items in Phase 4 was coming or that Phase 6 was the last one. The world and zones were filled with players spending more time to do less things, giving atleast players a chance to get some wPvP. It made more sence and was funnier to grind in a new mmo without an end.
Doing the grind now however is like beeing on the Titanic, locked up in your room practising a new instrument 18 hours / day instead of enjoying the view while you can ^^

Apart from that grind, be it worth for some, what other things (and how much of it) can a player do in PvP in order to make em stay for very long or keep coming back? Not very much.

So like I said in the start, If one thinks PvP will be a reason to play and stay in Classic, I’ve got bad news for you.

Stop crying and reroll on literally any pvp realm as alliance. You will see pvp constantly. World pvp, instant bgs etc. Jesus hordes are such a crybabies.
