Planing to get a new computer soon but do not know which to pick yet.
Have looked on these 2(MSI computers).
One have GTX 1080 8 GB(512 SSD) and the other have GTX1070 8GB(256 SSD).
Both are Intel Core i7 8700 / 3.2 GHz,16GB RAM.
The other difference are 256 GB SSD+2 TB Harddrive in one and the other have 512 GB SSD+2 TB Harddrive.
What are the difference on the graphic cards?
Price difference are 200 Euro too.
i don’t think it would make any kind of noticeable difference for wow, but if you play more demanding games you’ll have better performances with the 1080 ofc
Considering it’s easier to upgrade your SSD later, I’d recommend getting the 1080 one. If you never ever are going to play anything other than WoW and don’t feel like upgrading your SSD, then take the one with more SSD space, since you can also install WoW on it and it’s going to run faster (although I think you’ll be able to install your BIOS and WoW on the 256 gb SSD as well, so just go with the 1080 one).
If you are only playing WoW then the graphics card you have really doesn’t matter too much, since the game relies more on your CPU than your GPU. For the difference between those 2 cards, you can compare the benchmarks here:
As you can see, there isn’t much difference between them. The 1080 has slightly faster clocking speeds, and that’s it. I’d still get the pc with the 1080 in it, but only because it has the 512GB SSD in it.
if you onley play wow then the 1070 is already too much for wow, if you play other games aswell then i whould go for the 1080.
at the person saying go get 2080ti, not onley is that card overpriced becuase of the useless RTX function but also alot of them are having problems like dead on arrival or having alot of artifacting and its best to avoid them atm.
battlefield 5 when you turn on RTX but then your fps drops to like 40-60 wich makes it completly useless except if you enjoy low fps, better to save money and wait for gtx/rtx 3xxx next year
mostly the card just not being strong enough to render at higher fps with RTX on, you can see here that his 2080ti is pretty much running at 98%-99% whole time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJznsmQtwVI
also another small thing i whould like to add is that if you dont use RTX then the RTX 2080ti is also overkill for battlefield 5 except if you use a 160hz monitor, i get 144fps on ultra with a i9 9900k and a gtx 1070
