Yes I was happily ignoring it, until I got infected at Nathanos, with WM off and no PVP active.
I have no qualms about the event taking place, but for the love of God, don’t assume everybody wants to take part in it, make it optional and don’t throw everybody into it. As a Zombie, you cannot loot, so that directly affects players wanting to progess in the game.
Agreed… imho, one week of a pre-patch event, that hasn’t been held for more than 10 years, really isn’t the end of the world (of Warcraft)…and I’m not a PvP player.
That is a very insular way of looking at it, to be fair, I know of a lot of players who actively enjoy the event, me not so much, but players do need to realise that it isn’t for everybody, and that there should have been some option to opt out of it.
Would you be so quick to defend Blizzard of they did something that would affect your gameplay sometime in the future?
I would simply because it’s time limited , if it was permanent i’d be all up in arms about it , but it’s extremely time limited and the last time it happened was 10 years ago
I take people serious. And i do understand he is a different person with different likes and dislikes. So even how many times we try to understand what makes stuff completely crap for us, he can not grap that. He keeps thinking with his own references. So yeah, we never can agree on the matter.
I was there WM off, there were a large number of Zombies there, I had no PvP on, and made sure that I didn’t tag by using AOE, yet somehow I was infected.
I actually didnt look at any pre patch youtube, like i also did not about content of shadowlands. There are now all walkthroughs of the dungeons, but i actively avoid these. Even with M+ my main content. I let myself surprise. But as i understand from others in these topics, on ptr it was warmode only.
RPGs have a shared world that has experiences in it, we share that world. It’s how we interact.
The idea you should be able to essentially ignore/erase out of existence something that is happening in that world because you find it troubling is nonsense.
The fact it actually affects us this time around is GOOD STORYTELLING. Too many times in WoW we have these great plots and stuff and do we feel them? No. Business as usually in Orgrimmar afking around campfires whilst apparently N’zoth is raging across Azeroth? It’s absolutely farcical.
So long as there is a way to reasonably avoid the event if you want to (ie leave the cities) then it is fine. But asking for the event to disappear for you, because you don’t want to partake, is ridiculous and kills the entire authenticity of the event.
Time Limited yes, but you are ignoring the fact that people don’t want to partake in the event, regardless, What you deem to be fun, could be the worst thing ever for them… As stated elsewhere, it is an MMO, surely that should take into consideration the wants and requirements of all players, which is why the event should be made optional.
That’s not how it works, we all share the same world and story in an MMO, you just can’t simply make it optional because you dislike it. You can however ignore it for the most part.
