Elitist to the bone. The only guilds that blast BWL with ease are the ones having majority players form private servers and also trained a lot on PS before launch. If you have new people that never been there, you need to train a bit.
Yes thatâs quite common, even on pservers before Classic. The more into progression server went the more and more problems were with getting people to a raid. Guilds have to be merged (but that usually backfired) and if not the end.
I pretty much didnât played Classic in 2020. I just donât have any intent/interest into logging in. I did play a bit of 8.3 but it also starts to die out. Itâs Shadowlands alpha or nothing like Iâm usually more interested to play Hearthstone Battleground or replay Baldurs Gate 2 before BG3 etc. than to play any WoW version. There is some sort of lack of meaning, intent.
And whatâs funny - on the pserver I was checking out before Classic released - when they released Naxx even the best guild on the server went, cleared it once and they were done. My guild had like 2-3 raid night and thatâs it. Few bosses only (and thatâs with combined NA and EU people which barely was 40)⌠and after that most players there and âtemporary new playersâ went to leveling in guilds named âno beta accessâ, âno streamers no betaâ
Vanilla WoW is an old game, back then they were new to making stuff plus players were new to raid mechanics, which also had to be handled on a nowadays super slow internet connection. So most of the mechanics are 0/1 - either it will kill you or not. You have time to execute it but there is less room for error where as modern WoW has much more movement and timing mechanics with more avoidable things more often so you canât really compare. Some vanilla mechanics are harder and vice versa. In retail taunt swapping is commonplace but also taunt will succeed, it will not be resisted etc. plus DPS hardly can pull any threat at all.
Depending on your server⌠on defias brotherhood ally side you had helix doing nax, you had crowds like destined for glory (dfg) in AQ, then you had zealots/a second chance doing BWL (think the aegis and GROM were in there as well), and you had a good few guilds getting up to at least Raggy. And that was a lol RP realm⌠if you went to the kiddie realms like magtheridon you had way more.
Sorry, I accidentallyâd a sentence⌠I meant to say per realm per faction. And like I said in the previous post it literally depended what realm you were on⌠same as people giving out about premades in wsg⌠on some servers they werenât a thing⌠on others they were the only thing.
Yup it did, but I was talking about an average across the whole of the servers⌠like on RP realms like earthen ring, there werenât many⌠but on mag, there was several in each bracket. In fact I remember one co worker guild hoping from 4 different aq40 guilds on his NE rogue before eventually trying to jump to a nax guild before he got black listed as a guild hopper.
We now live in an age where trolling, griefing and memeing is the âcoolâ thing to do. We will never have the old community back, that time has passed. Donât get me wrong that happened in Vanilla too and elitism was rife too but that was only a small portion of the player base as opposed to the majority of it nowadays.
You canât have a friendly community if no one wants to be a part of it.
