Guilds have already disbanded because of BWL

So guilds with weak mentals disbanded over bosses that are 15 year old design and you wnna blame the game?

Sure thing dude , blame the game .

After a few hours, most players are ready to move beyond tutorial content. That’s part of why Classic is so popular. Players don’t want to play tutorial content all the way to max level and then move repeat tutorial level end game content multiple times before reaching a point where the game becomes interesting

and what is the issue?
BWL is fine.

Indeed.

You can actually carry bads all the way through AQ40 until perhaps twin emperors - I remember my vanilla guild doing it and it wasn’t until TBC doing Karazhan that we noticed just how hard we had been carrying some players.

I actually thought the guild disbands would start during AQ, not BWL.

Over progress yes but now it’s more due to bore out of core members

Why exactly would other guild’s clear times affect what you want to do?

The people that speed ran BWL spent more time preparing for their speed runs than most casual guilds even spend in the raid.

Wait till they get to Muru in TBC…

I think in general there is a lot of oldschool WoW players that’s been returning, that never adapted to the “new gamestyle” . Ones that came back to Classic to raid what they didnt raid 15 years ago. Just a theory.

The current issue some guilds are facing has nothing to do with the “difficulty” of BWL, which all in all is just somewhat more difficult than Molten Core.

The “wall” that many are facing is the one many mention in the thread; the difficulty to matintain a healthy roster.
There are several factors to why population in Classic isnt, and wont be, stable over time (specially after long Phases). The reasons arent important in this thread.

Nonetheless, guilds with a roster going up and down havent been depending on it as much during MC, one could call it a invisible problem. The gear is less important, the tactics more mindnumbing and the encounters dont require a full raid (or even close to one). This has held alot of guild that were doomed to have troubles in BWL (and future Phases) above the water surface.

A prediction is that more and more players will be drawn to fewer and fewer guilds the longer we progress, and “friendly guilds” based on a few friends along with pugs will be less and less freqvent as they wont be able to gurantee clears.

Keeping 40 men active, interested and happy is harder than any mechanic Classic can offer.

That’s why they should move zg release forwards. 20 man guilds would be a thing imho

ZG is the perfect Raid for casual guilds. And after that AQ20.

Most guilds I know are struggling with attendance now. Very active raiders, disappearing with radio silence.

My own guild still manages to scrape together 40 people on raid night, just barely. But we do have a LOT of raidloggers, which indicates people are somewhat losing interest.

What is worrying about that, is it’s happening in February when a new raid has just come out.

What is it going to be like in the summer? I am expecting AQ to be August or September. ZG and phase 4 could be in a couple of months.

40 people have to assemble for a few hours at least once a week to progress through raids as a guild

It’s a commitment and some folk will not want to progress slowly if their guild does not have a fully geared raid team - because that takes times - you are not going to get 40 people with raid BiS over night

So people who feel they can do better will leave for a guild with generally fully geared folk - and the guild they lady have to progress a new player- or merge with another guild with similar issues

It happens- it’s a question of what folk want out of the game

I really like the guild I am in - a great group of people - we are clearing MC and downing Ony - and we are just starting BWL

It will take us a number of weeks to progress - and for most members that’s fine - it’ll come when it comes

Some guilds will doubtless fold - I don’t see it is a huge issue

I didn’t notice that, but then again I didn’t run many dungeons. I hope it’s so, our guild could use a few new recruits.

I think this is inevitable. A lot of peoples lives are very different to what it was when they played it when they were a kid. They come back for the nostalgia.

They’ve had their fix or have been reminded how much of a suction wow can be on their lives again and stopped.

At least that’s what a few of my friends who played it told me. I even had one friend tell me that he liked it but felt like he was leveling an alt and wanted to go back to progressing his character he’s had all these years.

It’s inevitable guiid will disband.

The amount of guild with :

  • Bad tank
  • Bad healer
  • People w/o enchant or libram
  • People w/o consumables
  • People who have no clue of strategy
  • People who don’t have gold and login only for raid
  • People who are not reliable and join raid “when they can”
  • People who come into PvP spec or with meme spec
  • Struggle to recrut new players because of Warcraftlogs and bad progression, good players tend to avoid guild like that. Private logs is probably the first warning you can get.

Are very very high.

It’s natural selection. They disband, the good players of theses guilds are pick by higher guilds, and the rest will fall into the abyss where they should be.

MC is accessible, and people expected the whole game will be like that. BWL is a bit harder, if you have player that aren’t optimized or are clueless, especially tanks and healers, you can start to feel the bottleneck. DPS is something that is not really relevant in BWL, it will start to be a problem into AQ40 and Naxxramas.

AQ40 and Naxxramas will be last raids that will cleanup the game for all roles.

Not to mention the “I want my guild” mantra that is super bad. You end up with tons of guild, and 75% of them are made by clueless leader.

A good leader + good players that are reliable, are all you want in WoW Classic. You don’t want to waste your time with clueless/unreliable persons.

It’s important to voice this. We have seen it first-hand that Blizzard caters to the whiny minority. If all forum posts are “LOLZ BWL WAS 2 EZ RELEAZ ZG N MAKE RAIDZ HARDORR DUHH” or similar, that just might be implemented.
I hate that it’s necessary and I think it’s pathetic of actual game developers to alter the game to silence a handful of crybabies, but that’s Activision Blizzard for you.

Probably didn’t give them a hard on with their dps or bum the game 24/7 so they weren’t wanted.

Well, it kinda cheapens whole raid, new raid just released. We didnt even start 1st raid and it was already cleared a nightbefore.
