The Roaming Hub has been liberated today from the opressive and tyranival grip of the murderer Thundercaller. It can now set off in earnest and spread Hordes good will, free from the insidious lies of the traitor and those she managed to misguide.
Through unfortunate and back-handed means, the weary travellers, once settled in Thunder Totem in Highmountain, were confronted by a contingent of Horde forces thirsty for dissenting blood.
Rather than let their new alliesâ home descend into chaos, the Hubâs unofficial âCommanderâ was handed over, her people scattered, and the future of the effort uncertain. Highmountainâs lands would have to go without their aid or protection.
Iâll still upload the map and add the missions to our noticeboard if anyone wants to partake in the hub! Rog being gone doesnât mean people canât engage in the plot weâve set up, of course.

1 - Riverbend Raiders
Despite reinforcement, drogbar raiding parties still harass Riverbend on a near-daily basis. Chase off an incoming party, and pursue them to wherever they congregate to break their efforts!
2 - Ironhorn In Need
The continued trouble with drogbar up in the higher peaks of Highmountain has left Ironhorn a fairly isolated settlement. Theyâre in need of a fresh supply of metal, coal and food - youâll be escorting it to itâs destination.
3 - Murder Mystery
Unfortunate news has reached Thunder Totem, one of the many scouting towers keeping Highmountain safe has gone silent. A patrol passing through murmured something about dark magic before they withdrew, not daring to go any closer.
4 - Fel Furnace
With the fall of the Burning Legion and the eyes of the Horde and Alliance turned elsewhere, the Feltotem have begun to coalesce and build their strength once more. A group of their cultists have, with the help of a Fel Lord by the name of KurâGraz, begun to replenish their ranks.
5 - Ships Aground
The new occupants of Highmountainâs northern shore have caused a slew of trouble for the naval traffic in the area. Somehow - for reasons obvious - the Naga have managed to turn off the light at the top of a massive totem serving as a lighthouse, warning sailors of Highmountainâs shallow northern shore. It will need to be re-lit.
All IC w/e aside, I hope this was not done on an OOC level. Because, although Iâve not partaken in the Hub stuff myself, it seemed like a cool initiative and actually bringing some positivity back to the Horde RP scene.
If this gets killed off (possibly literally, although I donât see how, reasonably) because of someone wanting to swing their watzits around, thatâs super Not Ok nor impressiveâŚ
Do we need permission to RP?
When I interact with other members of my (great) faction on Bahala, I donât often feel that thereâs a requirement that asks me to ask other people out of character if itâs okay I interact with their character. I need not ask someone if itâs okay if my tauren talks to them, because I see no reasonable thing for them to be uncomfortable with, and sometimes when my character has been attacked or hit Iâve been fine with that occuring â although perhaps because I clearly flag I am on my TRP3.
There are some things in roleplay that we do (for some) that are felt necessary to inform or talk about out-of-character before doing them. I recently actually had a conversation with an individual who my character has been aggrevating and trying to publicly get stigma for out-of-character because I wanted to make sure they were fine with that. I didnât do it because I needed permission to roleplay what I was roleplaying, but because itâs a generally decent thing to make sure both parties are enjoying themselves, rather than this person feels constantly harassed and targetted by me IC, and might think I have some hidden vendetta against them OOC.
A lot of people similarly ask and make sure about this when it comes to character deaths and important IC actions, but a lot of people similarly hesitate. I honestly understand. Perhaps your character might have the drive to try to murder anotherâs, and perhaps you should ask them if theyâre okay with you doing that if you donât already expressly know, but perhaps youâd rather not to. Whatâs to stop them from sniffing you out like a bloodhound of some impending foreknowledge or wariness to you now that they know on an OOC level of your intentions? It can bring forth bad, awkward, and jarring RP, and Iâve been there.
Iâve been a part of some of it recently, too. Of one party seeking to execute a great, unscripted, ambush without any foreknowledge to another party because the last time they did this, the another party managed to find out through questionable means and use it as foreknowledge IC. It brought along awkward and jarring RP.
Sometimes not a whole group need be told of some upcoming event to make it surprising and dramatic for the players left out the loop, but the characters most primely effected, who are catering stories, events and their characters, should, to me, be told solely beforehand. Work something out, ask itâs okay, trust that some one person isnât going to rat them out to the rest of the party so they all can metagame an arrival. And if they do? Maybe itâs best to avoid. But if you donât ask, you canât know.
And, for what last night seems to show, when someone doesnât know what the other plans to do, it brings about scenes where one party attacks the other at midnight and the early hours of the morning for most people, surprises the other party and ravages their plans so the instigating one can fulfill theirs, and leaves an awkward, jarring feeling in the victim group. People donât need permission to roleplay, but general communication for large events might fuel more exciting, fun interactions for all individuals involved.
wish i could have yelled insults at you last night rog but i was asleep =(
What happened exactly?
All out chaos in Thundertotem. Thatâs the only way to discribe that mess of rp.
Well okay, but if somebody could give some sort of recap thatâd be great because right now it seems very strange and all-up-in-the-air for interpretation.
Seems like the Sylvanas loyalists surprise-ambushed the Frozen Paw in Thunder Totem from what I gathered.
Aye, a guy trying to have a good time then the stygian legion had to go and invade out of nowhere and ruin it.
So⌠march on Org when?
If the criteria is simply âWe have enough people so you have to do what we sayâ, after all. Itâs only fair then, right?
Absolutely to see people arguing about this already
Throwing that salt around the fries crazily
Salty? Maybe but itâs the truth
yea i hate those stygian guys. how dare they roleplay

The secret police found you out man
We got 'em.
Last nightâs events that took part were most disappointing Iâm sorry to say. Neither me nor my guildies enjoyed a single moment of that RP and what started off as a wonderful and fun evening ended with leaving a seriously bad taste in our mouth.
Iâm grateful that the Stygians at least realized their mistake and apologized so kudos to that. But the Highmountain RP week was sadly cut off due to IC reasons which is a terrible shame and a wasted potential.
Just my two cents.
IC actions have IC consequences.
I should know, as the guy who turned (apparently) the xroads into chernobyl with 1 blight grenade.
This event was solely sparked on by the IC actions of Rogmasha & the Frozen Paw spanning all the way from the northrend campaign, including the murder of some grunt(s).
Here you go. This is the IC context:
Only if you assume the Hand of Conquest has actual authority to declare people traitors, which considering they seem to be army, guard guild and justice making guild seems a dubious assumption at best.
Donât worry Executor Morsteth said itâs okay
