[H-RP] Keepers of Antiquity - Adventuring and Exploration Await!

The Keepers have set off for Northrend on the famed Goblin vessel, “The Unsinkable Mk 2”! Have no fear. The first Unsinkable did not, in fact, sink! It just went missing out at sea!

As The Keepers settled in for their journey, they went about a variety of things to pass the time. Food and drinks were shared in the cantina, cushions were arranged for people to lounge on… There were even chances to fish! It had everything needed for a relaxing journey.

A couple of hours in, Hughy and Isara decided to gather The Keepers to that they could share their goal for the Northrend Expedition. They were seeking a group of Vrykul who had a powerful relic that was capable of tearing souls from the living and binding them to their service - be it in weapons or other things!

All was not as smooth as they had hoped, however, as a sweet, soothing song floated across the ship and The Keepers soon found themselves nodding off.

With what was revealed to be some kind of shared dream, The Keepers realised that their real bodies were in danger as some of them began to show signs of immense pain! Several tactics were employed to try and dispel the dream. Causing explosions, attempts to call on magic, even swimming far from the boat… But it wasn’t until the group noticed that only one member of their little party seemed to be able to sustain injury.

After mercilessly murdering their companion in the dream, it did the trick - it wasn’t their companion at all but some kind of Siren creature that was feeding upon him and several of The Keepers found themselves serving as food for its offspawn!

Some cuts and slices later, however, and the threat had subsided… until the Captain of the vessel revealed The Keepers had brought the wooden crate that carried the beasts onto the ship themselves!

With fingers pointed and tensions high before the group even arrives in Northrend, the expedition has gotten off to a rocky start. Was someone within the group responsible for the mess of the Sirens? Or is there someone else plotting the downfall of the explorers?

Teamwork? Trust? Camaraderie? We hardly know them! At least not yet! Things are tense and the group is in need of unity if they are to survive the horrors that await them in the north!

Falling apart before we even get to the destination? I, uhm, ah… Not at all! We’re super stable and all that.

We’re in Northrend! Wahoo! It’s cold.

For the time being, The Keepers are stationed in Vegeance Landing! We have a few friends who have come along with us, so social RP is happening here and there. If you happen to be up in the Fjord, come spend time with us! We’re nice, I promise!

Our second expedition has gotten off to a big start tonight with stealth, combat and even some rock climbing… or rock falling, I guess!

Seeking a lead to guide their steps in the frozen lands of Northrend, The Keepers set their sights on the small village of Baleheim. Early scouting of the village soon proved that it would be too dangerous for The Keepers to head into the village as an entire unit and so, after discussing their options, a plan was formed.

Utilising Falyssra’s mastery of the arcane, the small group of Isara, Falyssra, Aendor and Kiera intended to infiltrate the village under the protection of an illusion spell. Meanwhile, to create a distraction, the Vulpera Janec would pose as a trader with the burly Cha’zan acting as his bodyguard! If things were to go south with the distraction, Kohawi, Lythidriel, Etzir and Hughy were on hand, ready to rush to their support!

…In true Vrykul fashion, it didn’t take long for things to escalate to violence. Janec and Cha’zan soon found themselves under attack and as the others came to their aid, a warning horn was blown, drawing many of the Vrykul to the gates of the village. While not the distraction they had hoped for, this did allow the Keepers who were infiltrating to sneak into the village and find out what they could!

A bloody battle followed, with the forces of the Vrykul facing off against some of The Keepers. Arrows were fired, fireflasks were thrown, acrobatics were performed and Vrykul were… well, beheaded, before The Keepers found themselves overwhelmed and needing to retreat.

With the woods now filled with Vrykul hunting parties, a slight detour was required in order to return to Vengeance Landing… Utilising earth magic, trees, literal faith and acceptance that they very well might die, several of The Keepers succeeded in scaling down the cliff face and meeting up with their allies.

Though a little hectic, their plans seem to have succeeded as The Keepers now have a name – Sjalafangar. Though it is unknown whether this is the name of the exiled Vrykul clan who are binding the souls of legendary heroes to weaponry, or whether this is the name of the dreamcatcher-like tool they utilise, The Keepers at least have something they can research and seek out.

Knowing that this ‘Sjalafangar’ appears to be targeting the souls of Vrykul heroes, The Keepers now seek contact with one to see if they can receive any guidance. Of course, communicating with a soul of the deceased often requires an offering… And what, exactly, will they decide to offer?

A brief update to our recruitment: We are currently remaining closed as we’re quite content with our numbers for the time being. Isara and I are contemplating when/if we may next open recruitment but we have always wished to remain on the smaller side to allow everyone to take part and feel included in events!

That said, we have a few friends of the guild who are ‘travelling’ with us and welcome more people to do so for the social RP. We also have a side quest system in place that people would be more than welcome to join when we’re doing them during our downtime RP! So if you fancy walking alongside us up north, do reach out!

Last night saw The Keepers team-up with Kaitylinn and Zethodia of the Dust Devils to face off against a true and horrific threat… an evil circus known as THE CARNEVIL!

The chilly evening air at Vengeance Landing saw some of The Keepers huddled outside the building they had opted to use as an ‘inn’. Kenzari, Falyssra, Kohawi, Kiera and Hughy were discussing the discovery of the name ‘Sjalafangar’ and debating their next steps in the pursuit of the exiled Vrykul and their relic when they were approached by a Dracthyr.

Learning that this Dracthyr was named Zethodia, The Keepers questioned what had brought her to Northrend when their evening suddenly took a hectic turn. With a Forsaken woman running past the group and yelling, they were scattered by a sudden explosion of magic. Believing themselves to be under attack, they scrambled together to witness a bizarrely colourfully dressed Forsaken atop a huge beast with a candy cane coloured tongue.

The rider demanded the beast to fetch the ‘Zombie Lady’ and it began hunting through the inn with its extendable tongue. With The Keepers and Zethodia nearby, however, the beast didn’t last long and it was slain, with the Forsaken woman who had run past them earlier emerging from the building and ending the rider with a well-aimed bullet.

The woman introduced herself as Kaitylinn and informed The Keepers and Zethodia that they had been recruited to save all of Northrend from being eaten by a giant skeletal beast being summoned by the evil circus known as ‘The Carnevil’. Zethodia assured the group that this sort of thing always followed Kaitylinn, or perhaps she always followed this sort of thing, while several of the group considered the possibility that they were once again trapped in a bizarre serpent-induced dream or hallucinating from poisoned food.

Still! On the off-chance that the continent-ending threat was true, The Keepers agreed to assist Kaitylinn with her endeavours and took off through a portal she created through her pocket portal pistol gun. The safest way to travel if you have no other alternative! The portal spat the group out in precarious positions, surrounded by lava and burning wood and before a giant shark jaw that was made of stone!

Antics ensued, with some of the group being swallowed into the shark’s maw and others fighting their way inside courtesy of Kohawi and Kiera’s stone shattering skills. Falyssra and Lythidriel found themselves part of a deadly circus act they didn’t agree to, precariously hanging above acidic goop, but with some convincing talk about insurance policies from Hughy, they were released and returned to their allies.

The group of heroes then found themselves in a room full of alluring carnival games. Whack-a-mole! Hook-a-Duck! Laser shooter! Spin the Wheel! While some of the group took part in the games, it quickly became apparent that the more they played on the carnival attractions, the more ghost-like they became… Just like the countless ghostly spirits they could see trapped around the appropriately named Carnevil! Meanwhile, Falyssra investigated further ahead but found herself polymorphed into a rabbit, separated from her allies!

With some time magic from their new ally Zethodia, the group were able to make it through the spinning circus tunnel complete with fire, buzzsaws, chains, nails, guillotines and more to make it to the ’main attraction’. The Ringmaster of the Carnevil, utilising the trapped spirits that made up the audience, had begun their summoning of the giant skeletal beast!

The heroes bravely charged the main stage and witnessed the Ringmaster shifting into a horrific spider-like creature – but they didn’t let that stop them! With Lythidriel’s blade, Kohawi’s lightning, Kenzari’s sun magic and a well-aimed hatchet throw from Kiera, both the Ringmaster and skeletal creature were subdued. The crowd began to turn on the Ringmaster and the cave began to collapse! Thankfully, with the Ringmaster’s defeat, Falyssra was returned to her Elven form and utilising her mastery over the arcane, she was able to teleport the group back to the safety of Vengeance Landing.

Announcing Northrend as saved, Kaitylinn thanked The Keepers for their aid in putting a stop to The Carnevil and went on her way, determined to continue her work of stopping evil, wherever it might strike!

As for The Keepers? They now find themselves safe and sound, back in Vengeance Landing, with some of their numbers still adamant it was all a dream…

A massive thank you to Kaitylinn for DMing this wild and wonderful adventure for us. Many laughs were had and the twists and turns of the event were a thrilling ride! We’re all looking forward to hopefully teaming up once again in the future.

For the time being, The Keepers now focus on deciding what sort of offering to acquire in order to speak to a Vrykul Hero’s soul, hoping to learn more about the name ‘Sjalafangar’! We’re still in Vengeance Landing for the time being so if you’re running around Northrend and wish to join us and the very sociable local Forsaken, do drop by!

A moment passed; a droplet of sweat trickled down the man’s forehead, reaching the tip of his cheeks before being hurriedly wiped away on a hastily produced handkerchief. He silently cursed his stupidity- he’d almost used a sleeve.

The handkerchief at least could be kept safely hidden, but a streak of sweat upon his finely pressed uniform would be a certain tell - a giveaway, among many, of the man’s rapidly unravelling nerves. Taking another second to compose himself; the sound of wood grinding against stone signalled immediately that his time was up. Parting before him, those ornate doors curved aside; revealing at last the room beyond.

Flanked by utter, abyssal darkness; only the faintest outline of an ornate, high backed chair at the very centre of the cavernous space, vaguely illuminated by a distant fireplace, signalled any form of life within. Flinching, the man muttered his last prayer for mercy, before marching forth; back straight, eyes forwards, trying his utmost to maintain composure. Only after two dozen paces did he stop; keeping a respectful distance from the seated figure.

“S-Supreme Lea-”

“An interesting bunch, these ‘Keepers of Antiquity’, no?”

Came the reply; he instantly froze, skipping a breath. Somehow…s-she knew. Someone had…no, of course she knew. She knew everything; she even -

“Knew exactly what you were thinking, yes”

A soft chuckle followed; it did nothing to ease his concerns.

“Please, do calm yourself; that rising blood pressure will do you no good in the long term”

The voice continued; its tone silken, almost alluring - yet shot through with an undertone of menace, akin to a wistful siren luring sailors to their demise…

“Besides, it’s not like our friends in the circus haven’t failed before, is it? And, I have every confidence they’ll fail again. But it matters not; for…what’s that I always say again? Our enemies have to win every time, but we?”

“W-we only have to w-win once, m-my lady”.

He replied; hoping the prompt interjection would allow the stuttering to go unnoticed.

“Only once indeed. Speaking of which; let’s make sure this little alliance between the cowgirl and these…relic hunters…is a one off also, shall we? An excursion of the sort not to be repeated. After all, I’d so dearly hate to see anyone overstay their welcome…”

Her low hiss more than confirmed the cue; the man bowed, even as another droplet of sweat rolled down his forehead. Promptly, he rose; almost giving himself whiplash with the speed; better that than sullying the floors. Quickly recovering, he paused only to give one final retort, before marching from the room - not daring to stop, until those great wooden doors had sealed shut, far behind him.

“Consider them dealt with, my lady-”.

Hello Keepers!

What a fantastic retelling of the event Hughy provided; I hope you don’t mind my addition of a post credits scene of sorts!

For real though; returning the favour of the post on my own thread, it was a pleasure to DM for you guys, and I can’t wait to quite literally, knowing Kaitylinn! drop in again sometime!

Trust me though; all the events depicted really took place - but that doesnt’ mean anyone will ever believe you!

Until we meet again-!

A kaity event hmm? I hope none got lost in the chaos. :innocent:
(Always loved your events even if it has been such a long time by now! And this time there was probably less purple involved. XD)

The Keepers have had a busy few days, with Sunday seeing them seek out an offering for a Vrykul hero soul and this evening saw them make their across the Howling Fjord, settling in their next home for a time… New Agamand. Or rather, just outside it since it’s filled with toxic waste.

The Keepers agreed, though the numbers were close, to seek out an offering from nature by heading north through the Fjord. Before long, they came across a Frozen Glade that was home to several Frost Nymphs who welcomed the adventurers with laughter and glee.

They were soon introduced to the self-proclaimed Frost Nymph Queen who, after administering several trials granted them a crown of enchanted ice - an offering fit for the noblest of souls!

The first of their trials was simple enough! The Keepers had to choose a gift to give to the Queen that spoke to them in someway. Many things were offered, ranging from flowers, stones, paper and even a Troll finger!

Then they were tasked with building… a snowman! The Queen chose her favourite three and, with her mastery of magic, granted them life!

For their third trial, The Keepers who weren’t among the living had to submerge themselves into her icy waters for a time. It was a chilling trial but they managed to persevere!

Finally, the fourth trial was a simple one. The Keepers had to have their strongest step forth. After some debate, the group decided on Isara Mournflame to step forwards… And though the Queen deemed it passed, she left The Keepers with a dark warning about their ally.

With their offering acquired, The Keepers then set off for New Agamand! The journey was calm and quiet until they came to a long bridge that passed over a huge chasm. With some of The Keepers suffering from a fear of heights, they tried to make their way across swiftly… Only to find themselves suddenly challenged by a Vrykul known as Gilgamjorn!

A large and boisterous Vrykul in colourful clothing of red, white and purple, he boasted a collection of weapons upon his person. He seemed pleased with The Keepers and wished to challenge them to battle in the name of honour - or he would let them pass should they grant him their weapons to add to his collection. The Keepers refused and so weapons were drawn… Only for Gilgamjorn to submit after a single cut to his leg! And just like that, he was gone!

…Only to strike again, a little further down the path. This time, a well-aimed stone rid The Keepers of the persistent pest and they drew closer to New Agamand once more.

Only for Gilgamjorn to strike yet again! Except this time, he did not do so alone. He called upon a raging hippogryph of emerald colouring that was much larger and swifter than those of the local kind. It even showed a dangerous amount of control over wind magic!

Facing off against the fierce Enkidurge, The Keepers powered through with only a few injuries. Now camped outside New Agamand, due to the state of the settlement not being the most welcoming, The Keepers rest and recuperate in preparation of reaching out to a Vrykul soul!

It’s been a busy few days for The Keepers as we’ve made our way along the Howling Fjord! We’re now camped outside NEW AGAMAND because eesh, that town is -gross-.

Tensions are running high between some of the group, with some of the number far more eager to strike down anything that gets in their way while others wish for a more peaceful approach… It seems many more trials will greet the group in their hunt for the Sjalafangar!

An evening of sadness as The Keepers spent their time trying to save some drake eggs and finding that they were too late… But not all is sad as they draw closer to acquiring the Sjalafangar at last!

Opting to seek out the Vrykul soul of Dalga the Dragon Tamer, The Keepers headed north from New Agamand in search of her grave. Finding that Dalga was buried near the ever-burning Ember Clutch, Aendor Dawnburst offered forward the Frost Nymph’s crown to the grave and succeeded in granting the group an audience with the Vrykul’s soul.

Claiming she was aware of the Sjalafangar and the threat it poses, Dalga agreed to aid The Keepers in their search though asked if she could burden them with a request first. Revealing that she believed a drake to have died protecting its eggs, she asked The Keepers to bring the eggs to her grave so that her kin could take them and care for the creatures within.

Agreeing to her request, The Keepers soon found the site of the battle between the mother drake and a large treant that still burned with dragon flames, despite being dead for some time. The eggs, however, were all damaged. Cracked and beaten, it was uncertain whether the creatures within were alive. Kenzari, calling upon the healing power of An’she, attempted to aid the eggs and heal them… But it wasn’t meant to be. Upon returning to Dalga’s grave, the Vrykul revealed that the younglings had passed on, never to know the joy of life.

Banishing Isara from her grave for the crime of taking the fallen drake’s blood, Dalga asked the remaining Keepers if they would do her one more favour. Emerging from the grave came the souls of the passed on whelplings, each moving towards a Keeper. The Vrykul soul tasked the adventurers with showing the whelplings a momentary glimpse of the joys of life’s warmth. Some played with their ghostly companion. Others cuddled. Some listened to music. Others created magical sparks for their whelpling to chase…

With the Fjord echoing with the cheerful chirps of the ghostly whelplings, Dalga called them back to her grave where they vanished from sight, to be taken into her care in the beyond. In exchange, she told the group of ‘Spiritseeker Fatehorn’, a Taunka from Camp Winterhoof who was also researching the Sjalafangar and who may be able to help them in their quest.

Thanking the spirit for her aid, The Keepers moved on immediately, making their way to Camp Winterhoof. Alas, Fatehorn was out on a hunting trip with others of the Camp, leaving the group to setup camp and await his return… Despite being so close to their goal!

The Keepers are now camped out at Camp Winterhoof in Howling Fjord! Yay, hot springs!

This upcoming Saturday sees us bring in our mid-expedition finale! It promises to be eventful. Will The Keepers finally get their hands on the relic they have been seeking all this time?

Next week also sees us moving to Nagrand to take part in the Kosh’harg festivities! We are very excited to get stuck in, take part and make some new friends during the weeklong festival! I’m sure it’s going to serve perfectly as a nice change of pace from our Northrend escapades. The perfect breather in the middle of our expedition!

Hopefully we’ll see you all there, too! It’s going to be great!

A narrow escape and a mournful farewell for The Keepers this evening…

Thrust into a battle between the Taunka and Vrykul, The Keepers found themselves face to face with the Sjalafangar and their old foe, Gilgamjorn. Despite him drawing power from the relic they managed to best the Vrykul! Though he surrendered, he was ruthlessly cut down by another, much to Janec’s dismay as he tried to mend the man’s wounds.

Revealed as the traitor to the Vrykul people and the true fiend behind the use of the Sjalanfangar, Hajtvald The Cruel made his presence known.

The Keepers found themselves succumbing to the power of the Sjalafangar and almost lost their souls to the relic… But thanks to the aid they had shown the souls of whelplings in evenings before, they had allies to come to their aid.

With a narrow escape from the relic and surviving the horrors within, The Keepers find themselves no closer to reaching their goal as it vanished along with Hajtvald.

Now under orders to rest while Spiritseeker Fatehorn finds a way to strengthen their scarred and marked souls, Hughy thinks the best place to take some time to relax is the Kosh’harg festival in Nagrand…

Thankfully, with Magi within their ranks, they can leave their supplies at Winterhoof and teleport to Orgrimmar. From there? Shattrath and Nagrand await!

Our mid-expedition finale saw us face the horrifying Amalgamation of Souls within the Sjalafangar itself! Then we wrapped up the evening with a funeral pyre for the brave Gilgamjorn… Gone but not forgotten, an honourable yet misunderstood Vrykul to the end.

Now we set our sights for Garadar and The Kosh’harg festival. We’re really excited to see everyone there! Even if I can’t attend the Monday myself, sob. It promises to be a great week!

The Keepers of Antiquity are currently located at Garadar in Nagrand (Outland)! We are currently having a great time taking part in and enjoying the festivities of the Kosh’harg. We’ve had a lot of fun watching the worg rodeo, pole climbing and cheering on one of our own during the Archery contest!

We’ll be here for the entire week, too! If you see us around, do say hello and dive into RP with us. Apologies for any Goblin shenanigans from a few of our members! Myself included.

With the Kosh’harg coming to a close, the Keepers will soon return to the freezing wilds of Northrend in their pursuit of the Sjalafangar. The week has proven to be a great chance to unwind, socialise, see old faces and meet new ones for a lot of the members. Just what was needed after their harrowing encounter with the relic itself!

I am happy to announce that we are once more open for recruitment with a few caveats in place! We are only looking for a few additional members, however, so it will be a short recruitment period!

1: We are no longer recruiting Blood Elves or Nightborne for the time being. We have quite a few of both races in our active ranks and any more will see us rename to Elves of Antiquity!

2: We are looking for active characters that are available for downtime and social RP. Being a guild that spends a lot of its time away from the main hubs, we have to rely on each other for our RP fix outside of events. We love people attending our two events per week, absolutely! But we’re eager for someone who will also be up for RPing around the campfire, taking on a side quest and helping to drum up some RP on our non-event nights.

If you’re interested in signing up with the Keepers of Antiquity, please reach out to me on Hughy and we can have a chat and look to set something up. Otherwise, feel free to come bother us! We’ll be in Garadar for the final night of the Kosh’harg, so come say hello!

The Keepers have dived straight back into things with their return to Northrend! This evening saw them move from Camp Winterhoof down to the Tuskarr village of Kama’gua.

They met with the Spiritseeker Fatehorn and his Tuskarr ally, Tarnukk! Tarnukk offered them aid with their marked soul and Sjalafangar issue, which saw the adventurers dodging and weaving through lingering souls, carving wood from soul-touched trees, blessing their carvings with the wisdom of Oacha’noa and finally craft their carvings into a trinket/charm that best represents them!

Apparently, with all of the above, these trinkets and charms will serve as shields to protect their souls from the menacing Sjalafangar and its soul stealing ways…

Now they are spending a couple of nights at the Tuskarr village of Kama’gua before whispers and rumours see them pulled towards the other Tuskarr village of Mo’aki on Saturday. So many Tuskarr villages!

A few updates today! First off, a big welcome to our newest members: Scythois, Amaranthene, Ithedris (a returnee, even!) and Koralash! It’s great to have you all with us!

With an influx of new (and old) faces, this does mean we will be closing our doors for the time being once more. Just to explain the reasoning for this, as a newer DM I’m conscious of keeping events going at a decent pace and including all the attendees and, due to my own capabilities, I worry growing too large will mean I would fail on one or both of those angles. With more practice DMing, I am hopeful we will be able to open our doors again in the near future!

As for our current story update:

The cold evening air saw The Keepers enjoying their time at the Tuskarr village of Kama’gua and getting to meet some new faces. Introductions were cut short, however, as wounded Tuskarr began piling in from the pier, carried over from Mo’aki Harbour by the giant turtle known as ‘Green Island’.

The Keepers, after discovering that Mo’aki was under siege by Wolvar, Scourge and ‘Living Weapons’, leapt into action and boarded the turtle that was heading back to retrieve more refugees.

As they reached Mo’aki Harbor, they saw many of the Tuskarr had fallen to the attacks, yet the bravest of their people still stood strong and held the front line. The Keepers moved to reinforce the Tuskarr when they heard the familiar, ear-piercing scream of the relic, far to the north.

With the Tuskarr reaffirming that they would not let their village fall, The Keepers pushed forward to the north, cutting down Sjalafangar corrupted skeletons and even a Gigantaur before finally coming face to face with Hajtvald and the relic.

With the combined efforts of Amaranthene, Felodri and Koralash, The Keepers succeeded in dismounting Hajtvald from his drake. Despite a rocky start that saw Isara hurled against the impressively large bones of a dragon corpse, The Keepers held their own against the Vrykul and his cursed relic.

Utilising the blessed trinkets they had worked on in Kama’gua, The Keepers were able to prevent the Sjalafangar from utilising its magic against them. That didn’t stop Hajtvald summoning forth the souls of familiar allies in an effort to best The Keepers with their might and with despair.

Yet the adventurers stood strong, continuing their battle and slaying Hajtvald. Though the Vrykul’s drake escaped with the battered and broken body of its master, the Sjalafangar was left behind and The Keepers opted to destroy the relic after freeing the few souls that hadn’t been trapped in the amalgamation within.

Now that their quest to destroy Sjalafangar was finally over, The Keepers returned to Mo’aki Harbour where they remain, assisting the Tuskarr with rebuilding and repairing their home. With the voice of Hajtvald whispering to them despite his defeat, one thing remains clear…

The Sjalafangar may be destroyed but Hajtvald perseveres in some way or another. The Keepers now face a choice. With their quest complete, will they return home to Orgrimmar and leave the Vrykul to his ways? Or will they opt to end the threat he poses once and for all and hunt him down?

A much earlier end to the Sjalafangar than originally planned but we live for character choices throwing wrenches into things here! For the time being we’re in Mo’aki Harbour until a decision is made. Are we running home with our quest complete? Or are we going to try and be wanna-be heroes!? Exciting things await, either way!

The hallmark of a great adventure, player led disasters. Not many guilds let their playerbase guide the narratives inside the group these days sadly. Good to see you’re holding an old torch strong.

It’s something we love to do here! Even if it does leave me scrambling up a third arc to the adventure in two days. Ahem! But I digress!

Things continue going sort-of-okay-but-also-bad for our adventures up in Northrend, with The Keepers succeeding in finding some idea of where to search for Hajtvald… But at the cost of one of their own!

The Keepers, finding themselves in agreement about remaining in Northrend to deal with the issue of Hajtvald, appeared to be at a dead end. With Hajtvald’s drake fleeing to the east, the group had no clue as to where the creature had escaped to, along with its master’s corpse.

Luckily, Hughy had been introduced to an amazing concotion of the Tuskarr - Dreambloom Tea! From the Goblin’s explanation, it appeared that those who drank the tea fall into a deep slumber and are taken on a spiritual journey to see what they seek! With that information in mind, he managed to convince several of The Keepers to set off into the wilds of Dragonblight, towards the Emerald Dragonshrine to find the flower they would need to brew the tea.

With the aid of Janec, Isara, Velyndra, Cha’zan, Kiera, Scythois, Amaranthene, Aendor and Ithedris, the group spread out to search for the flower that had been described to them. After some trouble with thorny plants, angered birds, a vicious crab and a stink-spewing spore, The Keepers succeeded in retrieving three flowers, enough to concoct a batch of Dreambloom Tea.

Then came the fun! Or what was supposed to be fun, at least. With Janec’s alchemical expertise, the flowers were ground down into dust and brewed into a strong tea. Ithedris, Velyndra, Amaranthene and Cha’zan volunteered to drink the brew and succumb to slumber, with the rest of the group standing watch.

It didn’t take long for sleep to overwhelm the four where they were pulled into a deep slumber and, almost immediately, the wilds of Dragonblight seemed to take anger with what they were attempting. Raging winds and furious blizzards struck at The Keepers and their sleeping allies, as if the world itself was trying to force them awake, to prevent them from finding the location of Hajtvald in their spiritual dream.

With some quick thinking, those who were awake quickly moved to aid their sleeping companions. Pulling them into cover in an effort to protect them from the elements, The Keepers scrambled to find a way to get their sleeping friends back to the safety of Mo’aki…

Alas. Their goal would not be achieved, as Amaranthene suddenly awoke from the dream. Shortly after, Ithedris and Velyndra both awoke, too! The three found themselves suffering from a fever and a rather tumultuous stomach, struggling to keep everything down! And though they had seen some things that might prove promising into finding Hajtvald, it quickly became apparent that it all came at a cost.

Cha’zan didn’t awake. Seconds turned to minutes and, after some clever use of Amaranthene’s levitation magic aiding in returning Cha’zan to Mo’aki harbour, minutes turned to hours. It seemed that their friend and ally was trapped in a tormented, deep slumber, only mumbling the familiar words that Hajtvald once said himself. “One by one…”

Now The Keepers seek a way to wake their friend from his magic-induced slumber, lest he finds himself dreaming an eternal dream! But which path will they take in trying to assist their friend? Asking the aid of the village’s Tuskarr? Or seeking out the aid of the Furbolgs to the east?

From our guild voting system, it looks like we will be seeking out the aid of the Furbolgs in Grizzly Hills! Let’s hope that they can help wake up our poor Zandalari friend… I’m sure his slumber is peaceful in the mean time, right?

Desperate to find a way to wake Cha’zan from his eternal slumber, the Keepers looked to move east in an effort to secure the aid of others. With a belief that the Furbolgs of the land might be able to aid the Zandalari with some of their connections to magical dreams, the group set off to the east, with Cha’zan having been pulled ahead on a cart by some Tuskarr looking to trade supplies.

Their journey was, for the most part, unhindered until they reached the outskirts of Dragonblight. There, once more, they found themselves at the mercy of an unnatural blizzard and battering winds, assaulting them from all directions. If that wasn’t bad enough, the familiar voice of Hajtvald was carried on the wind, repeating his signature line and echoing a very phlegm-filled cackle. “One by one…”

The Keepers soon found themselves being assaulted by mindless undead, coming from all angles - even beneath the very ground they stood upon! Ghoulish claws and skeletal limbs swiped and grabbed at the group, with Scythois and Kiera finding themselves almost dragged down into the ground.

They managed to break free, only to then find themselves being pulled away from the group! The ghoulish fiends seemed to be trying to split the group apart, with Aendor, Velyndra, Janec, Kiera and Scythois all being dragged off into the snow!

They wouldn’t go quietly, however, and they managed to scrap themselves free and make it back to the rest of the group who were doing their best to hold back the encroaching undead horde. Isara relied on both her runeblade and mastery over dark magic, while Amaranthene chose to banish the undead with illuminating light! Kulkaske fought back by mimicking the Nightborne’s power (and using a rather large ghoul as a shield…) while Iffy demonstrated his skills with his blades, dancing through the oncoming corpses like some kind of shadowy spectre.

Alas, even with the group fighting for their lives, they soon found themselves becoming overwhelmed. Several of the Keepers were pinned beneath the hungry undead and the army seemed unending… Until Velyndra came up with a plan! Shouting for her allies to flee and that she would meet them at Conquest Hold, the Blood Elf channelled an impressive amount of arcane energy before unleashing it upon herself and the undead, teleporting the creatures away with her.

The Keepers took their chance to gather their wounded and flee, with the Grizzly Hills providing them some refuge and relief. The undead didn’t seem to be following them this far, though they heard that cackle one last time and those words repeat yet again. “One by one…”

Finally making it to Conquest Hold, the group were reunited with the slumbering Cha’zan who still remained trapped in his tea-induced dreams. Alas, Velyndra was nowhere to be seen…

Now finding themselves missing their large protector and one of their talented mages, The Keepers do indeed seem to be falling one by one… How many more will Hajtvald seek to take from them?

Another one bites the dust… The Keepers are dropping like flies! Was staying in Northrend really the right move? Who knows!? For now, they seek to find a way to stir Cha’zan from his slumber. They’ll need him for the battle that is to come, I’m sure!

The Keepers have been busy spending their time in Conquest Hold and the Grizzly Hills, alongside The Frostsworn Accord!

A shorter update today but antics have ensued with the group managing to awaken their ally Cha’zan but… not without some side effects, it would seem! Perhaps that’s what the group gets for relying on void magic to probe into a sleeping man’s mind? Oh well, details!

Meanwhile, during the Keepers’ void-induced trip into the Zandalari’s head, The Frostsworn Accord (who had accompanied the Keepers part of their way) had a fateful encounter with an undead drake… A drake that sounded very similar to the one the Keepers encountered previously! They succeeded in injuring the beast and saw it fly to the tallest peak of the Fjord to the south, giving the Keepers their next destination. If that is where the creature fled to, then perhaps its master makes his home there, too?

Several of the group also teamed up with a Kaldorei woman in dealing with some odd, purple flowers outside the Hold that had the bizarre effect of spreading death and decay! Though the cause is uncertain, some can’t help but think it might be from Hajtvald and his drake fleeing east and through the land…

Now, the expedition nears its end! Seeking out something to aid them in their upcoming battle, the Keepers turn their sights to the Taunka at Camp Oneqwah and their tales of the land. It sounds like there might be something in the Troll ruins nearby that could help the Keepers turn the tide of their inevitable fight. It all comes to a head soon enough!
