[H-RP] The Dust Scavengers - Vulpera Caravan 🦊

We are Vulpera. We are the children of sands

We thrive where others die, we endure when others bend the back.

Where you see ruin ,we see treasure. Where you see hardship, we see adventure.

Every day is a trial, and every trial made us stronger.

But no trial must be faced alone, this is yet another lesson the sands have taught our people.

In this new world beyond the sands, a caravan is a home far from the dunes.

We are the Dust Scavengers. We are Vulpera

A new adventure, a new family.

You are our kin. You are Vulpera.

Summary

We are the Dust Scavengers, one of the oldest Vulpera caravans of Argent Dawn, allies of the Horde and an independent community of like-minded Vulperas. Our caravan travels all over Azeroth and beyond, in search of adventures, new treasures, and fruitful trades ; all the avenues for any good Vulpera to excel into !

But do not be mistaken, we are more than a mere caravan of traders and explorers. Azeroth may be full of dangers, but so was Vol’dun and our people have learned to defend themselves against such threats

We’re always open for new tails willing to join our ranks and contribute.

~-~-~-~-~-~-~

For whom do we look ?

We are open as much to new roleplayers as we area to veterans.

For IC reasons, only Vulperas are accepted within the ranks of our caravan.

Our requirements for new members are quite simple, we only need you to be active within the community, motivated, voluntary in the RP you offer, and respectful of basic RP etiquette.

While the true recruitment is done exclusively IC, and you can just meet us directly at the turn of some RP, you can also contact us beforehand to set a meeting. Either in-game through whispers and mail, or through Discord (Handles are present on our AA page)

The recruiting officers are Oari, Xanoxis, Niko, Kheenah, Kuzò, and Senokä

What do we do ?

The caravan travels around the entirety of Azeroth, setting camp in areas on a regular basis to explore the surroundings, gather knowledge about the vicinity, and harvest ressources to trade. While this makes the bulk of the guild less present in city hubs, the caravan has settled outposts in great spots of passage, in which they store and trade their latest goods, brought in through the prowess of their mages.

Expect us to be present particularly in Orgrimmar and Dalaran, and do not hesitate to take contracts from us for goods you cannot obtain yourself !

For those who prefer to remain in the field, our activity alternates between events of scavenging and exploration, which can also regularly be made as spontaneous adventures by any members, and familial relaxing by the campfire.

We Vulperas might be hardworkers, but even the busiest fox needs a rest once in a while !

FAQ

1. What are the requirements to join the guild ?

You must be a Vulpera as the caravan accepts no other race. You must also be an active roleplayer - while the guild participates in the other activities of the game, our main focus is roleplaying. No need to be worried if you are a beginner, we accept as much the new guys as experienced roleplayers.

2. Does the caravan have a home base ?

As a traveling caravan, our people do not have a set home, we settle our camps wherever we travel in the world. Still, the caravan has established outposts, or plans to do so, in the major cities of Azeroth, offering a place to stay.

3. What is the hierarchy within the caravan ?

The caravan is led by a single Vulpera, supported by a council of Silverfangs. The rest of the members are then split in different roles of their choosing, all holding the same authority. Last but not least are the Softpaws, new arrivals to the caravan waiting to prove themselves

4. When are your usual activity times ?

We are active all week long, most ofen during the evening rounds after 7-8pm, though it is not a definite time. You can regularly expect to see members online at any time of the day.

5. Are you part of the PCU ?

We do not align with the PCU and their rules, as we value our independence. Nonetheless, in the spirit of keeping the community of Argent Dawn united and roleplaying together, we keep a neutral if not positive relationship with the guilds of this coalition.

6. How close to the Lore does the guild stick ?

We try to remain as close as possible to the Lore provided by Blizzard, and ask your TRP to reflect accurate information. Still, due to Vulpera Lore being scarce and in the spirit of creativity, we accept a tiny amount of stretching and headcanon.

In doubt, do not hesitate asking for guidance.

7. What are your rules on displays of affection ?

Showing affection in many ways is a normal part of roleplaying a character’s life, thus they are not forbidden. We only ask they reflect the PG-12 rating of the game, anything else ONLY belongs in private messages.

8. What is your stance on child/kit RP ?

We forbid the active playing of child characters, though we allow them to be represented as NPCs by the parent characters during their RP. Any played character must be AT LEAST a teenager, preferably a young adult, without use of numerical values.

9. Do you have rules about appearance ?

When choosing the appearance of your character, remain as close as possible to what you can expect of Vulpera culture - transmogs, mounts, pets, etc…

Still, we are an adaptive race and you can reflect this. Just do not go overboard !

With the first part of their outlandish journey duly explored and scavenged, the Dust Scavengers have parted way with the Horde and the outpost of Thrallmar they had been helping until now .

Now having entered the even more alien Zangarmarsh, new problems arose in the bluish swamp… but also new allies for the Vulpera caravan to make ! After a fateful encounter with the resident sporelings, the Scavengers have showed themselves as uneasy helpers of the fungal people and set camp near their home of Sporeggar.
Only time will tell if that relationship will improve.

Wishing Merry Winter Weil to Argent Dawn community!

We’re still recruiting, and are active even in the “drought” of content that WoW currently has.

I know it might look like self-advertising, coming from officer, but Dust Scavengers are lovely rp family, and I recommend them to everyone. I was very naive and big novice in RP not so long ago, but this guild was nothing but welcoming and helpful. They were a big part of me in these rough times with Covid around and all the issues of the world, always keeping my spirit up. Give them a try, if you see any of those fluffy Vulperas around! Guilds like The Dust Scavengers are keeping WoW alive.

Another month, another thorough exploration, another facet of Outland documented by the intrepid Scavengers !

After good deliberations on their next course of action, the vulpera caravan has packed up and set its course for the lush expanses of Nagrand - What could be better to catch some rest from the gloom of the swamp they had just explored ?
Having approached the elders of the village of Garadar, guided by a representative of the 2nd Thrallmar Legion they did not expect to find here, their new camp on the outskirts proves a pleasant and restful view for the foreseeable future !

But beware the beauty of the land, for many treacherous dangers should be expected from the wilds of Nagrand. The most insidious of them all… being the creeping idleness of a quaint lakeside stay.

How valuable a repose is will be measured by the effort that was put into deserving this restful moment amidst the turbulent tides of life. And after their relaxing, but nonetheless fruitful in exploration, stay in the verdant plains of Nagrand, it is time for the Dust Scavengers to take the road again to scour the dying Outland.

Faced with a choice between North and East, the caravan has made the call to reach for the desiccated mountains of Blade’s Edge, an arid climate theyare better prepared than most to survive. And this time, they shall face it as true children of the sands, without an ease that has turned too many Vulperas and their caravans soft and weak.
Having made their camp on the outskirts of a village populated by the tribe of the Mok’nathal, it is from the inhospitable wilds that they cobble their plans to explore the entire region before they are taken to their next stop.

What to find amidst the jagged peaks ? Who can truly say. But the Dust Scavengers will not leave until they have sifted through every crevice and mapped every nook !

A simple upping post to prevent it from closing !

The Dust Scavengers are still well-alive and camping through Outland ! Some of our people have decided to do weird stuff with Life magic and now we got wagons to repair because vines decided to give them a wallop, what a drag to be stuck in Blade’s Edge of all places !

But thanks to our mages, we are not out of reach ! You may find us (nearly) every Tuesday at the Dalaran Market, and we’re also taking part in multiple server campaigns whenever we can ! The most prominent of recent times would be the wacky adventures of our most beloved Pastor Kaitylinn throughout the Mana War ! Go take a look at their post too, it’s all worth it !

And if you’re a Vulpera in need of a home, don’t hesitate to meet us in our outposts of Dalaran or Orgrimmar after shooting us a nice letter (or a DM, whichever tickles your fancy) through the glory of magical mail !

Surprising as it may sound from their upbringing within the Dunes, it is with great sighs of relief that the Dust Scavengers have finally moved on from the mountains of Blade’s Edge ; A stay that dragged overlong by the idleness of a place and a badly set camp beset by giant worms, yet the will to not leave any corner of Outland unturned that made their explorations take a slower pace.

But now, the caravan has finally moved towards the next step of their exploration of the dying world. Thanks to a deal with the Ethereals of the Consortium, they have been granted passage into the Netherstorm and shelter within one of their Eco-Domes to avoid camping through the desolation of the incessant Arcane storms.

Of course, this deal does not come without demands from the exiles of K’aresh, and it seems the Scavengers’ explorations will be intimately laced with the demands of their shrewd business partners !
