🍸 [DISBANDED] The Family and Companies: Closed for Business! - Criminal Guild

Thank you for all your support over these past few years. I am sorry to say, but we are now disbanded. For a full story on this, please look to our post below this text. Thank you for being our customers, our friends, and our supporters.

Don’t remember us for being over, but for the stories we created with you all.

  • The official post:

Two years, still going strong!

Currently, we are actively recruiting! You’ll need to make an application on our Enjin page below, and we’ll get back to you on there.

Please keep in mind the fact that we are a crime Guild or even called ‘The Family’ is not public knowledge, and only accessible through the relevant channels undertaken. Please message an Officer or the GM for more information on this and how to access this knowledge. Publicly: we are a shop and bar!

However, your character is welcome to be aware that the Kindred Spirits is a cocktail bar that caters to shadier folk. So they may be entranced to apply for work there… and then see where that leads them! Or, they can find us at our shop in Orgrimmar, under the same premise.

We host monthly Market Nights, where you can find us and join in with the community! Information here:

Our rules can be found here, both IC, and OOC:

Created from an initial break from the Sixty Thieves by Chiel and Kaziik Nightweaver and a few other characters, The Family are a mafia styled guild that seeks to bring well run and thought out criminal RP to those within the Argent Dawn community. Despite the initial formation from some Sixty Thieves members, we try to provide our own unique experience to our guildies. With our own campaigns and events of a criminal nature, as well as letting those who need to hire criminals but do not want to get their hands dirty involve themselves in our own plots, we hope to bring enjoyable RP to all who encounter us. Not only that, but we run a Bar Night once a month that any and all in the community can come along to and enjoy themselves at, socialising with our members without the need to get involved in the criminal work.

We are a criminal guild with companies as its front, every character with us is meant to be antagonistic in nature. If you do not like this type of RP, please, do not interact with us!

The bar is at an unnamed building OOC in Bilgewater Harbor, Azshara. You’ll find the innkeepers Mixi and Grimy Greasefingers there, and it has a mailbox outside.

As for the shop, the building we’ve adopted is, again, unnamed - but with no NPC’s. You’ll find it in the Valley of Honor, just opposite the stables and on the path running to the Azshara gates. It’s right of the Brawl’gar Arena if you’re exiting the arena directly.

Our GM is ChĂel, with our Officers being Salmonpowder and Jekle. You can contact us in game through those usernames.

The Kindred Spirits bar

The Kindred Spirits bar, OUTSIDE: With a faded sign of jet black, white, and blue, the tavern building itself is relatively unremarkable, a simple cage being outside and unlocked for public animals storage. Around the back of the bar is a mortarcycle, usually. The front mailbox has a light blessed name carved into it, the name, ‘Deoiridh’.

SECURITY: The security seems to be a combination and key lock on the front door, an anti scry over the building - making the doorframes burn hot when touched, an anti fire ward around the building (but not the furniture) on visible etched runes to the bars pillars, and fel spell absorbing crystals. The door itself is a black steel security door, with multi point locks and bolts and a peephole. There’s three of the said crystals downstairs, two upstairs, and three more on the opposite side of the bar, where the office resides. (Planning something nefarious? Ask our core, and we can tell you far more about our security than is in this humble post!)

INSIDE: When stepping inside the bar, there’s a tinkle of wind chimes to signal your arrival. With a variety of tables, small, medium, and large, candelabras on all, and a matt black grand elven style piano, it’s clear a lot of effort and love has been put into furnishing the place. The majority of the furnishings are dwarven. Next to the piano is a tribal drum, a half set up drum kit, with a few other decorations are scattered around, such as a marble statue of a sin’dorei woman carrying a harp, along with a mural on the far back wall (can be found on our Argent Archives!). An enchanted broom sweeps, cleaning here.

THE BAR COUNTER: On the edge of the bar is a statue of a laughing monkey holding a mug, and an ashtray. Above the bar counter is a liquor license for ‘Bilgewater Harbor’. Flyers are stacked behind the bar, and there’s a set of stairs opposite the upstairs area leading to a wrought iron door for ‘The Office’, with a hatch behind the bar with an arcane lock leading to ‘The Cellar’.

UPSTAIRS: The same dwarven furnishings, tables and candelabras are upstairs, in the bar’s new section. Beneath the stairs of the bar is a door, leading to the bathrooms. Dreamcatchers line the walls, along with dartboards.
The Kindred Spirits. You’re here. Welcome home.

Blood and Water General Goods

The shop itself doesn’t look like anything special, at least, not from the outside. A regular shop in Orgrimmar, the sign ‘Blood and Water’ is outside, attached to the building. There’s a combination lock on the door. On the inside to the left as you would walk in is a noticeboard. Attached are a list of customer orders, along with a list of stock. There’s a hatch behind a reception area that’s locked, and a caravan, unused, is situated behind the shop. Further up the path to the Azshara gates is a warehouse, of which one can only assume stock is kept… In all three places, an enchanted brooms sweeps, making sure it’s kept clean even when nobody is home.

SECURITY: The shop shows the same door as the bar: a black steel security door, with multi point locks and bolts and a peephole.

The Risky Venture ship

The Risky Venture is a boat currently docked at Bilgewater Harbor. On the gate stopping people from entering is a combination lock. Up top are some tables, a bar, and a stage for a poker, drinks, and a performing band specifically. An enchanted broom can be seen here, sweeping away. The lower decks are sealed off to the public. Curiously, it rarely sees use, unless a customer specifies to play poker, or the Family are on a long haul journey by sea. It’s a gambling parlour turned cruise ship.

Want to use this place or hire it as a poker space? Get in touch!

IC Hierarchy

Ancestor (GM’s)
The Ancestors are the founders of The Family. They have an eye on all of the activities that go on, as well as maintaining the bar and ensuring that even the front is kept to standards. The current reigning Ancestor , Chiel, is responsible for general maintenance as well as sourcing crime jobs and holding meetings. The Ancestors are the most powerful of all within The Family and must ensure that strength and integrity are always maintained.
Mothers/Fathers (Officers)
Below the Ancestors are the Mothers and Fathers . They oversee The Family in the Ancestors place, and each Mother or Father has their own specialised job depending on what they work best as. As an example, someone at this rank who is particular in extortion may be declared the " Mother/Father Extorter", or another may go by " Mother/Father Spy" if they have a constant eye on the goings on around them. An Ancestor will declare their specialised role upon the promotion. They are the second highest level within the family. They should also be responsible for finding jobs for The Family, as well as ensuring profits/risks are kept at a careful, yet decent balance at all times. In certain cases, should an Ancestor die, they will be the first in line for replacement.
Brothers/Sisters (Veteran Members)
Below them are the Brothers and Sisters . Veteran members of the family who have proven themselves time and time again to be reliable, trustworthy, loyal, and teachers to the newer members should they need help. Minimal room for error is expected at this rank, as they are the highest attainable rank without overseeing The Family’s core. Brothers and Sisters are also the Strangers’ point of contact, primarily, as mentors, and to take in their concerns should they have any.
Cousins (Regular Members)
Next in line are Cousins . Cousins have proven themselves to follow the rules and customs, and have completed their initiation and have been welcomed to The Family in it’s entirety. They are the second lowest levels in The Family, but are by no means expendable.
Strangers (Trial Rank)
The hardest workers with yet to prove themselves are known as Strangers . Strangers are given the least amount of information within The Family of all its dealings, and are not allowed to attend meetings or have access to The Cellar, where the job board is located, amongst other underhanded work. Strangers mostly front the bar, and are expected to prove themselves through following the Rules and Customs set, as well as attending jobs and not making mistakes.
Aunts/Uncles (Outside of the Guild)
Lastly, our esteemed Aunts and Uncles. These are outsiders to the Guild who are our eyes and ears in the public places. They are the closest confidante’s of the Ancestor’s, their friends, their companions, and as trusted with the lives of The Family as any other within its internal workings. This is your way of being involved with our Guild’s workings without actually being in the Guild! It is not easy to get this rank: it involves a great deal of IC trust and hard work to attain it.
ALT/OOC is what it says on the tin. Those characters already within the guild’s alts or waiting to be recruited IC.

A 7’1" pandaren can be seen roaming Bilgewater Harbor’s streets, ponytailed with a beard and moustache, with no weaponry. He appears to be doing his daily shopping, with a satchel strapped to his belt. As he moves along the Harbor, he seems to be carrying some sacks of items, leaving behind these flyers in his wake for the Kindred Spirits bar, on walls, lampposts, and shop doors…

Open for business!

Yes, the Kindred Spirits bar is now open to customers and patrons of all kinds.

But where can we find you?

Good question, alternate me writing this post!
The guild operates at a building in Bilgewater Harbor. IC, you’d be looking for a building called ‘The Kindred Spirits’, at 03 Bilgewater Harbor, Azshara, Kalimdor. OOC, it’s the unnamed building that the innkeepers Mixi and Grimy Greasefingers are in, with the mailbox outside.

Does this mean you’re hiring?!

Not yet, alternate me asking yet another question. Unless one of our GMs has approached you personally asking you to make an application, you’ll still need to wait for us to post here in this thread when we open applications to the public. Sorry!

Thanks for letting me join! Can’t wait to do some events with you guys

We are now open to public applications!

If you’re interested in applying, check out our application form at https : //thefamiiy (.) enjin (.) com/forum/m/51583510/viewforum/9558492 and have a read. For questions, ask myself or Kaziik in game or on here!

A sign has appeared on the door of the bar, reading the following:

We are closed for business between the periods of the twenty fourth to the fifth. We’ll be travelling to the Uldum Nights - find us there for a drinking contest, samples, and of course: our cocktails!

On ‘milk cartons’ and strewn on bottles, images would go up for a goblin male, reading the following:

Missing: Kwaekle Ficklehead. Mister and Missus Ficklehead are enquiring as to any and all information regarding their sons location…

There are signs plastered all around Bilgewater Harbour as well.

Want to get involved? Give myself a message in game!

I love these hidden criminal guilds it’s so good to see someone who’s devious and not outwardly criminal it’s a pretty smart idea

The sign for business closure for the twenty fourth to the fifth has been removed. The Kindred Spirits appears to be open for business as usual once again!

We had a great time at uldum, but now we’re back in business back home! Looking forward to getting everybody drunk and taking their money.
…Now that i think about it, our job hasn’t changed much from back when we were openly criminal, has it?

We are no longer accepting applications for blood elves!

Please keep that in mind if making an application, as if you are applying on a blood elf, we will have to automatically decline the application no matter what the standard of it is. When we open again for blood elves, there will be an announcement on here!

Thank you for all the interest our little Guild has received so far!

A few nights ago, we had our first character death here. Sivalyr ‘The Sword’ Bloodfire took a grievous injury through one of our events, ‘A Warlock’s Demise’. With a title like that, it’s unsurprising!

The hardy group tried their best to keep him alive. Serana ‘The Hag’ Shademire, Frank ‘Tiger Milk’ Willburr, and Grace ‘Demon Jester’ Foole all did their best, but all their efforts proved futile.

In the scuffle, not only did the daring group fail to clean up evidence, but they botched the job, and Sivalyr suffered for it. Nonetheless, this has created a rather dramatic, heartbreaking story.

With a few more twists to be had, it might be that the disastrous events of that night prove to be more than The Family can handle. We’ll just have to wait and see!

A great thank you to everyone that participated in that event, including Sivalyr who took an amazing character death which has created some brilliant story. Other thanks to Jagro ‘Feral’ Steelarm, Daksha ‘Battery’ Crackletusk and Zoh’fon ‘Venom’. You’re all super. (If I’ve missed anyone out who came along, as well, feel free to give me a shove)

With Sivalyr’s death, we are also now open to Blood Elves again!

Another death, another day, and The Family makes it out of some rather potentially disastrous circumstances - and into the flames of another. At the threat of betrayal, Zroka ‘De Barracuda’ was wiped off the face of Azeroth, dead at the hands of The Family through one of their schemes.

This could not have been done alone, of course. After a meeting on a beach, the group had prepared a cluster bomb of a noxious gas, which only ended up backfiring. Daksha ‘Battery’ Crackletusk and Kaziik ‘Purple Lotus’ Stringweaver were responsible for the terrifying device, yet they had assistance from Zaron ‘Bloodthistle’ Crimsonshade for the enchantment on it.

Others heeded the call of aid through The Family. When disaster let out, Idyth ‘Epitaph’ Tal’eth misdirected a group of wayward pandaren adventurers away from the clear murder, and Ilthanis ‘Wink’ of course summoned them there in the first place, helping with our groups injuries. Pygide ‘Dragonfly’ Nelevonde also did a remarkable job at clearing up the ensuing mess after the carnage.

Our thanks goes out to everyone who took part in the battle (if you could call it that) and the unknown pandaren alongside Fengluo Mountainpass who ended up joining in towards the end, providing some lighthearted entertainment in lieu of the gruesome circumstances. The biggest thanks to Zroka ‘De Barracuda’ herself for taking all blows thrown at her and being a great antagonist. Perhaps her plans will reach fruition!

Perhaps during an hour the Family is out or the tavern is closed for business something happens in the shady lights of Bilgewater Harbour.

When any of the members return to lock up, they’ll find a small sin’dorei statue made out of fine marbel standing inside the tavern at an arms length from the door. A single note lay beside it.

“For the Kindered Spirits, an elegant piece for a classy establishment. -Your admirer”

The statue smells faintly of expensive scotch. Nothing else inside seems to have been touched.

At some point, probably with a lot of confusion, the marble statue seems to have made it further into the tavern, moved near the stairs to The Office. Of course, the note has been removed.

Wheyyy! I’m finally high enough forum rank to add links to posts.

In celebration, here’s this.

We now have a music playlist up for the bar! Listen, and enjoy! If you have suggestions on what we can add to it, let an Officer know!

And…

A sign has gone up on the door of the Kindred Spirits bar, reading the following:

Temporarily closed from the 12th-15th for advertising around Kalimdor. See you when we return!

The sign has been removed. A bit late, perhaps, but it appears the bar is open for business once again!
