oh no you’re onto me monkas
You don’t need lootcouncil because every Classic boss has 2 mechanics at best. I unterstand lootcouncil in expansions that have hard raids where gear matters. No matter who gets an item in Classic your guild will still be able to oneshot every boss.
Your not gearing for Current content xD
its about giving the gear to those that deserve it.
I didn’t mean current content. Every guild with an average IQ of 75 will clear everything in Classic without problems.
Oh wait its Hanterbart, you guys probably need full BiS to clear BWL tbh.
you play gehennas?
“But you have heard of us” sails away in the Black Pearl
he prob some lavaheroes player, so used to $$ system
We use loot council with class leaders.
Originally we trialed having random members raid rolled into the loot distribution to begin with as we are a casual guild. But this caused more issues than anything, people are not knowledgeable about all classes and specs, as well as not knowing the value of some items for some classes over others, it also breeds favoritism or “follow the first vote”.
Each class leader knows what each person of their class’ gear has and what would be a good upgrade, then each class leader discusses with each other about priority for sought after items (mageblade, daggers, ony head etc)
We made sure to choose class leaders who are knowledgeable about their class and specs, are interested in gearing the guild AS A WHOLE rather than picking favorites. We have a big guild spreadsheet, each class leader has their own sheet and then we work together to decide who it would fit best, and also try to plan who to give things to if they would drop next raid.
We make sure new raiders have the same chance of getting loot as older members if their performance and conduct in guild has been positive.
We post loot logs (from RC Loot council) after every raid which shows all loot council votes, the previous gear the person had and any notes they may have added to their roll.
Basically, be transparent with your members, let them input their opinions into the way the loot is decided for their class, make sure the lines of communication is there between “leaders” and non leaders. Listen to your members if they have any qualms about the way loot was decided, it’s okay to make mistakes sometimes and normally if it’s addressed quickly and in an adult manner can be sorted easily.
The most important thing, make sure you have non-greedy loot council members, people who are interested as progressing as a team rather than fueling their own gearscore. I love my guild members and all that raid and appreciate their input on loot all the time, it’s important to work as a team!
(In WLK) our guild used a combination of EPGP and Loot Council.
People rolled, and LC decided who gets the loot. Usually those with the highest point value won, but not always. We used voice chat to sort it out, look at what we had and told the LC how much of an upgrade it would be.
There are some funny side effects of whatever you do.
I ran Ulduar with an i200 (healing) shield, then after ToC launch, I got an i226 from a farm run. This automatically rewarded the i232 shields to our shamans and other pallies, so it took until ICC for me to get an i245 shield again. I got an i264 shield during our first Cataclysm run through ICC.
Meanwhile, I had full i251-i277 tanking set for off-spec - we only had one warrior.
Always someone there to put you down.
He got server first, let him take the kudos. Jesus.
Not like he is saying he get a degree from Newcastle and not Oxford…
server first is irrelevent
I love it when people critic other poster’s guilds but hide their own guild tag.
Agree, it’s like claiming server first on an alt account.
I could post on my main but since the guild doesn’t exist anymore since Cata, it wouldn’t do you any good.
If he’s going to bring up something completely irrelevant that means literally nothing to strengthen his stance, I’m allowed to point out just how irrelevant it is.
While I disagree with a decent amount of his posts, it’s not really a secret who his main is.
Really ? I’d be curious.
Showofskill on gehennas
Never heard of him
You think that’s me ?
You are completely wrong - never played on Gehennas either.
