This is actually the most common WoW player profile nowadays. Why else do you think raidlogging and speedrunning exist? People don’t actually want to play games, they just want to brag to their peers that they do/did for social credit on facebook or whatever. This is what games going mainstream has done.
i actually dont go to any GDKP’s at all. i also dont see how they can ban a GDKP. raid leader owns all loot and Auctions all loot off to suit himself. about the same as a trade or buying off the AH. i dont necessarily agree with GDKP’s but i can see why their popular. ive waited until recently over 2 months for loot with a loot council. imagine waiting months for the like of deaths verdict and then a freshly dinged 80 with 4k GS gets it. i mean if were going down the route of banning gdkp’s lets also ban wowlogs and gearscore the amount of people i see with 90 plus logs and yet they die to pulling aggro is just ridiculous
agreed. ive seen so many not even log to do dailys and then get HC tokens from TOGC while many many othe5r have farmed relelntlessly for the badges and sidereal’s.
ICC is going to be a big wake up call for many because with tier you can just bypass 1 to get the other. gotta farm thoser badges to get the minimum ilvl and then and only then upgrade.
no there are not, ive been looking for 3 days for a SR hc 25 run.
lol? You’re trolling.
G2G is the meta now! We have lost! @Blizzard didnt do anything to stop it! G2G is the norm now! Even big streamers doing it. I see them open mailbox all the time “Thanks for using G2G, heres your 100000 gold” kek. Absolute no respect for you F****** goldbuyers out there no matter your parses you are a cancer to wow empowering these botters to ruin the fun for everyone else.
Idk, i’m on Gehennas aswell and there are plenty of SR/MS-OS pugs around.
There is absolutely! tanked 50/50 two weeks in a row now in a nice semi guild SR group on Gehennas! I just hate the RMT and botting! I miss the old days with no monofaction and active GMs!
You are completely delusional if you think people speedrun to “brag to their peers”. Literally no one outside the small circle that participates in it cares the slightest bit about your time. People speedrun because its the only way to have any sort of challenge in this game, the content simply is that laughably easy.
Do whatever you want. If I had to pug and I’d dislike GDKP I would just not join these. Same with M+ on retail - people complain about requirements players set. They just go here, cry a river and expect miracles. If you want less GDKP then go on - make your own raid to fight it back.
I raidlog for example. But that doesn’t mean the following:
I just like healing, playing with people I know, gearing my chars. Why should I log more? Achievements? Don’t like them. Alts? I don’t wanna spend more time in WoW, there are other activities. PvP? Can’t bother. I’m not collector so pets/mounts aren’t interesting to me.
I’d just quit if I didn’t enjoy the laughably easy content. I min-max enough in real life.
And there are people who chill in RL and they need some min-maxing in game. Both are OK.
And what does your personal preference have to do with anything? Some people enjoy slow casual walks, others want to run as fast as humanly possible. Big news.
Just expected adults to have more sensible priorities in life. But yeah, whatever floats their boat.
Yeah, imagine doing anything for fun as an adult. Big cringe if you dont spend 100% of your time on your job to earn 10 % more and be absultely miserable as soon as you turn 18. Not to mention, being done with 60 naxxramas in 1 hour and taking 30 minutes to get all worldbuffs was somehow less sociably acceptable than wasting 4 hours in some dadguild. Prime logic. I seriously hope you are just trying to bait and arent actually that stupid.
I’d agree that GDKP has almost taken over. SR and MS<OS runs do still exist but they are few and far between and don’t usually contain the most adept of players.
Unfortunately you just have to accept that GDKP is liked by a lot of people and is here to stay. If Blizz hasn’t done something by now they aren’t going to. I generally hated GDKP but it’s now so prevalent that it’s not worth complaining about it anymore. So if you can’t bet them, join them.
The only thing I hate about GDKPs at the moment is the ridiculous entry requirements. Basically if you haven’t already been doing GDKPs then you will unlikely have enough gold to join them, which means you’re forced down the route of purchasing gold to meet their budget entry requirements. The minimum bid on items may be 2k to 5k, but if you haven’t got 20k-25k to spend then sod off…
Also even as a buyer they’ll want you to have an almost bis geared toon. Which to me seems a bit counter productive as someone lower geared would surely spend more gold on all the stuff that just ends up disenchanted.
Would require serious moderation from GMs and considering the absolute bloody state of Classic WoW, that will never happen. GDKP is permanent.
They probably wont do this, GDKP is Blizzards golden goose with WoW tokens beeing a thing, but a simple solution to pretty much destroy GDKPs would be to introduce personal loot.
Say hello to 99% of every trade channel being “guild xyz boosting whatever the current raid is right now”. From what I’ve seen in retail back in bfa, this stuff is worse than any gdkp you can imagine.
Sooo passive aggressive hahah.
My job is easy. I play WoW on the job for the most part and it pays my house, two cars and keeps me well fed and able to travel multiple times a year. And I’m 31, not 18.
