So if I understand this correctly we will be running with 20 LW in a 25 man raid?
If it’s gonna be a BoP super rare recipe similar to raid enchanting recipes with only a few select people in a team being able to craft drums this could be fine.
If it’s BoE and even farmable this will be an absolute total disaster.
Hello?! Blizzard?! You here?! NO ONE LIKES THE “EVERYONE NEEDS LEATHERWORKING” META
Does this mean the cast time is still on the lesser version at the moment?
Will it feel mandatory in TBC Classic?
Probably not if the greater version is a rare drop and bop in ZA later on in TBCC, if the lesser will have the old cast timer on use and a smaller radius then that’s a decent enough nerf. I cant see ppl getting 20 LW the recipe for the greater variant if its a boss drop, will take like 4 months for them all to get the recipe should they be a bop item you make
Every proffession have something usefull, but other than the crafted gear LW got nothing if drums get nerfed.
But looking at the blue post here, they basicly change nothing with drums, just make them just as mandatory, but much more a pain to use due to the 8yards before Zulaman.
Cant think of a worse way to “fix” drums
What about leg enchants?
As a guy said in US forums:
Leg enchant is nice, but nothing compared to other proffessions, same with tailoring, will be dropped once you dont use the gear anymore to pick up better proffessions
Okay, so lets see if I understood this correctly:
Original Drums will still be in the game, only with a shorter radius, and larger drums will have a large radius and drop as a rare recipe from ZA.
If this is indeed how this works…wow…because that’s probably the worst possible solution to the drums issue!
Not only will it not remove the tedious drum-meta, where we have 22 LW per raid, it will make it even more annoying, because now people have to stand close to each other as a group to use it. Oh, and ofc mandatory ZA farm until everyone has the big recipe! Great!
I seriously hope I misunderstood how this works.
Ye, can’t think of a worse solution to drums.
Why would anyone drop tailoring?
They’ll still have plenty of BoEs to sell afterwards and supply cd cloth (from alts as well).
It’s worth it to keep.
You can keep selling worthwhile sets to new class players.
More valuable the rarer the profession holders are.
Same with leatherworking.
Because they bring nothing to the table other than craftables.
they will be dropped for enchanting and/or JC
That’s your minmax brain thinking.
Not everyone will bother to drop them, as there is profit to be made & some recipes drop from raids.
Thought this was a joke when I heard about this so I came to see it for myself. Seriously this is Blizzard’s idea of listening to players about drums? This is literally worse than if they hadn’t changed anything.
We don’t want 20+ leatherworkers in a raid, this doesn’t fix this at all. The answer is very simple, add the sated debuff to drums.
I seriously wonder if the Blizzard devs are completely tone deaf by thinking this solves or even helps the problem or they’re doing this because they know it will encourage more botting, unfortunately I think it’s the latter and this is unlikely to change unless the community makes a lot of noise about this.
Uhm, yes its minmaxing, which is the entire point of a drums discussion?
People who dont care about minmaxing will have no issue with drums to begin with
If you are going to make them “unattractive”, atleast give them the original material cost and charges. The range and cast time alone does very little.
Or even better. Remove them pre ZA, since “noone” used them back then anyway. Give us the TBC expeience you claim you want to give us.
FFS, now I have to be leatherworker in TBC…
‘‘we will make it so you dont need 25 LWs’’ this was said during blizzcon wow tbc roundtable.
Yet you still make LW mandatory for every1 in the raid and make it even more obnoxious to use/more expensive. What a joke, does blizzard even play their own game?
I am truly astonished. Blizzard found the way to still force everyone to be LW, and at the same time make being LW MORE obnoxious.
Even when thinking “how can they frack this up” I thought they may simply nerf the drum to give very little benefit. Then it would be mandatory and unsatisfying. But cutting the range so people have to stack, and adding a “normal” version as a rare drop to a raid you wouldn’t normally want to farm past getting warbears…
I mean… I didn’t even think it is possible to frack up this badly at game design. And there were people who wanted classic+ from current year Blizzard.
I am so, so deeply disappointed. /golfclap
